Hi Peter. Your response was so entertaining. Learned about new bands and your recollection of history of your collection spot on. Glenn has been a reason some cd box sets are in mine 😊. Merry Christmas 🎁
Thank you for the kind words! I think Miko, my cat, wants to regularly appear sitting on me. I'll pop over and check if you've done a response yet. Merry Christmas to you, too!
Loved the opening Peter. Good to laugh a bit. Great that you, like me, could show your first CD 😊 Awww... and my name is mentioned. Needed that little cheer thank you. Oh yeah, those are so damned annoying. "Hey, it's ok that you need to break this to play it, right?" Band on the Run cover is the best. I kept that poster on my wall once upon a time. It was recorded in Lagos. Thank you for the excellent video Peter.
@@MortenAastad I appreciate you watching two of my long videos, Morten! You must have had some free time, eh? I had a bit of time on Sunday when I had to be Santa, so I decided to have some fun! I really liked your comments about jewels cases and digipaks. I almost could have stolen them. Band on the Run was a nice addition to my collection. Have a great New Years, Morten!
So many tags this time of year in the VC I am finding! I have been selling off my CD's via my ebay page for some time, since I have just about all of them uploaded in many places for years, but I am keeping a few choice ones. My first CD player I got in 1984. I think it was a Sony, something like $500, and as big as my kitchen table! There definitely still is an audience out there for this format (as my ebay page can attest) and although I have not gone down this road in a long time, you never know. I do have a little single CD player I use on occasion. As always, great video, Peter! Oh, my first CD was Whitney Houston's debut. I've come a long way! 😎🎶
@@onmyturntable7036 Hey, Ed! Looks like you got started on this tag right here in the comments! I’m going to record my year end video tonight or tomorrow and I heard you have a tag of six questions out there. I’ll see about including that somehow. Whitney Houston, eh? I don’t judge. She had a great voice!
@@7BobbyGaylor7 Hey, Bobby! I just listened to Gold Medal yesterday, and to Spend the Night! Fun stuff from boy crazy girls. Opeth is fantastic! I was listening to favourites from their catalogue as well. Hope your New Year’s is wonderful!
Great response. I love your sense of humor…very much like mine. CDs are great. I still buy them more than vinyl. Moody Blues! Yes! I’m still looking for a copy of that on vinyl. lol.
Thank you, Chris. I really appreciate you watching and commenting. I think you were my official gateway into the VC, and my UA-cam life has changed dramatically since then. I hardly visit Facebook and Instagram anymore. This is my preferred social media now. Ha ha! I hope you have a great Christmas!
Merry Christmas Peter! I do really like Sloan. Looking to pick up Between The Bridges. Love the opening of your video🙂 Miko appears to be an outstanding cat.
@@vinylshawn4757 Merry Christmas, Shawn! Thank you for taking time out of your Christmas to watch! I’m glad to hear you like Sloan. I hope you’ll enjoy Between the Bridges. Miko is both outstanding and upstanding, the latter when she’s up standing on the back of my neck!
Excellent response. Appreciate the humor :) Glad to hear thegrowl are back in Opeth, as Åkerfeldt's harsh vocals are fantastic. I have a couple of Santers regords. Good band. Happy holidays :)
Yes, it was Åkerfeldt's harsh vocals that got me into appreciating death metal. I'm surprised you have Santers! I heard they had a little promotion in Europe back in the day. A happy holidays to you, too!
@ I literally just randimly grabbed a 2nd Santers record while buying some cheap hard rock records online. I think it was 'Racing Time'. All I knew was it was hard rock (from the seller's description) and then I liked the cover art. Turned out I liked the music too :D
Hey Peter! I remember reading (a long, long time ago) that Dire Straits', 'Brothers in Arms' was the first fully recorded/mixed/mastered digital CD. I saw Blood Ceremony open for Ghost back in 2010 or 2011. Enjoyable video as usual. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Hey, Steve! I might have read something about the Dire Straits album as well. But if you'd asked me, I wouldn't have been able to answer. Yes, I remember you said you saw Blood Ceremony open for Ghost. Their sound has evolved since those days. Less bombastic heavy and more late sixties pop prog with heavy-sounding riffs still in there. Merry Christmas to you and yours, too!
Hey Peter, I knew Sloan would most likely make an appearance. I also noticed some Kathleen Edwards in your cheeky intro. I still need to get that album.
@@NorthernRevolutions Yeah, Sloan is a band that can’t escape from my channel. I remember you mentioning Kathleen Edwards and then Glen Kellaway did too. I have two albums of hers now and I really love some of the songs! So thanks to you and Glen!
interesting intro!!!! Black Mountain. Not familiar with that band, but there is a Black Mountain 20-odd miles north of where I live that was a staple cycle training route back in the day. not to be confused with the Black Mountains (plural) which are in the east of Wales!
Hi, Nick! I'm not surprised you have some Black Mountains in the UK. I don't find the name very original for a band, but I like the music on that album. And I'm glad to know it brought back cycling memories for you.
