This song made me Google who Jeff Buckley was. OMG such amazing music, she sings Jeff perfect Dave was right..Thank you, Taylor.. introduced me to so much amazing music by his enthusiasm and love for music was outstanding
Jeff Buckley is my favorite singer songwriter of all time with Pink Floyd.....on top of that Foo Fighters is my favorite band after Pink Floyd.. this made me all my eyes out ,,, just beautiful
Man this rules. She did great with the lower register in the first verse! Buckley’s voice really was magnificent. I remember hearing about Taylor’s passing at a Darkness concert, gone way too soon. RIP.
Never heard Jeff before this, hearing it gave me goosebumps was so amazing, going back now and listening to Jeff, Violet did beyond amazing i see why i got goosebumps, just found a new favorite song and artist in Jeff Buckley
Gorgeous and special song from an outstanding artist. She imitated so well But as I think Jeff's singing was so special and so personal, he's one of those who are barely coverable. How could you cover depth of soul. Anyhow, well done and impressive range. Only it didn't get me even close as Jeff with his vulnerable voice and spirit. To me violet is a winsome person.
song is too low for her range, I have the same problem on jeff's songs. she's going flat and hitting the very bottom of her register which is why you can barely hear her. she's also singing with very little emotion, focused mostly on technique, makes sense with the size of that crowd, she's probs super nervous. I would be too. she has a nice voice, this is just not the song for it.
@@ohwellwhateverrI’m aware. I’ve covered it many times. all of jeff’s music is difficult to cover because his range and fluidity to transition is pretty unmatched. amy winehouse would definitely be an easier choice for her.
She was also 17 at the time, to get on that stage in front of all those people and try to cover Jeff Buckley...she did an amazing job like to hear her try again in a few years. But not many can match Chris Cornell or Jeff Buckley sadly no one sings like them anymore.
Sung in a tennor voice . Same key as original . She did a good job . Kept it true to the original. I can never fogive her father for the forced medication retoric in 2021. Never forget.
Violet did well, Dave did great as always with the drumming, the slide guitar was good, but that other guitar providing the dissonance in the beginning... yuck that was awful. The volume should've been lowered a bit. Either he hit too many strings on those chords or he was not in the proper frequency with the open G tuning or something
I thought that violets performance here was absolutely stunning. Sounded and looked great, if I didn't know I would have said she was a seasoned pro. Such a shame that some knucklehead Nimrod allowed that guitar to be inccorectky tuned - I hope heads rolled for that shit
Try listening to her performance of "At Seventeen" at last years Hannukah celebration, she definitely knows how to use her voice, but this song is kinda insane and very hard to sing (and starts off very deep for her range)
The balance between the instruments and her voice is off. She has a stunning voice but this isn’t a good example of it unfortunately. Try listening to her cover of Amy Wine house’s ‘Take The Box’ from the Hanukkah Sessions her dad did with Greg Kurstin.
This is here because of a request. RIP Taylor Hawkins

rip chris chester and taylor
sucks so hard youtube wont allow the 'normal' version this... best performance of the event..
@@johnbis7999 jeff was fucking brilliant... and taken too soon...
...and yeah...Violet sings it so good...
@@WacKEDmaN The best I could do without it getting totally blocked
Hearing Dave grohl play Jeff Buckley is absolutely a beauty to behold
He did nothing impressive just followed a basic beat
It was beautiful regardless of the guitar.

Violet sang this perfect!! AMAZEING!!
👍
One of the best songs ever (IMO). Tough to copy Jeff. But, this is strong.
She done a beautiful job, it was excellent ❤

Yes. So sad about Taylor

Glad you have found Jeff Buckley.
If you like the song, listen to the original by Leonard Cohen. I like Jeff's, but I love Leonard's.
@@Laariajeff buckley wrote the song pal…
there is so much more to listen to
Such a down to earth and classy young lady
The guitar is out of tune right? Am I the only one hearing it?
Yeah. It was a bit dodgy in the beginning
i hear it 2 and it sucks big time!!!!
Not out of tune, the second guitar is quite dissonant in the track, but he is hitting too many strings so sounds a bit too clashy.
Verdade
Playing the wrong chords
Her vocals are surprising really good
I love that Alain Johannes (aka the best kept secret in rock music) was a part of this.
People should be building monuments to that guy
Wow Dave's daughter did the vocals justice. Perfect!!
Absolutely nailed one of the most beautiful, and hardest songs for the right reason, choice one from New Zealand x
👍
I guess the neat thing of are lives, we see the picture through our own eyes and ears. And your heart paints the picture
Wow, so many spectators came to the concert
It was a great mark of respect to a very popular band member
She's fantastic!!!!
Could only imagine if she sang it at her whole capacity 😮
Totally agree your the only comment that is truthful

Beautifully sanged and played
Violet ❤
Could you pleeease post her cover of Jeff’s “Grace” if you have the footage, I’d really appreciate it :))
It's on the "to-do" list
Awesome ;)
I think Prime still has the full concert
1:15 a look you dont wanna get from Dave lol
Loved it
Alain is the beast
Violet tiene todo el futuro por delante,le esperan grandes cosas,es hermosa en todo sentido

This has such an eastern feel, cool!
Amazing singing...❤ Thank you
RIP HAWWWWK!!!!! FOREVER MISSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
GROHHHLLLLLL FAMILY!!!!!!
Violet totally inherent can inhabit that song ❤....
is one of the guitars out of tune?
I think it was the audio
I think he was playing a version he once heard drunk down the phone.
yes my left ear is in pain
Thank you! Something is extremely off with that guitar lol
It feels like the guitar on the left channel is playing in another key.
nice cover
👍
Tune that thing!
I can't believe Jason was that outta tune or off. Wth happened.....
People complain about the guitar or of tune but don't realize what a pro violet is mmmmm
Excelente ❤

Well said 👍
agreed. i think she should stick with jazz rather than rock
She did great on Valerie later on in the night. This is a super hard song to cover!

Seems off but I ❤ it exists anywho!
Was Dave crying in the video, cause I get sad when he’s crying for some reason I don’t wanna sound dumb but I have empathy for dave? 😭
Probably still has the pain of losing Taylor
❤

this is one of the songs played when i'm dead
The guitar is out of tune or he is playing the wrong chord?
Sounds like both
💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔
Nice 🎉 5:21
Thank you 🙏
The guitar sounds exactly like it sounds on the original by Jeff Buckley
Very sad ….
RIP Taylor
Guitar on the left sounds terrible 😭😭😭everything else sounds great though
Guys...Évry singer knew how fouls heff was...they were fan boying him...that was all grunge bands and rock bands. They couldn't believe this guy
Are you
who's here from the jeff buckley wikipedia page
Am I the only one having difficulty hearing her?
Probably !
No, the whole stadium had trouble hearing the whole show
@@nicbrown3755 Oh !
Nope. And I have good hearing. The balance between the instruments and her voice is off. Shame as she has a beautiful voice.
They need to fire the sound engineer and that out of key guitarist.
Jesus christ, learn the song! That intro was embarassing.
😆
She did a wonderful job.....but this song is for a pushed male voice, not a female voice taking it easy
Essa menina não parece nada com Dave.
What’s up with the guitarist being horribly out of tune? Does he even know the song?
It was a dodgy start 😉
One guitar sucks!!
😆
Sing better than her dad and he try to hit harder drums over the vocals. Father's jelousy
I thought that guitarist is just being edgy and is improvising. But...nope.
Her voice has no presence.
Thats a bit rude, she's only sixteen in this and was probably very nervous. If you can't say something nice keep your mouth shut.
Try listening to her performance of "At Seventeen" at last years Hannukah celebration, she definitely knows how to use her voice, but this song is kinda insane and very hard to sing (and starts off very deep for her range)
says some douchebag Gen z flipping burgers and doing meth LOL
@@bernlin2000so why did she sing it if it was too hard for her?

She does not blow me away. I have heard better on American Idol and Americas Got Talent. She would not have made it to the final on either.
and?
Did you listen to her cover of Valerie? That was more suited to her voice
Just so pretty.
👍
Yeah...If you're not a child yourself, wanna try directing those comments towards adults in future?
I really hope you’re only saying that about her voice. She is seventeen
