    I just purchased a 2022 grom. I'm online this morning Buying a rear Fender delete get for $70 of course They'll offer you a tail light and relay for for upwards of $225. Before I checked out of the shopping cart I wanted to make sure I was getting the best deal I could that's when I ran into your video....... wow good job! you brought me down-to-earth thank you.

    If u have a home depot, vice, drill and some metal bits all you need to buy is 1" black strapping and some small nuts and bolts. You can also buy small leds from a autopart store for the tag light. Bend it up and drill your holes paimt it black with epoxy paint and it looks great plus it will hold up for the life of the bike. Ive owned 5 bikes in the past 20 yrs and have done this for all except my first. $200 for a tag holder is outrageous.

    If you spray it with black spray on bed liner, the wood grain won’t show and you won’t be able to tell it’s wood. Also, paint those shiny screws. Good job on this project!

    Ebays 29.00 integrated tail light for grom works great, don't need the signal flasher either. But cool idea , only thing is go little further and put wood lacquer on it some show the wood grain. Lowes sells 16gauge steel piece for 10.00 you can bend over a table corner and them paint and looks pro. Tst sells 10.00 led plate light that is like mini spot light. On ebays grom integrated lights, all years are good. Tst sells fender eliminater kit for 30.00. Do an exhaust next,lol

    Worked out pretty well I'd say, wood can be very strong, get some glue in the screws and all the joints, you could even use small angle brackets on the insides to make it even stronger. The key to strong wood construction is glue. Pretty cool I bet you have under $10 bones invested.

    • @AdventureDaily

    TST makes the best budget kit @ $34.... my fender eliminator search had a special criteria and that was it had to be compatible with the addition of a subcage later down the road. A lot of kits aren’t compatible with a cage but the TST basic fender kit looks like it will work.

    • @H3Hghostsniper
      @H3Hghostsniper 6 років тому +1

      Attention Deficit right on, so far the bars aren't that bad so I'll have to play around with some others. But for the fender eliminator. I was thinking. Get a small sheet of aluminum. Still make the box like your wooden one. But then make a 3/4" lip on the bolt sides so you can bolt on the bottom

      Well so I've had 4.5k set aside for quite some time. I was gonna buy a brand new grom. But I really wanted a pit bike and a dirt bike. I've now found me a grom for 2k I'm picking it up in a week. I'm gonna try and find a pit bike and a dirt bike too. I waited until now bc weather is cold lowers the price and people getting tax return and should be selling older toys. LOL I'm watching you race your dog now haha. And I found your channel I was on grom videos and I was watching fooligan I always scroll down and look for less sub channels bc they usually don't get enough respect and I came across your video of buying 4 grom. Since then all my free time I just go through your channel lol. Love all the snow wished we could get some here in TN we just get cold.... shewww sorry for blabbing so much. Have a blessed day bro.

    I Like the creativity but - the TST fender eliminator looks great for the Grom: it took around 3 days to receive and another hour to install w/ smoked light that eliminates those “shrek ear turn signals.”
    Smoked integrated taillight
    Fuse relay
    Eliminator Kit
    And relay wires
    $153 roughly
    Supper cheap !

    Hey bro my name is Thagner, I live in Brazil and I have the dream of having an honda grom. At the moment it is not sold here, and I learned that the nearest country where it is sold is in Paraguay. I won't give up on that, and I'm even trying to contact Honda to make her purchase possible. I really liked the finder eliminator you made. I have no practice at all, but I will ask someone to do it for me as soon as I get the bike. I am already subscribed to your channel and will follow! Keep enjoying the bike and registering! Hugs...

  • @Spartan375X

    There is a lack of fender eliminator for the CRF230M/L's and non of them really got my attention. I tried salvaging a scooter license plate bracket and a water pump bracket and those failed miserably. Then one day I find a satellite dish, took it apart, used those brackets and painted it black to match. It's slightly crooked, yet very solid. You can see it in some of my videos. It's been on there now 2 years, compared to the other junk parts I used.

    • @AdventureDaily
      @AdventureDaily  6 років тому

      That is awesome! I'm glad you figured something out, my girlfriend wants a supermoto now and we talked about getting her a 230, how do you like it so far?

    • @Spartan375X
      @Spartan375X 6 років тому +1

      So I have 4 bikes. XR250, CR125, CRF230M and just last Friday, a Grom! So now that I have a comparison that we can relate to, I rode around on the Grom putting 100 miles on it(all stock). With the FMF setup and 14/38 sprocket, the power became very noticeable compared to the Grom. I have taken the interstate once with it, still wouldn't recommend taking the interstate like one shouldn't with the Grom. I think it is great for around town and paved farm/county roads. Aftermarket parts are somewhat of a challenge, even with that said, I feel like this is a good bike, I got it 4 years ago and just reached 17K miles.

    Wood really lol hey if it works that's why I love your Channel I did something similar to what you did at first I use the license plate bracket off the original fender bent the top a little drill holes to line up with the factory holes in the bike and installed I used it integrated turn signal and then bought a license plate light that goes and where one of the bolts would to hold the license plate on I send you a pic but I don't know how on here

    • @AdventureDaily
      @AdventureDaily  6 років тому

      +Deric Watson Hmm if you plan on financing you might as well just pay a little bit extra for the SF. But if you are paying cash for a brand new one at the dealer you will get screwed with tax and fees so I'm not sure on that one..

    • @doitwithderic1170
      @doitwithderic1170 6 років тому +1

      Sorry should have said that. The used is at a dealer also...will be cash either way. I expected tax, but what other “fees” should I expect. Thx!

    • @AdventureDaily
      @AdventureDaily  6 років тому +1

      Deric Watson Well it depends on the stealership hopefully just tax and title fees, some charge assembly, etc.

    • @doitwithderic1170
      @doitwithderic1170 6 років тому +1

      Gotcha, thx man, I’ll find out the details from them. I grew up riding dirt bikes, 4 wheelers etc and sold me street bike when I got married. With 3 kids depending on me, I think the Grom may scratch the riding itch just messing around the neighborhood and town with a little less risk than getting another big bike. Your videos are really good...and don’t have a bunch of trash language so my 11 yr old son can watch with me!!

    If you're going to do something like that, you should at least spray over it with something like truck bed liner that way it doesn't have a wood appearance at all and it's more weather resistant.

      It's mounted using 4 screws with washers, coming through the top of the 4 holes left under the seat screwed directly into the wood. I hope that helped and good luck with the project!

    Really nice. If youre doing it again sometime, consider using a thick black nylon cuttingboard instead of wood - they are only like 10$, easier to work with and you can modify without having to repaint. Can even get a pretty decent finish on them with abit of work

    please do not make your subcage out of wood don't know if I would have went with wood only because when it gets wet things do happen to Wood I guess it was pretty creative I want with a hot bodies Fender Eliminator kit and made my own bracket so my plate tucks under and flips back so you can't see my plate and when I want you to see it I flip it forwards

    You’re forgetting to take into account how much machinery for making a “piece of bent” metal costs. Or the amount of research you need to do to get it done and looking nice it. And to texture and color match. You get what you pay for. Lol probably why this looks like shit up close. A lot better than the fender tho

    Wood,,,, ah hell NO! Your garage is FULL of metal stuff. Wood is a poor vibration manager. Bikes are made of metal because of how steel/aluminium handles vibration One piece of 3/16th's steel or Aluminium. Cut into a "T" with each side about 6 inches by 4 inches. Bend the vertical midway to 30 degrees. Bend each side 1.5 inches in. Find your OEM fender screws and remount the "NEW" plate holder. Drill for OEM plate light mount and holes on each side for OEM blinker lights. Connect electricals, and plate. GET OUT OF YOUR GARAGE and RIDE. Hopefully this wood obsession will disappear with the ride thrills. Your welcome.
