@selfeducational You could do that...if you edited every single frame in photoshop. It would be much easier to actualy make the lights blink as shown, assuming you know a thing or two about electronics. All you would have to do is build a box (or a few boxes, considering the number of lights) to translate, say, midi signals from a computer to signals to control the lights. Then, all you need to do is create a midi track to play 'notes' along with the music that correspond to the lights.
@plzforgiveme987 If he's happy, and we're happy watching it, then it isn't really a 'waste'. It's a performance - no more wasted than anyone doing art, acting, dancing, singing, standup comedy, etc. The brain power is impressive; if he doesn't already use it at work, I'd hope he finds a job where he can.

If you look at his website you'll see the homeowners association outlawed his displays. Not because of the lights and the music, but because of the huge crowds they attracted and the mess and damage of the crowds. Not because of anything he did, but because people are assholes.

I'm sure the neighbors are getting tired of taking all the bodies to the hospital after they've had seizures...

@ericlinebaugh I *think* it's transmitted via radio for people in their cars normally, but I'm not sure. I think that's how the Christmas version of the house was done a few years back, at least.

@Potatoeslice95 We figured they have about 5k invested in this which can be used for Christmas too. The controllers I have found are around $169 a piece for a 16 output controller. That one controller can control one of the light strips. There are about 9 light strips on the house alone. That doesn't include the strobes, icicles, and faces. The strips, multi-colored are about the same price. You get the point. The place I found to buy them is out of stock.
@My3rZ What don't you understand about noise regulations? My god. Do you want to know why the sound quality is amazing? Because it was edited over the video, not from outdoor speakers. Go ahead and set this up with speakers outside. I'd like to see how long you'd last before getting a NOISE COMPLAINT! Ive been to many of houses like these and for EVERY SINGLE ONE you have to tune into their fm transmitters. Go check for yourself. And yes, it would just be a light show for people walking.
Idk why everyones crying about electricity.... do you really think its using all that much? I bet those are LEDs for the most part that use hardly anything, And seeing as how the rest of the house is dark while this is going on hes probably breaking even at the high end. Its not like he has 1000 refrigerators kicking on and off in sync with the music... I didnt see any of you tree huggers complain that the dave mathews band concert used to much electricity.....

Your displays are amazing. It's awful that a few neighbors ruined it for everyone else that loves your creative and hard work. I would NEVER live in an area that had a home owner's association, for that, and other reasons. You paid for your home, they have NO right to tell you how to decorate!
I hope you will include Sandstorm now you have your new LED lights (Halloween 2011). Although I admire and applaud the other Light Shows on here the Light Shows, IMHO, put on by KJ92508 are the best.....absolutely awesome!!

@joelx615 i read the description on one of there other videos. This would prolly cost alot if you ran it 24/7 and it would also get boring to passing bystanders. Also, the videos he makes are when he has the street blocked off and nobody can walk or drive by while hes filming
@imbetterthanu2 yes, but if it's not an FM transmitter, that would mean it would be speakers so that people walking by can hear the music. If this is set up for when kids ring the doorbell, why would he not have speakers? They need to hear the music they are watching

@IMTHEMONSTA most people that do shows like this have short range am/fm transmitters that you tune into through your cars radio. i know there is a house in louisiana that does something similar every year for christmas called "throwback lights" look him up
@manwithplan61 - if they tune into the radio frequency used for the display they can appreciate it more.... There is one of these houses in the area where I live that does this for Christmas it is sponsored by the toys for tots program.

Yeah light o rama sells the radio transmitter so people who do this don't violate noise ordinances. Plus they tend to ask the neighbors about the light show before starting it and just do it for a few hours each night.
dude that shit is fucking awesome.... keep that up and continue with the techno.... the techno makes the lights just that much better they also have songs with voices that will blow them pumpkins in the window up

Homeowners associations are above the law. A local one is doing drug deals and making kickbacks from drug dealers so nobody is allowed to have any cameras facing outwards of there own homes.
@justinkicksass2 Its only limited to one show per night. He also replaced all of the incandescent light bulbs with LEDs for 2011. That means, that the power consumption is next to none. Research please.
