You know, i dont listen as much to Foo Fighters as i used to, but the Hanukka specials, i never miss them. We dont get much special stuff in our holidays, no one tells us happy new year on Rosh HaShana or happy Pesach. In school it always made me feel so alone, most i got was a mocking from my classmates because i was absent for a special holiday, that between the regular hate and words i don't want to repeat. This is special, this is unique and makes me feel like we can be seen too, a little, even if its a small holiday, its special.
Thank you for giving me a reason to smile every Hanukka, thanks for bringing us some light.

Violet seems to be an old soul as she gets the honesty, beauty and pain of lyrics like this. Such a sweet and takented young woman, I really enjoy seeing her perform. Happy holidays all!
Beautiful, soulful voice with impeccable timing, and loved Dave's deft touch on the drums. Pianist in the interval though, needs to remember this isn't about him; his noodling was way out of step with the mood and timbre and distracted from Violet's tone. But, wow.

This shows his versatility. We all know he can play loud and hard, but he's also excellent at soft Jazz playing.

Ms. Ian- This song was released while I was in high school and, while I'm male, it struck a chord with me and with many of my friends. I was thrilled when At Seventeen won the Grammy that year against stiff competition, I must confess that I hadn't thought of the song in eons and, now, hearing Violet's rendition, I feel its timelessness. No song has ever captured the feeling of being an awkward teeneager as this one does. Thank you for everything you've done, from Society's Child on. Your legacy lives on! Ray

That song is a classic. Perfectly interpreted. It's always a pleasure to see musical talent passed down to the next generation.
I think I first heard this song when I was in 4th or 5th grade, probably through my Mom. She was in college when it came out. I immediately felt seen. I still feel seen. It's a timeless friend. An ever-reaching melody. Thank you, Janice. For your kind honesty and truth that has been a comfort to so many generations.
And thank you Violet, Dave, and Greg for bringing it back in such a touching, lovely way.

Oh my G#d, her voice! The control, the emotion she brings to her phrasing, it’s something that can’t be taught, she has her dad’s feeling of rhythm, if you listen for it, she syncopates the beat when she feels it but never loses time. I remember hearing her sing backup at her very first show. This girl is going to make her own mark in the world, I can promise you, just watch!

I just read Dave’s book and he talks about how when Violet was three years old, she was already zeroing in on harmonies, vocal styles and pitch. She probably gets it more from her grandmother Virginia who also sang. Dave is all raw shred and no vibrato. Violet is all about technique.

My mother bought Janis Ian’s album when I was 6 years old. I loved when she played At Seventeen. As a teen I snuck the album into my room and listened over and over. I so related to that girl in the song. And at 52, I am overwhelmed with the emotions I still experience from it. This cover is beautiful. Thank you 🤍
I always felt this song was for me when I was in High School. Then in College, I found that none of that mattered, and I found my beautiful self inside, and the beauty shined outward. What a lovely rendition by Violet Ghrol ❤

I’m sure I’ve heard this song 100 times growing up- but not sure I listened to the lyrics until today. My mother adores Janice. With Janice not being able to sing any more- Violet gave Life to this song- she channeled Janice’s voice and soul in this. So rarely can an iconic song be be done so flawlessly like the original artist.
She has a very beautiful and special voice. Reminds me of Norah Jones. ❤ Dave must be so proud of her wonderful daughter.
