- The last time I reviewed a Cravar product it sold out quickly after the video was released, and its easy to see why. A bag made of full-grain vegetable-tanned leather with beautiful edge finishing, solid brass hardware, all for under $400 isn't easy to find. I'm happy to bring you another model from Cravar which follows the same formula as the excellent FC but in a more traditional briefcase style. This Channel has really opened me up to trying things I was hesitant to try. Especially footwear. Ever since my time in the Marines, I've always stuck to hiking boots. Now my Heritage work chukkas are ky second favorite boot. Now I have good bags to add to my collection. My girlfriend says thanks for all your work.

It’s a huge responsibility because I don’t want anyone wasting money on something that I recommend. I’d love to transition to more leather jackets, maybe next fall!

Thanks Carl, this bag looks amazing and it doesn't bring so much attention like some other shiny bags i've seen. My only concern for me personaly is how deep are the two compartments cuz sometimes I take with me bigger books.

What's your opinion on the durability of the handles? Because the handles of the bag I have now ripped because of the weight of my laptop and adapter. I really like this bag, but that's my only concern

I went to indonesia last year and saw the magnitude of their leather industry. There were plenty of pretty good leather goods with fraction of the price of what other countries i visited offered. Indonesia leathers are very underrated. I source some of my leather materials direct from there. Mostly from Java.

Wow, that’s a tough one. The Cravar are more rugged and less “refined” than the Satchel and Page. The Satchel and Page have shiny leather and zippers and that can be a turn off for some. Really it’s BMW and Mercedes though, they’re both excellent

Are you gonna review Cravar Rana camera bag as well? I'm thinking of getting one for camera/daily bag but not sure whether its as great as the FC and Alpha.
Maybe at some point, but I need to review a few other brands first.

@@CarlMurawski I'd be curious what you think of United By Blue. They more do outdoor gear but I got the bag because I like their environmental mission and they're local to Philly so I had to support that too. It's definitely similar looking to filson, organic wax cotton and veg tanned leather.

Hi Carl, a choice between Cravar alpha 13 Fox vs. Satchel and Page Founder? Which one will you choose?
Oh that's a tough one because they're so different. I think the edge goes to the S&P though, it's more refined and the level of finishing is better overall.

Which color did you like better? The espresso or the fox between both bags you have.
Well I like the espresso, but the Fox has begun to darken and wear in beautifully which should look incredible in a few months.

My Cravar just arrived from Indonesia. I live in California. The price on the website was all I paid...nothing more.
Carl, would you chose the Alpha 15 over the Nut Sac Jones 13?
I have both actually, and they're very similar. The Jones 13 is made with leather that scratches and ages MUCH quicker. If you're a patina fan then thats the bag for you, but it's a little smaller than I'd have wanted. It wont fit my laptop, so just keep that in mind.
So which one do you prefer for daily bag from cravar? FC, alpha or Rana?
Oh man... well I’ve only used the Alpha and the FC. I really like the exterior pockets on the FC and find myself using it more even though I like the look of the Alpha more.
In terms of quality materials and craftsmanship, Cravar or Satchel and Page?
