MacBook keyboard brightness on ANOTHER LEVEL
MacBook keyboard brightness workaround that might improve the quality of your life. Or it might not.

⚠️ If you use F1 or F2 keys in some apps, my config is perhaps not designed for You, but you can choose different keys without a problem.
⚠️ There is a little visual mistake in the video at 1:35. I showed that pressing fn + F1/F2 adjusts the same brightness overlay menu as pressing the F1 and F2 keys alone. Of course, the keyboard brightness overlay menu should be shown using fn + F1/F2. Yikes.
Also "Wan't" is a new word. Don't know what happened there.
I didn’t want to mention this in my video since it’s my first time putting myself out there, but if you’d like to support my channel (since monetizing on UA-cam is a long and challenging journey), here’s where you can do it:

It's my first video, and after watching it, I realized it could have been an email, but I had too much fun doing it, so let's say the additional parts are for entertainment.
Karabiner Elements turned out cool also.
I have some ideas for future videos so maybe stay for a while?

isnt workin its just like stopping keyboard brightness completely
just learn to type dummies! lol
Glad to be your 90th subscriber lol
@@ms1-Alex I’ll remember You bro
The spotlight button has got to be the most useless button ever. cmd space is easier to reach and there it a menu bar icon. Not to mention i've never needed to use spotlight
That's the truth. Even replacing it with screenshot functions would be a Decillion times more useful.
Very good quality of video, and good presentation of information, keep it up!!!
Wow! Love this video bro, waiting for more. I don't even have MacBook but gonna watch ya anyway. Cheers.
Legend!
@@Lucyian_ but if anyone wants to buy me a MacBook i wouldn't mind, pls dm me so i can be more enaged in this fantastic content
Oh that's the only video you got...😅
Working on it haha
How the hell you got soo less subscribers? Great video nice and straight forward
I don't understand why F3 and F4 on M series Macs aren't for keyboard brightness. Spotlight can be activated with CMD+Space and Mission Control is something which you can do with gestures and isn't really as important as keyboard brightness imo
This. Exactly this
thanks❤
This is a really cool video :)
Dude, this is awesome! tysm
Finally found a fix! I have been burning my retina with no keyboard brightness toggle for the last 2 years on this M1 Pro MacBook x.x Thank you for the tutorial!
it didn't work dude :(
Damn, could You tell me more about what went wrong? Did You follow every step?
@@Lucyian_ I did everything you told me
@@Lucyian_ I am using macbook air m1
And what keys did You choose? I’ll write some stupid obvious things now, which are already in the video, because it’s hard for me to tell what might be the issue since nobody seems to have a similar problem. I know You might have done them already but even though: If You choose the keys I did make sure to press “fn” alongside. Also double check the path and the file name (be sure to use .plist). Maybe You have some different app that is fighting the bind? Like mentioned in the video Karabiner Elements. Those are things that I came up. Check the links in the document (in the description) since those might be more helpful
that's why I love my macbook 12", the best one ever
even though it's the smallest it has those functions. clearly apple had the space
12" is a unique machine. Nowadays they also have the space but clearly, we just don't understand the reasoning behind putting the spotlight search and e.g. dictation key 🥴 instead of something actually useful
DUDE TYSM WHOEVER U R
What a great simple video, really. I am used now to staying on 1/10 brightness and that’s fine for me all the time, so not for me, but many would probably need it
Well, this is awesome!
I hope the redesigned MacBook Pro will have the touch bar above the function keys. I really liked adjusting my brightness from it.
@Apple this would be so cool
This is the reason i am staying on my old mack pro with intel. Because it has touch bar 🙂
@@BimblyPlays Yeah but this small 13 inch display
R.I.P Mac’s Touch Bar 2016-2019
It would've been a much better experience if the function keys weren't replaced!
2022 had it
good, but windows have this function since windows 10 release.
What can I say, money is not the only price we need to pay
@@Lucyian_ we dont need to pay, i'm too lazy to find tutorials on youtube (this video poped up in recommendations). i want so system will set up everything for me. macbooks however are so overpriced.
I use remapped the f5 and f6 key because that is what I'm used to, and dictation and do not disturb keys serve no purpose.
I don't know what happened with my textEdit but when I renamed it, the file changed, so I had to start it in VS Code and copied the right code back in to it. Works perfekt, nice job
Happy to hear that You figured it out :D
nu uh, 8 subs?? you deserve more - video quality is 💯 - straight to the point Man also tysm for this useful tip
We’ll se if UA-cam is ready for me. Thank You so much!
Is there a way to do it with ipad keyboard too?
Hard for me to say since I do not own one and I doubt that the solution shown in the video can be done on an iPad, but my best guess is to spend some time in the shortcut app. This link might somehow help You: www.reddit.com/r/shortcuts/comments/g82yif/shortcut_to_change_ipad_magic_keyboard_brightness/ Also if it's possible to create a shortcut that will adjust Your magic keyboard brightness to let's say 50% You can try to set some super simple name to this shortcut like "K50" and then simply trigger it using spotlight search and type this name. Create as many of them as You need e.g. K00, K25, K100.
i dont have this issue, nor do i care about the video, but i can tell its well made so you earned my sub, keep it up :)
Awesome work! Been looking for a fix and finally got one thanks to you, keep going and you'll make it big some day!
Appreciate it 🥹
