Every time I get a clutch in to replace I always check your videos to see if you have done one 1st, top videos mate not easy doing it on the floor and producing such high quality videos at the same time.
AMAZING VIDEO THANKS 👍👍 The clutch went on my daughters ka I followed this video step by step and now its in perfect working order. Only took me a weekend to do and only cost £52 for clutch kit. Thanks 😊 🙏
Doing my daughter’s fiat 500 clutch this weekend. Love seeing it done on a drive as I don’t have a ramp. Given me false confidence that I too will get it done in an hour. To be safe I have left the whole weekend free to do it though
I have been watching this channel nonstop for a couple days now. What a testament to skilled workmanship! As a guy who dreams of having a garage, but mainly works on a gravel drive, this is really inspiring stuff. You definitely have my sub :) Quick question- what kind of mats are you using that can hold up to the jack wheels while under that kind of load?
Kevin, the master , here from the netherlands , thank you so much for this video. With your help , and watching it step by step i was lucky to succeed in replacing the clutchset of my Ka 2010. I used exactly the same clutchset . 👍👍
Thanks for this video, I changed Clutch on my last MK2 KA and I need to do another soon but the last time I changed it I ended up removing that crossmember bar as I took out the whole gearbox, I remember that the bar had bolts behind the front bumper so I removed the bumper to, it was a right job, I'm glad you can just rest the gearbox on that bar instead of removing it. But saying that I did replace the complete gearbox with a low mileage gearbox so I suppose I had to do that, but when I do the next clutch I'll leave that bar on. Thanks
Kev, just noticed a smart thing you do that I never copped before - the chuck-away gloves on over the thin work gloves.... that's a cracker & I'm gonna be pinching that idea off you. :-) I hate getting oil on my nice skinny work gloves... cracking vid as always. Every day is school day.
Maté honestly. I love this doing what I do. But if I’ve got dirty/oily hands after repair then it’s not a good day for me. 😁 I use a think non grip pair of gloves with the disposable on top. And keep replacing it if there’s too much oil or tear / rip.
guess what's going over my skinny, spendy gloves tomorrow! I always use either/or - never both. Just never dawned, but it's a bang on way to go. :-) Best of both worlds.
just got this car today, out of all the clutches i have watched you change this looks like a bastard to do an i need to do mide, swear if you were local to liverpool i would try to hire you bigman
Wow. The amount of work needed on this makes me feel a little sick 😅 I don't know if I have the time, patience or tools needed for this 😄 Great work, shame you're not operating down the M3.
Great video, i have just purchased the same car but 2014 for my daughter, when you can will you show us the details of filling or emptying the brake fluid , and explain the mesh filter requirements as the book states, also draining the radiator to flush all dirty water out , to replace . please.
I was looking at one of these that needs a new clutch for my daughter and thought ahhh I could do that bearing in mind the last one I done was a cortina mk4 back before Jesus was born ! Umm well Maybe not I’d leave this to the professional I’d make a right old hash of it and save a load of bits I suspect ! You made a real Nice job of that fella 👍
I know this is an old job so I’m not holding out much hope. But is there any chance you’ve got any pictures for reference of where the starter is on these whilst everything is assembled? I need to find out if it’s worth the hassle of me doing mine myself or if I should just pay somebody and save myself the time 😂 great video though I can appreciate the level of skill you have 👍🏻
Hello. I'm planning to change the clutch on my ka mark 2 1l2. May be you can help me : what is the product that is spilled on the clutch (both the old and the new one). I assume it is for cleaning but not sure what type of product it is? Thanks. Great video
A rear wheel drive BMW.... But I use a transmission jack. I' only 120lbs..I weigh less then the transmission. I can't bench press like this guy guy all day...
What about old vauxhall cavalier or nova with plate wer you don't remove box as apprentice mechanic was charged 40 quid to change clutch on my first car a nova by a employee m8 that was 1st year after that they made me fix my own car and told me how once only so I listened and learnt
Hey mate. Iv watched a few of your videos recently. I'm gonna try and tackle my partners ford ka 1.3 2002. Any tips? What is it you always drain at the beginning? Hydraulic fluid? Is it safe to completely drain? And when should I drive after finishing the job? Does it need to sit for a bit? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks mate
This lad works hard for the money and deserves every penny.

Très bon rien à dire surtout sans pont
Hi.
What a wonderful king, Mr. Kevin.
Can I change the gearbox without removing the engine?
😆🎉🍻.. class
17:49 what is the name of this piece? 17:49
Gear Linkage Cable onto the selector mechanism on the Gearbox.
Brilliant video thanks for uploading
Have a gearbox on one of these to do this weekend and this has helped greatly. Could I ask what oil grade and amount of oil goes in the box? Thanks
It’s 75w90 and fill till it over spills through the level plug. But I think you’ll need 3L
Good work. Kind regards from blackwood.
How long did it take?
How much do you charge for fitting & what area do you cover? My daughters car needs a new clutch (Oxfordshire) cheers
Saludos desde México muy buen trabajo Kevin
Great job Kev. 👍

What’s the easiest car to do a clutch job on? Had to do one on a Vauxhall Astra and it was a right pain, subframe off job!

What is the red paste you apply on the spline, bolt holes etc.? Anti seize or lube? (What type exactly?)
That’s correct. Red rubber grease. Anti seize and heat resistant
I watch it like a movie. Can anyone write the name of the parts?

It’s the exact same as the Fiat 500.
