Found a place in Osaka called 'Chiyomatsu' where ex sumo wrestlers make the LARGEST slab of Tonkatsu I have ever seen in my life. What do you think?
A wise man once said, "If you don't know what to order in a restaurant, just copy the fat person's order. You won't be disappointed"
One time I copied your mom's order
Strange wisdom
In any restaurant I’ve not yet had the pleasure of visiting, I usually like to ask the servers, “What do you eat here?” They know what the best food is and that’s what I order. Unless the restaurant is known for a particular dish of course.
as a fat man, i am honored to know some one out there respect my opinion to copy my order instead of just chalking it up to a pile of lard and garbage. Do remember that not everyone's metabolism is the same, take smaller portions if you want to test the water, and workout to keep your body chemicals in balance so that you can eat delicious stuff for much longer :)

So what's the name of the restaurant lol? I can't go visit if we don't even know which place it is

The description doesn’t say shit but I managed to catch the little flag and know enough Japanese
Katsudon Chiyomatsu カツ丼 ちよ松
You’re welcome

I just wanna say that your pfp is perfect for this comment
Glad to see these guys doing well. A lot of sumo wrestlers who don't make it to the pinnacle of the sport are left with very little once they finish, having lived most of their lives within the sumo stables and their academic education often takes a hit as well and their earnings from the sport are not enough to sustain them long term.
like most of the other sports retired veteran... they didn't have any other skillset
What about their health after being so fat for so long?
Those guys really need to franchise it and brand the cutlets as "Chonkatsu".
😂
You should tell them you’re available for consultations, that’s gold.

Cutlets 😐😐😐😐😐
Cutlets, Japan 😲😲😲😲😲
As a former rikishi, lots of us join the cooking trade after we leave Sumo since heya (stable) life is all about preparing meals for your seniors. I wasn't in sumo for very long and I never even technically made it out of the lower ranks, since I realised I loved sumo as a sport not a lifestyle but im glad to see more rikishi doing successful for themselves!
I tried to recreate this recipe, and i gotta say that the slow cooking definitely makes a HUGE difference. The meat is so juicy and tasty. You can cook the hole piece and slice smaller pieces after if you think it is too big of a piece (almost 300g).
We should sue Japan for hoarding all the best food 😂
That would be Italy not Japan 😂. There's so much bad food and unhealthy shit here in Japan.

@@isaacledesma2557 yes I am lol. I'm vegetarian.
But, my point is there's a funny misconception with Japan that the food is amazing or healthy. Not at all, there's junk food everywhere, conbini food is really bad for you, high levels of sodium, salt, carbs and fat in most of the food.
@@FuuJojo Vietnam food 💯
Broooo I want some
Restaurant owned by a Sumo wrestler will feed you good food like a sumo wrestler
Nice recovery Pat!! 💪🏾💪🏾
We need you in New Zealand mate!!!!
No fking reason not to go to Japan ...I'm 100% sure I'll go someday
That's food for working right there, that's that working man food
In Japan, they differentiate the food.
In Canada, they differentiate with marketing.
I just love Japan everything sems nice and the culture❤
A snack for a sumo wrestler is like dinner for an average person.
Actually, sumo wrestler diets are mostly vegetarian.
This place was around the corner of where I stayed in Osaka. Saw a huge line the first day. Made sure I was there the following day a couple of hours before it opened. Gotta say it was a top 3 and I was all over the country for 2 and a half months.
watching this as i eat my instant noodle and thinking about my tuition fee 🗿
I NEED THAT RIGHT NOW
The moment I heard the "Kawaikutte gomen ne" and saw the chefs, i imagined sumo wrestlers cosplaying as highschool girls.... you are welcome for the vivid image.
hey,do you know the name of the background music?CAN I PLEASE KNOW?
@@dss2008 It's this one ua-cam.com/video/K4xLi8IF1FM/v-deo.html
Song name is Kawaikute Gomen
@@not4ne141 THANKYOU thankyou, that was so so so irritating that i just didn't know the name but heard it so many times ,thankyou :)
Japan should pay you for promoting all the local hidden gems in the food world... I'm so hungry now😂
kawaikute gomen must be really a trend in Japan right now
it will be the first place to visit a most go! Tonkatzu!!!
Omg. I love Japanese pork chop. Why can't I find this in New York? I want to eat this every day
Yum! I want to try! This Will be on My bucket list!!!
That little flag-card thingy with the piggy they put in it is super cute 😊.
That with some rice and curry would be my absolute dream meal.
Even Americans are looking at this and going "that's too much food"
Holy shit that looks good.
Most Japanese dishes have little meat, but when it’s the opposite. It slaps!
それは日本料理を知らないだけだ
That looks delicious....and the foods not bad either!!
i hear zeta singing in the background. NICE!
Can we all agree @whatthepato is Truly a Kind Spirit an showcased this perfectly catch 🫴🪝 the joiy an happiness in the chefs hearts showing there True passion. 🎉 Really thick cut, wondering that how to get the inside cooked before the outside crust get burned. 😮
Looks like something I'd see on Food Wars.
Sumo wrestlers and Kawaiikute Gomen playing in the background.
Yep the perfect match for each other if you've seen the music video LOL
I CANT ESCAPE THE SONG
You can always trust a Sumo wrestler when it comes to food!
And beer.
"your next trip to Japan"
'It's as big as my head', that's what she said. where have i heard that before?🤔
That's one gigantic Sumokatsu!!!
Holy cow this looks great
I CAN’T ESCAPE THIS AUDIIOOOOO
I hope you're mouth is ok. Love you Patpat!
Next Japan trip
Yup she wasn't talking to me
Omg this looks absolutely amazing! And yes please, can you give us the name of the restaurant? I'd love to bring my boyfriend here.
Chiyomatsu is the name of the place
It’s in description
@@PotatoBoi69 thank you!
@@Username-xk9lx I only see "sumo wrestlers make tonkatsu" in the description. I'm on youtube shorts.
@@alexandrathegamer if you watch this short with a phone, tap the triple dots on the top right corner, and choose description
Try Pléh Csárda in Budapest, Hungary they give a way bigger tonkatsu (or *rántott hús* in hungarian)
I love tonkatsu...and THAT right there is something I'd love to try...if someone made an at home recipe version to try I'd give it a shot cause I can tell you right now it'll be decades before I ever get to visit Japan...it's an expensive trip..and an intimidating one for someone who's never left his home country.
Is it pork?
@@yashkadam5286 yeah, tonkatsu is fried pork cuts.
Man this looks amazing
Okay! Now that! That looks amazing!
Looks amazing!
Midoriya Izuku would love this
That food will keep me full for a day
My god, it actually looks really good. Won't lie...
Awesome video.
These look delicious, although, correct me if I’m wrong, I see some blood spots on a few of the slices. Shouldn’t they be cooked a bit longer since it’s pork?
She did mention it was slowly cooked for several hours to keep it tender and juicier... Meaning this cutlet is not only cooked through the deepfrying process alone. Maybe you missed that?
Wow that is gonna feed three people.
Naw, just have a pillow ready and you can finish it by yourself
I love Tonkatsu and I haven't even tried it!!! :D
"I fear not the man who has ate 10,000 types of food, but I fear the man who has ate tonkatsu 10,000 times"
If I ever go back to eating pork, I'll give it a try
There's chicken too
Some say you never actually chose to stop eating pork. The pork chose you 😌
Judging from how big that was i can say that i can eat 4 rice with one slice
Osaka truly is Japan's kitchen
Rikishi are REAL ONES
that size just so crazyy
It wouldn't be a delicacy more like comfort food
Name of the shop is “Chiyomatsu” in Namba, Osaka
I miss Japan
Why did I think you were Lisa Nguyen and JeanelleEats two times through this video
"You might want to save this place"
Doesn't give a name
Now that's katsudoom! I'll definitely try this in case I get to travel there.
It makes sense for this dish to be part of a sumo wrestlers diet. It's protein packed!!
People will wait in line for hours no matter what in Japan, there are over 100 M people in less than 400.000 km², the food looks good though
I would love to try the Capsule hotel and this : )
That looks unreal
Outstanding ❤
Danggit Patty, I was just in Osaka 2 weeks ago, now I have to go back, lol
the restaurant name is chiyo-matsu, tonkatsu, dohton-bori honten, located in dohton-bori district, 1-10 sennichi-mae 1-chome, chu-o-ku, osaka,
Looks raw
Man that looks good
Ouhhh it looks really nice!!! 🤧🥲😭😍
love tonkatsu man, but DAMN that is a thick one
I don’t eat pork and it’s seems that’s a big staple in Japanese food. I’m going to go visit soon I hope that doesn’t affect my experience to much.
I feel like your head was bigger than that bowl 😂
That looks so good
Tonkatsu is literally my favorite food when I visited Tokyo if you haven’t had it try it
Wish I would visit Japan as well as Korea someday
"Next Japan trip"? I haven't even been there once😭
That is the Sumo size Tonkatsu 😂
*Heavy breathing
Girl: I only date guys with big Tonkatsu
Guy with regular tonkatsu: 😓
Dont forget she had to make the comparison people shes so profesional so good
Just one slice of that is enough for me for a week.
I say this thousands of times and I'll say it again, God bless the Japanese they are awesome
If you think japanese food are the best then you should travel more.
That looks frickin' good
Hours?! Maybe a hour but not trying to sit outside with a tent hours
Bruh I'm on diet and fucking hungry and i now find this short
Looks amazing😁
The advantages of having local places within your neighborhood that isn't a corporate entity, ran by hard working people. Flourishing with unique restaurants all over the country
Looks so good
I'd need three of those
Needs MOAR green onions 🤔☹
