Reasons to watch this channel. 1. Unaffiliated. I don't do affiliate links for bag makers, participate in bag maker affiliate programs, make money from collaborations with bag makers, or accept sponsorships from bag makers. Ever. Period. I do use Amazon affiliate links, and will gladly accept sponsors who are not bag makers.... BMW, call me. 2. Variety - Because I don't depend on affiliate marketing - I am free to explore the entire world of bags. You will see more types of bags and more makers on this channel than anywhere else. You won't see repetitive content about the same bags and makers. You'll see current stuff, discontinued stuff, and vintage stuff as well. 3. Unique Taste - I am a little quirky and love quirky bags. You'll see all kinds of colorways and fun stuff from all over the world. I seek out all the unusual esoterica from the bag world and bring it to you. 4. Authenticity - always one take. Always just me, you, the bag and the camera. I'm committed to keeping the format simple and authentic. 5. Balance - always a walkthrough; always things I like and things that could. be better...every time.
You have become the only channel I watch to feed my bag addiction. If I'm interested in a particular bag I always look to see if you've reviewed it. I look forward to your new reviews.
Klint, I have the utmost respect for you and what you do! I do hope you continue to do collaboration bags every once in a while. I love seeing what creators like you come up with in bags that you would put your name on.
I've got a few cooking right now! And I 100% won't make any money off the bag. I'm asking that any portion that would normally go to the collaborator is donated to charity.
I'm extremely glad you have this approach, and I'm extremely glad you're so outspoken and clear about this approach-- and also, i find it completely wild that this is not standard. It is wild to me that when I search for, for example, a mechanical keyboard review, the first result is often a guy saying "hey, this company paid me to make this video about their keyboard, but don't worry! Even though this is an ad for their product, and there is a link to buy the product that will give me additional money in the description, I'm TOTALLY NEUTRAL, and they haven't even seen this video before it's bene posted!" So many "reviewers" on youtube are just freelance marketers.
Klint I am commenting without even finishing the video but I’ll tell you the main reason I trust your reviews. You are passionate about bags and sharing information, and you seem like a no BS guy. It’s purely authentic. No fakery and no nonsense. Keep up the fantastic work brother.
Love watching your reviews regardless of whether or not the featured bag interests me. Your authenticity and joy for what you do comes through the camera and really makes it feel like having a conversation between two friends! I knew you dared to be something different way back when you seemed to be the only reviewer that said the Evergoods CPL wasn't worth the price (of course I think you've revised your feeling on that since - especially with the Griffin Edition).
Why do I watch this channel? Well, I wouldn't have the bags I have now without it. This is my definitive channel for bag reviews because he isn't swayed by sponsors.
The is awesome appreciate all your reviews and being this transparent. Keep up,the great reviews of course they also seem to make me spend money but have found some great makers
You always interest me, Klint, and I start each morning on UA-cam and looking to see if you submitted something I haven't seen yet (or maybe missed from the past). Either way, I like hearing your thoughts and seeing whatever you decide to share. Keep up the great work, bud. It isn't as great as a superb cup of coffee but it is still a great way to start the day. :)
@@ThePerfectBag By the way, Klint, the perfect daily carry for me is a sling in a shape that I don't see reviewed very often. I guess I'm different than most folks but I like more of a triangular shaped sling (without the straight angles). I'm also a bit odd in that I usually wear it over just my right shoulder unless I'm on a longer walk. Something like the Keep Pursuing sling is almost exactly what I love most. I have a few of them actually but wish they were just a liter or two larger in capacity. The Kargo Loculus is super but it is just a little too 'boxy' for my taste and doesn't hang as well as the Keep Pursuing sling due to that shape. If you come across something like this perfect one shoulder sling, I promise to watch it twice and I'll buy you a cup of coffee so you can start the day nicely, too.
Hey Klint it's awesome that you are being so transparent, I have two questions... 1) In your description you have an affiliated link for zipper pulls. Arguably this is very closely related to bags and should not be affiliated. Where do you draw the line between bags and non bags products? What about shoulder straps and hip belts for example? 2) What's your stance on edc pouches, are they considered unaffiliated? It's another grey area... thanks 😊
Great question. Here's my take. If it's on Amazon, I'm using my Amazon affiliate links. The entity paying me money is Amazon, Google, Wal-Mart, etc. that's how I've run things. It's as simple of a line as I can draw. That does mean that even a bag sometimes is an Amazon affiliate link. What I won't do is ever take money from a bag maker - and that includes pouches. I would consider a sponsorship from an edc maker like a pocket knife or a belt company or something - but never a bag maker. Hope that makes sense and your feedback is welcome
The first one that comes to mind is Chase Reeves..........I had to give up watching him about 1.5 years ago because of these reasons. Not to mention being over the top high and philosophical.
when you watch other channels you start noticing they mention the same specific bag features hinting that it's that sketchy sponsored type off a script - the new hyped material name (but it's just some variation of an already existing material) + some attempt at making us believe it is actually sustainably manufactured. but on this channel you sometimes go off on how cool 1 tiny bag feature is for 5 minutes straight because that is what mattered and pushed the envelope of bag making - i think that's one of the values of this channel - that you get people thinking what are things to look out for in a bag and what to consider, not just if you should buy bag in question. i think a good example of the same value is what i get from james hoffman, a coffee youtuber who reviews coffee machines and accessories and stuff but still leaves you with the logic of how he came to the conclusion of his review and how it is relevant to the context of the bigger picture. of course i don't have the money to buy thousand plus dollar coffee equipment he sometimes shows, but now i know what are features to expect at certain price points.
thanks so much - yeah....I care less about whether you buy anything I share...and more about whether or not the bag is interesting and what's interesting about it. Because sales don't matter, interesting content matters...and that's win win for audience and me.
An idea for your channel or webpage: You probably get people wondering (if not asking), "Wow, what's that orange one (camo, black w/neon green, etc.)??" Could be neat if you had a link from any given video to how the wall was at the time (on your webpage); hovering over any given bag in that Wall o' Bags image could then link back to any associated YT video review you've done for it. Might be fun for the viewers and get some bonus views of prior content too. Anyhow, thanks for this one on Greenroom.
Great stuff. Would love to see you do more videos on bags from any of the following brands: Tom Bihn, Kavu, TomToc, Baggu, Flowfold, Rareform, Le Sportsac, Calpak, Manhattan Portage, Muji, Topo, Rough Enough...
I completely agree with all the reasons to watch your channel because I like your delivery, quirky taste, and not affiliated. But lately, I haven’t been watching because I see the bags and it is kind of expensive and out of my price range.
Do you have any suggestions on dungeons and dragons themed messenger bags? I love table top games and bags, so I need your help. Love your channel and expertise. Thanks!
I came to your channel after feeling disappointed with Nomads Nation's transparency and conflicts of interest. I'm glad this channel is different, and I do trust your reviews over theirs.
I appreciate you watching! For the record I like Aaron a lot and have enjoyed his channel over the years. Good dude. I’m sure there are viewers that go the other way - and leave my channel because they’re tired of me rambling and the lack of polish! :)
I’ve considered that, but landed on staying within youtube…so I have channel memberships set up, and as that grows will be producing members only videos.

Take this and do a bag review on the Leaper Retro Crossbody Messenger Sling and/or the BASICPOWER Crossbody Messenger Sling. Thanks!
You're pretty amazing. Going to buy now.
Order placed - will test it out - thanks for the recommendation and support.
First! And yes I appreciate that you buy your bags and are not sponsored by any bag companies. Your enthusiasm is genuine!
appreciate you!

Mixed emotions on it still. The Griffin is epic. I love it. The regular……………..still too much money for me I think.
Been watching you for a few months and subbed. Like your content and energy. Bought 2 custom bags from Greenroom cuz of you, thanks!
Love this channel and the work you do!
Thank you!

Heard! More cheap bags in queue.

Hmmmm. Heroes and villains comes to mind - heroesvillains.com/collections/dungeons-dragons/products/dungeons-and-dragons-dnd-builtup-backpack
But that's not a messenger....
Bag of holding - www.amazon.com/dp/B0DG6WMGNK/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_PRSKJ4WAYZC5003P37CD?linkCode=ml2&tag=klintarnold00-20
I can no longer watch other reviewers that are given bags or sponsored as it's basically an advert for the brand
Much prefer how u do it
Thank you for sharing that. Being transparent about finances engenders trust. How are you going to handle doing collaborations with bag makers?
When I do a collaboration, I will take no percentage of the sales. I will insist that a percentage of the sales goes to Charity instead.
That's how I handled it with my first collaboration and it seemed to work
Sporting the Freddy Mercury look in the thumbnail?
I'll take that!

I’ve considered that, but landed on staying within youtube…so I have channel memberships set up, and as that grows will be producing members only videos.
And thank you for the suggestion!
@@ThePerfectBag I didn’t even notice that. Now I have to figure out how they work.
