I remember the press in the 80’s writing DD off as nothing more than a pretty boyband who would fad into obscurity. Look at them now. Still on top of their game and selling out arenas world wide when they go on tour. Best band of the 80’s for me by far 👍
Would have been even classier to have Warren since he actually spent more time in the band… But I’m a bitter old fangirl who never dropped the band no matter how low the sales got or how small the gigs were. To see them drop one of their own like they did Warren in order to bring back Andy (who just left yet again), has never set well with me. Still love DD. Always will. They are an indelible part of my identity, so perhaps that’s why it bothered me so much. Warren is/was a crazy talented freak who flew his flag in a way that made some of us fans feel more at home.

Hoping I don't sound condescending but it's always fantastic to see younger people loving DD! I've been a fan since 1981, when I saw them doing 'Girls on Film' on Top of the Pops, I was 8.
Duran Duran is honestly the greatest pop band ever...so it makes me cry with joy that some people somewhere understand that music IS art...and that DUARN DURAN git another well deserved feather in their cap.

The 80's were great if you were in your teens or younger and did not yet have many responsibilities. For those already on their own or for our parents it was one of the tougher times as the economy was in recession and all that. Do not forget-there are some great things from your time a well. And good thing-DD are still around for us to see and buy CDs from.
Duran Duran is, musically-speaking, the band U2 wish they were - still relevant, while constantly challenging themselves. For U2, that ended after Achtung, Baby.

This is THE BEST and funniest video...James Bond with John, The Queen laying down a winning hand and the look on Simon's face...Roger arm-wrestling Kimmy and Nick playing pool.....the Elton penis gun, and Bond in the pool with his pistol. I thought the lookalikes were very good... they seemed flattered to be representing such a handsome crew of guys. Too bad "Putin" was at the party and not some famous American or Brit other than the Queen ... kinda gives me the creeps, unless he is the villain Bond and Elton were after. We were helped by a very spiritual & just downright amazing lass who claimed to be Nick's cousin. If she wasn't, she sure as Hell could have been. My son worshiped anybody that played the synth, so chatting with her about Duran Duran... Nick in general, has been an experience we've never forgotten. I raised both my kids on '80's music. It should be a right of passage into adulthood. Our gen's music was its own history lesson. We were in the midst of a Cold War with 2 insane leaders holding the red button. Had it not been for groups like Duran Duran, I wouldn't have made it through my crazy adoptive family's political tyranny.
Agree with underrated savage part they tapped into archetypes that I at 17 had waiting to be jumping and screaming at my first concert in seattle. I know I had an assigned seat but roamed the stadium preying on whoever and whatever. When rio finally played I stood still where ever I was, I think behind the control console some tented area with blokes and fancy tuning boards 100 yards from stage but.

A good song - a fun video - from a 'boy band' that has been together longer than BSB & N'Sync, and even the Beatles combined! Only one 'boy band' has outlived them, the one that "gathers no moss". Congrats, Duran Duran! I truly enjoyed this.
@@MrModel--CAPTURED-ON-FILM no. maybe we are not talking about the same thing here?. boy bands are groups of guys that don't play instruments, just dance coreographies. they don't write their own songs, and they are made up by producers, based on looks mor than anything. they are a product manufactured for teen girls and usually the music is the least important thing and made by producers appealing to current trends. boy bands don't play a single note on their songs, they just sing and dance, and they usually never sing live for real. the earliest boy band I can think of could be "new kids on the block" in the 80s. maybe we could say the "village people" were a boy band. rock bands like the beatles or the stones were friends that made a band, played instruments, wrote and performed their own music both in the studio and live, and the music wasn't made the lowest common denominator on purpose. they always tried to do different things. the only thing in common was the screaming teenagers but the rest is the total opposite both in intention and execution.

With this album, Duran Duran showed us that you can be much beyond your imperial phase and still be inspired, relevant, sublime and tuned to your best self.
I would have gone stark raving mad without them when I was 14 back in 82-83. They really captured my imagination and I adore. They saved me from loneliness and boredom. Such fun, to this day. Energy, enthusiasm and smarts. And talent!! Love

Really love seeing John and Roger with their look-a-likes from years past. Roger and John (the real ones) really light up which makes the meeting look really cool. All the look-a-likes did a good job, and interestingly Nick's look-a-like is a female.
53 from Nj. Been a fan of Duran since the early 80s. Thank you for great and inspiring music to listen to. Rio will always be one of my favorite albums.
The Album Future Past is.sensational. I can't stop listening to it. They are incredibly talented writers and performers and deserve a lot credit for their pop sensibility and ability to blend beautifully their signature sound with other influences. Graham Coxon on guitar is incredible and seems to relish playing with the band. Arguably the best guitarist they have ever worked with and the best guitar playing of any Duran album. The collaboration with Moroder is also pure indulgence but works so well, It could have been on the Scarface Soundtrack. Duran Duran is a class act and I really think that this is their best album since Rio.
Only problem it is too familiar to the title of the Moody Blues famous album Days of Future Past which came out over 50 years ago and fans still play and buy from that album. The Moody Blues was a band way ahead of their time. They still toured as the Moodies until a few years ago. Now front man/song writer, Justin Hayward, tours solo each year around the world.
I've been with the band since 1983 which is just over 39-1/2 years now and it's our anniversary! I'm rounding up! I LOVE THIS VIDEO and yes, I'm saying it in all caps because DURAN DURAN deserve all caps! They are top gentlemen and the coolest. Who else could make such a fun video?? Duran Duran have pioneered the most classic videos and they remain numero uno today, the absolute best! I have such love for this band. I've seen them play live 22 times and can't wait for more! Much love and admiration for the Wild Boys! Love you eternally! Happy Anniversary! You all look fabulous and make my heart go boom, boom BOOM!

We were helped by a very spiritual & just downright amazing lass who claimed to be Nick's cousin. If she wasn't, she sure as Hell could have been. My son worshiped anybody that played the synth, so chatting with her about Duran Duran... Nick in general, has been an experience we've never forgotten.
I raised both my kids on '80's music. It should be a right of passage into adulthood. Our gen's music was its own history lesson. We were in the midst of a Cold War with 2 insane leaders holding the red button. Had it not been for groups like Duran Duran, I wouldn't have made it through my crazy adoptive family's political tyranny.
Agree with underrated savage part they tapped into archetypes that I at 17 had waiting to be jumping and screaming at my first concert in seattle. I know I had an assigned seat but roamed the stadium preying on whoever and whatever. When rio finally played I stood still where ever I was, I think behind the control console some tented area with blokes and fancy tuning boards 100 yards from stage but.

boy bands are groups of guys that don't play instruments, just dance coreographies. they don't write their own songs, and they are made up by producers, based on looks mor than anything. they are a product manufactured for teen girls and usually the music is the least important thing and made by producers appealing to current trends. boy bands don't play a single note on their songs, they just sing and dance, and they usually never sing live for real. the earliest boy band I can think of could be "new kids on the block" in the 80s. maybe we could say the "village people" were a boy band.
rock bands like the beatles or the stones were friends that made a band, played instruments, wrote and performed their own music both in the studio and live, and the music wasn't made the lowest common denominator on purpose. they always tried to do different things. the only thing in common was the screaming teenagers but the rest is the total opposite both in intention and execution.

53 from Nj. Been a fan of Duran since the early 80s. Thank you for great and inspiring music to listen to. Rio will always be one of my favorite albums.
The Album Future Past is.sensational. I can't stop listening to it. They are incredibly talented writers and performers and deserve a lot credit for their pop sensibility and ability to blend beautifully their signature sound with other influences. Graham Coxon on guitar is incredible and seems to relish playing with the band. Arguably the best guitarist they have ever worked with and the best guitar playing of any Duran album. The collaboration with Moroder is also pure indulgence but works so well, It could have been on the Scarface Soundtrack. Duran Duran is a class act and I really think that this is their best album since Rio.
Only problem it is too familiar to the title of the Moody Blues famous album Days of Future Past which came out over 50 years ago and fans still play and buy from that album. The Moody Blues was a band way ahead of their time. They still toured as the Moodies until a few years ago. Now front man/song writer, Justin Hayward, tours solo each year around the world.
Tuesday, October 19th is my 50th birthday, so this event will be an awesome present for this 4-decade Duranie! 🥳🥰🤩😍

Duran Duran have pioneered the most classic videos and they remain numero uno today, the absolute best! I have such love for this band. I've seen them play live 22 times and can't wait for more!
