One thing that confused me was that in English it's "lord of the night" but in Portuguese, the language of the subtitles I play in was basically translated as "lady of the night"
so many theories about this lord being Xbalanque or any other dude left me confused
Before making theories you should look at the Portuguese or even the Chinese subtitles, the Chinese one is the original and the Portuguese one doesn't have that nonsense, in Dain's last quest the Portuguese subtitle also called the "Vinster king" the dark king, simplifying it immensely a lot of things
