Well, what can I say Alex, you have got some great set ups, you must be doing something right! As with every hobby you will get setbacks. That said, don't be beating yourself up over any set back, if you take 10 steps forward and 8 back, you are still making progress. Great to see all your set ups, keep up the great work on your vidios.
Thank you for the kind words ❤️❤️ must say I can’t wait for hibernation to get a bit of rest with maintenance. That being said I’m not seeing my videos stop any time soon ❤️ thanks for the support 🙌🏻
@@AntHolleufer Got them on 17th September 2020 (my 27th Birthday^^) and they were 4 workers with 2 pupae. Then they were 6, but 2 workers died within a week. Then one or two larvae grew to workers, but some workers died one after another. So at least around New Year's eve they were just one worker and the queen. And I literally changed nothing but a small heating underneath their outworld. But somehow they felt well with it. Now they're around 250 to 350 workers xD
Summer time I hear 3 of the 5 nest to 30 degrees and the two other nest are at 22 winter I will turn of the heat and I will try to get the temperature a bit down
Ey Ant Holleufer i have an question! Im going to buy a big Messor Barbarus colony (60-70 workers) and im curious what type of liquid feeder should i use? The one you use with a cotton ball for the entrance or one where the ants crawl into somesort of hole and drink it (the one im looking for has an testube and is from antheap). Which one is the best?
@@AntHolleufer Okay! Good to know! But you also mean a liquid feeder attached to a testtube? Because the liquid feeder has the testtube as the bassin where you put in the stuff in. Otherwise I’m probably gonna use a normal testtube as water resource
@@AntHolleufer Well good to know then! I shall use an testtube as waterresource and a liquid feeder for honey water or sugar water, thx for the advice 😊
um no that's not true at all. the pheidole workers pick out of all of them queens that were in that test tube, they picked that 1 pheidole queen cause she dominated out of all the queens in that test tube, they not going to kill her at all they chose her for a reason ants is very intelligent so trust behavior and how the operate! I have been caring for ants for years now.
I really like this kind of videos, where we can see all the beautiful colonies, and your nice setups! Keep it up😁
Thank you 😄 really happy with the video although the video type can’t be made to often so why not try to make it a bit special when I make it 😄😄

Very nice shots, you have SO many colonies lol, great to see them all.
Ha yeah I wanted to use a bit more time in getting some more fun shots. Can’t wait to see all of your ante 👀👀
I think the camponotus herculeanus will be fine, I think the others are probably right about the summer brake then hibernation
Yeah that’s what I hope 🤔
Im exited for this video
😄🙌🏻
I’ve been waiting for this !!

And me

Can't wait!!!😃
😄😄🙌🏻
Oooo this is amazing
🤩🙌🏻😄
Great lot of ant colonies.
Haha yeah 😆😄
Lasius neoniger could be
It was just a regular flavus 😞 so nothing special
So funny, that your colony went exactly like my colony of Novomessor 😀
They also had a bad time or?🤔👀

Really want to see this!!!, cant wait to see 3A
😄🤩 heads up. They are now just called Lasius Niger 2020
@@AntHolleufer Ok thanks for letting me know😅😆😆😆😆😁
@@AntHolleufer they are so boring, but at home I keep them as possible host for parasitic Lasius ;-)
That queen you don’t know it is a lasius bummbratus
I think
It looks like it’s just flavus 😕 the yellow workers have now enclosed
Also i want to ask for some advice to hibernate my polyrhacis sp the tempreature will get up to -5 C shpuld i hibernate them??
Well ants die when it’s under 0 so I will always recommend keeping them at 5-10 in winter unless they are tropical
@@AntHolleufer are polyrhacis tropical??
Since you’ve got Myrmica Rubra you should get Myrmica ruginodis much more docile and mine never stop eating 😂
Hmm maybe 👀🤔😄
What temperature do u keep ur messor barbarus at?

If you have room in the outworld for a test tube it’s always the better option in my opinion ☺️
@@AntHolleufer Okay! Good to know! But you also mean a liquid feeder attached to a testtube? Because the liquid feeder has the testtube as the bassin where you put in the stuff in. Otherwise I’m probably gonna use a normal testtube as water resource
Well like I said before it’s always an easier option to just give them a test tube as a water source
@@AntHolleufer Well good to know then! I shall use an testtube as waterresource and a liquid feeder for honey water or sugar water, thx for the advice 😊
No problem 😄
first time watching a video with the little icon by my name 😜
