- Genshin Impact's second Inazuma Chapter OST - "Islands of the Lost and Forgotten" is now available. The album's three discs "Isles of Serenity and Amnesia," "Beneath the Abyssal Depth," and "Battles of Inazuma 2" feature 60 remarkable tracks produced by the HOYO-MiX team and co-produced by Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc., each one an original composition from Genshin Impact.

I find the latin translations for La Signora's themes to be very interesting:
Chrysalis Suspirii - Chrysalis' Sigh
La Signora's original power was sealed by the delusion, acting as a chrysalis and we can even see her in the boss fight do this when she cocoons herself in ice, before the chrysalis was broken by us, the traveller, to show her true form and, as adeptly described in the funerary mask, "causing her flames to burst forth once more"
The song in this part describes when she was first being recruited by the fatui and given her delusion it's purpose was to calm her flames, but also to erase her past, give her a clean slate at life. I think that's why in the lyrics of the first part, there isn't really any reference to her time as the Crimson Witch, rather it tells us about her time in the fatui. Since this is when she is still using her delusion in the boss fight it makes sense as she is purified of her past sins from before the Fatui and does not any reference to her past as she is still "pure" in her eyes.
Saltatio Favillae - Dancing Ashes
In this part Signora now uses the flames, discarding the delusion, but the lyrics also talk about her time before the Fatui, her grief over her lover and her time as the Crimson Witch - with no chrysalis in the form of a delusion she is forced to relive and remember her past. I personally believe when she cries out during the fight "Who dares... to call me... a witch!" is a perfect example of this. She turned herself into the Crimson Witch as she believed doing so would help rid the world of evil and monsters but everyone feared and rejected her, some people calling her a, you guessed it, a witch. Even now she is not remembered fondly. In the Crimson Witch artifact set, she is described as someone "that historians loathed to remember" which is truly tragic considering whilst many were scared of her and the havoc she caused, her intentions were to simply rid the world of these monsters and demons that caused so much pain which would help so many people, even harming herself with her flames whilst doing it.
Oh boy I started rambling can't wait to see the blithering mess I become when I start analysing someone elses battle theme in the future like Scaramouche or Dottore, or heck even the Tsaritsa lol
Thank you soooo much for this information! I seldom read the artifact stories or books back then so I cheered for her death during the archon quest because I hated her as she hurt my favourite character, Venti. But the more backstory I found about Signora, the pitier I feel for this character. Especially after reading the translation of the Latin lyrics, I start to feel guilty to hate her that blindly......I think I should pay more attention to the pieces of information that shattered in the game now😮💨
Also, It kinda make sense she can't be playable tbh, unlike childe who have his final form made by both delusion & abyss power, his"true" form is the splish splash boy.
In the opposite, I feel like signora's "true" form is the 3 meter rampaging fire lady, it's what left of her after cataclysm when she 'consumed' a liquid fire in the crimson witch lore, she nearly died in that form, the pretty lady we talk in the story is just a sprite made by her cryo delusion, a shell for her moth self to recover given by tsaritsa.
To think about it, she is not only healed n taken in by tsaritsa but in her new body she can live normally again not as a flaming witch, she is indeed given a new life, make sense she dedicated herself for tsaritsa but too bad, she underestimate her circumstances & enemies

Enkanomiya's battle themes is definitely on a whole different level, compared to the other songs that has been released in Genshin, where it combines classic strings with modern techno stuffs.
Can't wait to hear Sumeru's music, since it's likely gonna be inspired with middle-east stuffs.

in the weekly raiden boss fight, "thunderings of the merciless" plays during her normal phase, and when she transforms into the phase with the extra arms, the soundtrack smoothly transitions to the more epic remix "the almighty violet thunder". glad to know that i wasn't just hearing things when fighting her.
Thunderings of the Merciless is also the second phase music of the bossfight with Ei in the older archon quest

Funny enough, some people complained that's it's too similar, not quite unique and that Yu Peng-Chen is kinda lazy with that one (implying that he only added electric guitar sounds on top of Raiden's original theme), when it has to be similar to allow smooth transitions between two boss mode.

You can really tell Signora is a witch and has Mondstadt origin just by listening to her battle music. It feels magical, creepy, intimidating, and terrifying, all at the same time.

Yeah, No Turning Back is composed by Yijun Jiang...Undersea Encounters is composed by Dimeng Yuan... and Raiden Shogun's boss themes are composed by Xin Zhao. Ik why people think Yu-Peng Chen composed everything since he's the lead composer and features in interviews, but still

Undersea Encounters is so underrated, seriously. It’s really good, and honestly, I like it more than Combat Beneath The Waves. I really like to listen to it while causally dodging the Abyss Heralds and Abyss Lectors.

Rest easy Genshin team. For me your music is one of the best from all games I played. And I played a LOT since Sonic 2 on Genesis.
I think Combat Beneath the waves 15:22 gets oversighted so often wen It's probably amongst the best Battle themes not to mention It's probably the most unique out of all of them. Both Melancholic and Breath taking (quite literally because the vocals do inspire the feeling of drowning on an everwaving sea of misterious)

They accentuated the vocals for Signora’s theme giving the song a more powerful vibe.
I think it's just your in game settings. You can change how much dynamic there is in the audio, probably to not hinder too much people with lower end audio equipment.

i like how one of the lyrics is "dies irae, finis!" which means "the day of wrath, the end!". dies irae is a gregorian chant with a very infamous melody used in songs like the squid game sound track , lord of the rings, the lion king, and a lot of others. it symbolizes that signora is about to face the divine punishment and it's a cool little detail i found
Hoyoverse and their themes are masterpieces. Bopping to the music while trying not to die is an incredible experience

I've heard music that feels like it's building to something, but never reaches it so it's just always building. Bane of Ambitions doesn't feel like it's building at all. The song simply _is._ Constant. Immovable.

i like the songs in this game, not many games/shows have good bgm music to the Point where I could just enjoy both calm, sad and aggressive songs which makes me more into what I'm playing or watching
All of the tracks are pure masterpieces. But no one talks about 22:55 "No turning back"?
The orchestra mixed with something like rock and the little electronic elements. It gives me chills. It's so well made and so unique. It makes me feel like I'm the one on the battlefield and not just taping on a keyboard. I can feel the intensity, the fear and even the fun in the battle.
This song is such a bop
I love all the Genshin soundtrack, but Saltatio Favillae is just special. So many emotions in a single track that it tears me apart. Rage, despair, determination, sorrow, agony, regret, maniacal obsession, solemn devotion...
I like how it's both intense and calming, that's what i love about inazuma music.

just fiy, No Turning Back is composed by Yijun Jiang...Undersea Encounters is composed by Dimeng Yuan... and Raiden Shogun's boss themes are composed by Xin Zhao. But ofc Yu-Peng Chen composed the Signora music which is definitely the best one here 🙏
