    This is darn creative! Well done.
    Suggestion for others: ALWAYS - like ALWAYS - pre-drill holes for nails if they're within 3 inches of an end cut. A drill bit about/just under half the diameter of the fastener is fine. And, ideally, pre=drill all holes.
    This Kiln dried lumber is so dry... (and not dense)... and those large head 3 inch nails can easily split the wood. Trust me... I know from unfortunate experience. :-)
    Good luck! Thomas, Seattle, WA, USA

    Oh my goodness! ScoutMom, thank you for following through on your intention to make this video. I had been loosing sleep about how to build this/these so I can empty out my wife's walk-in closet. Now, I can get to work and get back to sleep.

    FYI. You are working with 2x3's NOT 2x4's.

    We are having a yard sale and this looks great. I wanted to say also if you have a big enough drill bit, you could use a #3 or #4 piece if rebar to hang at the top. Well done

    Hey I didn't even notice before I went to buy the wood that your wood was similar in the way of cutting was similar in the way of the straggly cuts. So I don't feel I have to feel like it's got to be perfect. Thank you so much for your video.

    There’s slots on the side of hole saws for screw drivers to pry out wood that’s stuck in the hole saw.

    How stable is it from toppling over?

    Just grab the wood from the hole saw with some vice grips and reverse the drill

    Don’t you mean 1 3/4” for hole?

    What size nails did you use?

  • @nickreid1588

    Could I just use screws in place of nails?

    • @ScoutMom865
      @ScoutMom865  2 роки тому +2

      Yes, you can But no that nails are more flexible under pressure and screws can snap. The screw can also rip through the wood and not have as much gripping power.

    What size nails did you use? Someone told me to use 3 1/2 inch but they were too long and went all the way through.

    • @ScoutMom865
      @ScoutMom865  2 роки тому

      We call it a 2x4 but it’s not really two inches by four inches as its name implies. A 2x4 is actually 3-½ inches by 1-½ inches. So you can't use longer than a 3" nail when hammering two together on their sides.

    You didn't show what you used those 4 lag bolts for. Afterwards you could catch a glimpse of MAYBE how 2 lag bolts were used but not the 4 you showed. You didn't show the assembly of connecting the two pieces either. One pole would have to be longer than the other for one assembled side to be on the outside of the other too

      I don't think she could have painted a better picture. Do you need a box crayons and paper??
