Her voice in this movie was slightly closer to what her "regular" voice was before her Marilyn persona. Probably because she was playing a serious role that wasn't that type. It's beautiful, and she was really special and heartbreaking in this.
Yes she has her real voice too in her next movie Niagara because it was a drama and she created her baby voice for Gentlemen Prefers Blonds. She tasted a New style for comedy and she never could quite it because it was a great success...
I was MESMERIZED by her in this role. This is a Marilyn I never knew existed. When she was applauded for her acting in 'Bus Stop' a 'serious' movie I hated the movie, the play and the role and above all the direction of the wretched Joshua Logan. This is simply her best dramatic film.
@@poetcomic1 Yes this was a Marilyn performance that always stuck with me, ever since I first saw it on TV about 25 years ago. So different from the roles she is best known for.
This was always one of my favorite performances by Marilyn, ever since I first saw it on television, on AMC or TCM, about 25 years ago. I wish she had been able to do more dark dramatic roles like this.
I actually preferred her acting in all of the earlier films than the later ones. Poor thing was so insecure about her abilities and didn't need to be...jeez there was probably SO much Gladys in this that she was projecting...things she witnessed first hand.
This movie is a true classic. Marilyn's role is fenomenal and really shows that she could play a lot of different roles! She truly is special, i wish she was still with us! Also, old movie trailers were so much better than modern ones :)
I dont understand why shes not taken seriously as a dramatic actress at the beginning of her career before all those dumb blonde roles?!?!? Shes good here! Just such a shame that she was not taken seriously as she should be.
Because dramatic actresses didn’t make as much money and publicity as sex bombs did. Besides roles for women back then we’re limited to arm candy for men, mistresses/mothers/wives/grannys, or psychotic menece like here. Rarely did we see strong women or feminists heros in action. Than came later
Excelente filme, muchas gracias por el trailer, siempre encantado y feliz al ver un nuevo video dedicado a la mujer más que ha caminado sobre este mundo
She was so good in this movie. It's a shame that she had to fight to get out of the comedies that she was pigeon holed into. She was a great dramatic actress right from the beginning.
Mark, why there are no subtitles in this video? I can't understand well what she say( but i am trying) Thanks Mark for your work, we all appreciate it!!! Sorry for my English)
Her role in this movie always seemed to reflect many of the personal and psychological problems in her real life, which makes her performance even more resonant, in hindsight.
Jd.
1952: Marilyn Monroe, Richard Widmark, Elisha Cook Jr., and Anne Bancroft .This should be a classic, however as is often the case the script doesn't live up to the acting, bordering on ridiculous.
There's this photo of external fire damage around a two story room's window, I am in the foreground on the roof of a two story restaurant. Restaurant owner shot it with his nice camera. We were a hundred yards away, and commented on why it was so noticeable months after the fire I fought there. MARILYN was a great actress who knew how to handle a dramatic role."Don't Bother to Knock" is certainly one of her best movies.👑🌟
One of my favorite Marilyn movies! Anyone who said she couldn't handle a dramatic role was out of thier minds.
My favorite of all her roles. I always tear up for her at the end. Her having to realize again that her fiancee died years ago was so heartbreaking.
Spoiler Alert much!? Ugh lmao I'm joking btw 🙃
Her most underrated film.
Watch this movie the other day with my daughter she was great in it love Marilyn forever ❤️🌹💋
I remember the first time I saw this movie. I was so surprised by it at the time. 🕊️❤️
Wonderful acting by Marilyn Monroe, she is just amazing😍😍. Thank you for sharing this video with us and keep up the good work👍👍
Whay whay ahead of her time as an actress...she was so underated because of her beauty..just adorable.
She was brilliant in this film. So much depth and pathos she rarely got another chance to show.
She's really Talented and Beautiful in this movie 😍😘💘🌹
The scene where she puts the earrings on 😍
😍😍😍😍😍✨✨✨✨✨✨✨👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This was one movie Marilyn got to show her acting talent and not just the "dumb blonde" they soon tried to stereotype her into. Bravo Marilyn 💫⭐💋
Thank U for give us a few minutes of great actress and most beautiful woman
She looks here amazing!!! Her hairstyle and dress wow,!!!
This was always one of my favorite performances by Marilyn, ever since I first saw it on television, on AMC or TCM, about 25 years ago. I wish she had been able to do more dark dramatic roles like this.
Thank you MMVA. This is a great film. It shows that MM could really act. 👍🇬🇧🇺🇸🎥
TIMELESS
WOW Marilyn looks great in this. Such a pleasant change to see her doing a dramatic part which she pulls off with aplomb.
I actually preferred her acting in all of the earlier films than the later ones. Poor thing was so insecure about her abilities and didn't need to be...jeez there was probably SO much Gladys in this that she was projecting...things she witnessed first hand.
I agree, I wish she had taken (or been given) more dark dramatic roles like this. I actually think she could have played villains really well.
@@seanbeckett4019 definitely! She kind of portrayed a villain of sorts in Niagra

True beauty.. Cant compare to these days beauty.
Not to burst your bubble but- Marilyn, just like women nowadays, had work done and was not all natural- this is common knowledge
Tão linda. Foi a vai ser sempre lembrada por seu trabalho e carreira uma super mulher que quebrou tabus e ensinou ver o mundo diferente.
Why the hell she took any acting classes? She was a natural.
She was so good in this movie. It's a shame that she had to fight to get out of the comedies that she was pigeon holed into. She was a great dramatic actress right from the beginning.
She was the epitome of femininity.

" What a woman " every inch of her are so feminine! 🌹🦋❤️
The director's name was Baker. Her mother was in an institution when they filmed this. It must have been so triggering to Norma Jeane.
Her role in this movie always seemed to reflect many of the personal and psychological problems in her real life, which makes her performance even more resonant, in hindsight.
Vejo ela como mulher que lutou e poderia lutar mais ainda mais não deu te amo Marilyn.
If her eyes, voice and body language don't mesmerize you, you're not ok.
Marilyn tout te va ❤️❤️💋💋🕊️🕊️
