- How To Install Fender Eliminator Kits
www.revzilla.c...
A fender eliminator kit is one of the easiest ways to clean up the way your bike looks. Ditch the comically large stock hanger and replace it with a fender eliminator kit. Also called a fender delete, undertail kit, or tail tidy, these kits look good, shave weight (maybe), and tuck your plate and signals in closer to the bike. With Spurgeon’s guide, your bike will be looking slim and trim in no time.

Few things Kawasaki 650 2017 (I had to take the side panels off to get access to the wires to disconnect, and there is a screw that held the fender up so I couldnt just slide it through easily in the video - it was in a awkward place).
I bought the DMP fender eliminator kit with LED and I wish you went more step by step in the wiring of the license plate light.
Kawasaki and Honda made horrible choices putting that giant fish tail looking thing to hang your license plate..!!! OMG
Suzuki too
yup, my hyosung has this too 😅 its so ugly, i really wanna get a fender eliminator for looks obviously
They have to for DOT regulations
Those Yoshimura kits are notorious for failing LED license plate lights. The little bracket that lights up the plate has four little bulbs if you will. After 2 years or so, they start failing, who knows why ..
On my kit, in 5 years time, that piece had to be replaced two times. The first time two of the four LED bulbs failed, and the second time, the two random lights failed again and then after a week, the whole thing did not have any lights up.
First time I replaced it myself, then I thought, let me have a professional connect things again for the wire and mount it.. no difference.
And the piece is like $45... wtf? Money making scheme (no, they won’t take warranty since it expires...)
Answered my question right at the beginning of the vid, BUT I did notice not having the rear fender means more water/mud gets flinged on & over the tail when rolling over it. Still, I'd rather have the fender off. Thanks for the vid!
Can you PLEASE make a video on how to install a side car?!!?
Or at least give a guide to what side-cars to choose from? I've been watching your videos for almost 2 years and have yet to see a video of one. I'd like to see one RevZilla-style please!
Thank you!
I mean, I think they make videos for the bigger markets of their community... There's probably about 6 people who watch them that actually want a sidecar.
Views make the news. Plenty of people (myself included) would love watching that tutorial, regardless of our actual desire to put it together. Sidecars rock.
Everybody must check out: Sit Stay Ride: The Story of America's Sidecar Dogs
Is it really necessary to cut the license bulb wire? Could you just wrap it up or something??
Just installed one on my ninja 300 a few months back looks so much better.
will hurt to let the blinkers fast?
I dont know what kind of name "Spurgeon" is. But it sure as hell sounds cool.
"Sperg"
Sport bike surgeon.
more like spurg your cash
Looks so much better 👌
Anybody know about the following...
Oklahoma has a law that states:
OSC Title 47, Chapter 12, Article 6, Section 12-609 Required equipment
"4. A fender over each wheel. All fenders shall be of the type provided by the manufacturer"
Sounds like this might not be quite above board there.
If you are registered in a different state, this shouldn't be an issue if you are just passing through (Route 66!), right?
rs232killer, the applicable laws vary by state, and as such, YMMV.
Most, if not all, officers in Oklahoma really don't personally care whether you have a fender eliminator or not. So long as they can see your plate, lights, etc. You may run into a fresh rookie with a stick up his ass, but you can talk your way out of it by telling them it's that way when you got it.
Holy moly you sound like Saul Goodman
does it hold up European license plates?
Do i have to unplug the battery?
Dam Spurge? I just replaced, again, 3 times between front and rear. ..the nasty long cheap oems..took 1 out with a flying rock the other just walking around the bike. and then somebody clipoed one in the parking lot...need small neat rear set and front flush mounts..06 CBRF4I ...gotta do it.
what afermarket exausts did you have in this video?
Just got a kit for my 2022 cb300r (Amazon/China brand). No instructions and didn’t seem to fit right with the 4 main bolts holding the bracket up. The wiring was also too short and the one connector from the new bracket (tail light) was a male when it seemed like it should’ve been female (sorry don’t know terms for the wiring in this case).
I didn’t do any cutting or soldering, not sure I want to do that on my own in case I mess it up.
Probably going to order a better kit in the end. Anyone have any recommendations for a 2022? And who could I go to for installation if I decide not to do it myself?
Thanks for any suggestions everyone.
Spurgeon, thanks for the video dude. Favour to ask, can you list what you installed so I can add to cart and purchase from Zilla. Got the same bike
TheFayeezy dude you can add your bike on revzilla and just find it. Not that hard.
Oh look, a snowflake.
Hey, no problem! Here are links to all of the specific parts we used for the Ninja 400:

www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/yoshimura-universal-turn-signal-bracket-kit
www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/rizoma-action-turn-signal (Need two of these as they are sold in singles)
Thanks for watching and I hope you're digging the new bike!!
Cheers,
Spurg
Awesome, thank you for posting the link!!
No worries, enjoy!
Could it be Used for the zx10r?
What is that connector you were using to splice the 2 wires? It had solder in it that melted with the heat gun.
Noclpro they usually come with the kit, I got the yoshimura one for my ninja, there were 2 in the kit
They're connectors that are included with the Yosh kit. Just apply heat from the heat gun and you're set to go. They were the easiest wiring connectors I've ever seen.
Fantastic motorcycle!!!!
How much would you say this kit saves in terms of weight?
Specifically for the Ninja 400, it might save a pound of two. -DrewZilla
Revzilla went down for a second, i kept getting 502 bad gateway, or am i the only one who experienced that
How about I link all the parts.
Beter than the stock 👍
Is there a legal or bureaucratic reason why almost every bike manufacturer makes the plate holder stick out almost towards the end of the tire necessitating a tail tidy?
Moto Nirvana to avoid water splashing while riding in rain
DOT requires motorcycles to be sold with a fender that will aid in debris coming off the rear tire this creating a danger for the vehicle following.
In addition to DOT regulations, some states actually require, by statute, that the license plate is *behind* the motorcycle’s rear tire.
@@YoshimuraUSA While appreciated, I'd almost rather have that so cars would back off; it's already dangerous enough for us. Maybe that would backfire--idk...
Had that been said?
Im fith lol... love your videos
What fender eliminator kit is that?
As mentioned at 1:34, it's the Yoshimura kit for the Ninja 400. I've linked it below. -DrewZilla

where's lemmy!?
He was off building a mini-bike! -DrewZilla
👍
I got the NRC for my XSR900. Looks cool, but not worth it - cheap Chinese tat with no instructions.
Tail tidy is an oxymoron.
"Keep in mind that installing this kit" makes your bike illegal in most places.
0YouCanCallMeAl0, I’m not sure about “most places”, but yes, it will be illegal in *many* places.
(Caveat Emptor, YMMV, verify the laws in your jurisdiction, etc.)
FIRST 🙋🙋
Uh oh, you sure?
RevZilla HI DUDE MAKE A VIDEO OF RACING KIT
I drive even when it rains... So no thanks. Looks good though.
WHEN you eliminate your fender, the bike looks terrible. it looks as if it is missing something. The fender also prevents stone and other road debris from flying off of your tire into other vehicles behind you. eliminating your fender is a terrible idea.
ROB NAVAEI wrong. looks way better. will be the next thing to come from the factory.
Modustollens1 Most geniuses are in the minority in many groups.
Looks ugly as fuck with a massive one hanging down lmao
@Modustollens1 because most riders are fucking idiots who wanna look like Rossi and make noise. Real bikers ride in the rain.
Boosted Brian, DOT regulations require that every new motorcycle sold come with fenders. As a result, it won’t be “the next thing to come from the factory”.
It's YoshimUra, not YoshimIra. Same relates to the Arkapovich, have some respect towards the manufacturer.
I I Jesus calm the fuck down. Your just like one of those people that say aNON is correct then Anon.
Yeah because I guess buying the companies product and using it for thousands of miles means you have lack of respect for the company lmao smh
This whining about pronunciation from someone declaring another to be a snowflake, zzz.
@@Eunostos saw that shit too lmfao
