  • This is such a simple recipe for garlic and sundried tomato bread. So much flavour comes from roasting the garlic and the lovely tomatoes. Try it with any soups or curry.

    Love your recipes. I’d like to mention that I use cookie liners to cover dough, or bread that needs to proof it does not stick and can be used over and over again. I have 3 kept aside for just this reason. Sainsbury have cooking liners for under £2. It not very good for cooking so I use these for covering. ❤

    Made this bread today and absolutely nailed it. So easy to prepare. My partner doesn't like tomatoes so I folded pesto into the dough instead. Came out perfect. Top marks as always, thank you for rescuing my family meals!

    Have to try this and the soup. Looks like a winning combination. I’ve used a Wessex farm sundried tomato and garlic mix before which was nice but making from scratch is always good fun and you feel like you’ve achieved something when it turns out good. Thanks 😊

    This bread turned out so well! It was delicious with soup and also as a sandwich bread!!!
    I am really looking forward to making it with garlic only, as I adore all garlic breads.and these lives were fantastic!

    Lately I've been really enjoying baking bread. Until very recently, it was something I didn't believe I could do. I followed a few trustworthy recipes since then and it turns out it's not that hard after all! This looks like a delicious recipe to try, I love garlic as it is and roasting it just improves it!

    That bread looks wonderful and I’m definitely making a loaf tomorrow. One question …did you bake the garlic at 200c fan or 200 c conventional. And thank you for showing us the burned sun - dried tomatoes. It really is comforting to know that if things go slightly wrong for YOU then I don’t have to beat myself up if I make errors too. Great teaching!

      Hi, I think she meant 200°C conventional as she would have mentioned fan after 200 as she normally does. So I reckon it goes in at 180°C fan :)

    I re-use bubble wrap, bubble side down, on my proofing dough. It doesn't stick! 👍🏻

    Personally, I would put all the flavouring into the dough and would bake it in a wider loaf tin. It would make a brilliant base for mini pizzas.

    I have always found baking bread daunting, but found this recipe doable. My result was not not half as good as the bread seemed to be heavy and overbaked. But I think the next time I will be better. I found the instructions for the temperature and 'heavy' flour or 'bread flour' confusing.
    1. Please advise re the temperature and baking time clearly.
    2. Also, I used the regular Robinhood white flour (maida). Should I be using Bread flour instead?

    Chetne!!! Can we use wholemeal flour? Where did you take the silicon cover from? Also which brand is yr kitchen aid in which you kneaded the dough? Is it advisable to take kitchen aid if one has TM6?

      you can use whole meal flour but the texture will change completely and it will be a bit dense. The other question is for TM6 to answer

    Chetna! Instead of aluminium foil what else can we use as Aluminium foil is not good at all if you heat it up.
