I was in Daiso today and got some little liquid containers that you use for bento boxes and are used for sauces. They come in tiny sizes like .10 oz, .20 oz, .46 oz, up to 1.83 oz. They are perfect to use for tiny amounts and sell for $1.75 each pack. The smaller packs have 12 bottles, the next size has 9, the largest has 3. : )
I picked up the tray table cover during the last Prime Day. I fly 2X a month and that is my favorite travel idem of this year! FYI. It also can go into washing machine and hang dry between flights.

I thought of a couple more ideas for overcrowded liquids bags. 1) If you do not have finicky hair, a small bottle of Sea to Summit Wilderness Wash can be used as body was, shampoo, laundry soap, and to wash dishes (even in a hotel, I have my spoon and cook mug to wash out a few times a day, and I hand wash a few items in the hotel sink every evening). Also, a Trader Joes shampoo bar is under $4. You can buy one before your trip, use it for both body and hair, and either put it in a soap bag or ziploc to bring home or, if you don't want to bother, at less than $4 you can afford to just toss it at the end of your travels. Smells great too!
That 11 pocket fanny pack is so perfect for festivals, markets, etc. Mine worked so well for me during powwow weekend, I went back home and got 3 more in different colours - including a dressy front one. That neck fan is a must for powwow weekend too!!

I also like the memobottle A6 reusable flat water bottle. It fits well in a belt bag, some purses, the airplane seat pocket, and the outer pockets of the striped backpack you have. It’s very sturdy. The occasional TSA agent thinks it a flask though!
I love love love my Phoozy phone case protector. I attached a name-tag lanyard to the ring and wear it around my neck for easy access to snap pictures, or use the phone while touring, or at DisneyWorld.

Definitely a hard sided suitcase person! First used one over 30 years ago and find them so good! The men's toiletry kit is great - going to get that for one my husband's Christmas presents. Also ordered all those little square bags - so many uses for them, and also, even though I have a great Turtl pillow, the one you can stuff with clothing is a great idea if you're traveling light.

I've also gotten a cord case in gray, and a cute makeup case in black. I'm just determined to relax on this trip and for once, not overpack and overcarry. Another recent trip found me struggling to carry my heavy purse. Never again. Completely unnecessary. Thanks for so many great tips!

Great ideas! I use Cadence containers for vitamins, shampoo, etc. They are magnetic and can take extreme temperatures. They don't leak either so I travel without worry. I use the same containers for daily meds/vitamins so I'm getting the most from the cost of the containers.

Laurie, I bought the eyeglass case you recommended at 15:30 when it was mentioned in one of your earlier videos. I love it for everyday. I keep my prescription glasses on one side for when I remove my contacts, and then my sunglasses on the other. I love how it protects them but doesn't take up a huge amount of space in my purse. Thanks for making me aware of it.

I have an open top large leather tote from Coach. The way I deal with the open top is to put a zipper packing cube in it and everything stays securely snug inside..

I took a peak at your Amazon air plane travel essentials list. Glad I did. I found aTSA Approved Medical Diabetic Travel Cooler Carry Case. It has good reviews and has a temperature gage in the cylinder lid. As long as the gel pack is frozen solid, not problems. Can keep pens cold for up to 8 hours. Yeah!!!

Just wanted to thank you for always giving great tips to minimize the nerves when traveling. I just returned from traveling solo to meet up with my son (and then rented a car to sightsee as we headed home). I wanted to only bring a carry-on and personal bag. Going through security was easy because of all your tips. Once through, I moved to the side and took my time putting my shoes back on and getting re-situated. Because it was a full flight and small plane (CRJ), they asked for volunteers to gate check their bag. I decided to do that. Just needed to bring it right up to the plane when boarding and it was pulled off as soon as we landed (didn't need to go to baggage claim). I needed to ask for a belt extender (didn't need it on the same airline, larger plane a few months ago). But that went smooth and I didn't feel uncomfortable asking. The last time I flew, I sat with my daughter so I had someone to hold items as I got settled in my seat. This time, I bought a phone lanyard to put around my neck in the plane so I didn't have to worry about dropping my phone. A big peace of mind. Even when I got to the car rental, I felt comfortable enough to ask the attendant to help me link my GPS. All in all, your videos have helped me get back to enjoying traveling.

That tray table cover and the double sided glasses case are my favourite items that you have suggested this year. I can pack all my in flight essentials into it after security, and it makes the process of getting settled into my seat so quick and easy. Pull disposable gloves on before boarding, have antiseptic wipe already in my hand; get to my seat, haul carry on into overhead bin, wipe down head rest, arm rests, and tray table, stick wet wipe into the produce bag I have wadded into my sleeve, pull prepacked tray table cover out of my underseat bag, push underseater under my seat, pull on tray table cover - the whole process takes about 10 seconds because I'm so well prepared, quicker than most people take just to put up their carry on case. That tray table cover holds my Contigo flask of hot water, glasses case, airplane comfort kit, paperback, kitchen in a bag, and snack bag, so I don't need to touch my personal item bag until we're ready to land and I can just slip the whole airplane kit back into it. It streamlines the boarding and disembarking process immensely.

How go you get hot water in your contigo?
@@michellestevens2454 After I get through security, I go to one of the coffee places and ask them to fill the flask with hot water. If for some reason they won't, I fill the flask with regular water from a fountain, then pull out my immersion coil heater and find a place to plug it in and heat the water up in the flask. Coffee places are usually fine with giving you hot water though.
I got the phone prop mentioned in the video, today from Amazon, and it’s good. Light, and clips easily to my purse for when I will need it. I don’t have a stand built into my phone case, so this double duty product is great.

Will be using it this Dec. for flying in and out of Puerto Vallarta. Only thing is, I do not want to get it dirty sliding it and out and under the seat in front of me. I will need to find a plastic bag the right size to fit it in. :)

That's odd. Someone did tell me on just my last video that sunscreen bottles are specifically designed for sunscreen. I never knew!
By far, most of my air travel has been to visit family. It’s not really a vacation. So I keep toiletries and a few clothing items at my mother’s place and don’t have to pack so much. But these are still helpful hints.
It's so nice when you can keep stuff at a certain vacation spot!
Highly highly recommend switching to bar shampoo and conditioner for travel…so many great options out there!

I don''t think I ever thanked you after my trip. In May I went from Florida to Arizona and had not been on a plane in about 25 years. I went carry on only. It was very smooth sailing. No trouble at all even at the TSA they didn't even ask me to take out my liquids bag or medicine bag. Maybe they could see it on the scanner in my suitcase. Thanks again.

Want to share a tip. I’m headed for 18 day trip to Christmas Markets and London. I have a day/night face routine that includes face wash, exfoliant, 4 serums, 3 moisturizers. So I filled those small containers with my serums, and purchased mini sample size of my moisturizers. Now I’m doing my day/night routine *using my travel containers* for 18 days to see if I can get by with the travel sizes.
Such a great tip to know how many toiletries to pack! I may see you in Brussels.

Those compression cubes have changed my life. I do have to say though, that I ended up buying an expensive top rated carryon after going through about 3-4 of them in the past few years. I find that they just break so easily. The one I bought has a lifetime warranty! I had what I thought was a nice suitcase from Marshalls for my checked bag (I don’t usually check a bag except when I travel for a month or more and work remotely) and my husband used it for a weekend and it came back broken. I’m done with cheap bags. I have the carryon back back you recommended in navy blue and it is very sturdy so far after about five or six round trips. Let’s see. When that goes I may upgrade to the expensive backpack from the same company as the carryon or some other highly recommended more expensive backpack. But I love the compression cubes from amazon and they are inexpensive enough that if they break I won’t be so upset.

Thank you Laurie! I just ordered the Level8 carryon luggage and a set of the compression cubes. What a great deal they were. I have a soft side carry on, but it's not stable when I put the personal item on (which is the stripped back pack!) but the part I don't like about it is, no side handle and at my age, I can lift it, but it's not easy. I also carry camera gear and I'm afraid the soft side will not protect it well enough. Thank you for the reccomendations! Oh did I mention I was almost taken out at the Phx airport because my soft sider was unstable and my backpack shifted, I had to hang onto the escalator for dear life....(I now take the elevator)

I like the convenience, in the airport, with a hard sided 4 wheeled suitcase but I prefer to pack in a soft sided suitcase, I seem to have more room in a soft sided version of the same size.... if that makes sense.
It's so helpful in those airport bathrooms.

Oh, one tip about those 'packable' back packs and jackets - they are meant to pack into their little pockets, but in your carry on bag, they will take up less space if you do not pack them into their pocket but just drape them unfolded over the top of your case once you've packed everything else.

Have used that ohine heat protector? I have. We have a boat & a pool & try as I might to keep my phine in the shade, it's hard & it overheats so I got this. My ohine actually gets hotter in this in the sun than just leaving it in the sun. Its like it insulated the heat. Its also not waterproof.
