I always watch these even for things I know how to do just in case there's a better way I'm not familiar with.
Love it. There are always mulitple ways to do anything in Resolve. I'm not sure if any of them are "Better", but some are definitely either faster or better in certain situations, depending on your project.

Damn video box cost my insanity. When I click on transport audio, then logicaly we all assume that video box no longer matters. What a unnecesary element to cause our noobie head to lose insanity.

Thank you so much. I had davinci resolve recommended to me by a friend who knows way more about editing software than I do, then proceeded to never use it. Until I needed to edit some audio and I didn't want to download any more programs that I won't use, which led me staring at the screen not having a clue how you're even supposed to render things. I would not have realised that the 'deliver' button was how you got to the render page if I hadn't watched this. So thanks a lot, this really helped me out. :)
The UI is definitely a little scary at first. Once you get used to the workflow, it makes a ton of sense but at first glance it's absolutely confusing.

You want to have either “Custom Export” or “Audio Only” selected to have all options (mp3, Wave, etc) available. A few people have asked me about that, and I don’t know that I made that perfectly clear in this video

just found out the davinci resolve. the layout is so good. especially the export gui. in love with this software. super easy for newbie. I mean just for simple editing :D

@@Daniel_Batal which part is intimidating? as a premiere user before, the panel and everything is just simple. I feel like using mobile editor but with computer power.
The nodes structure in Fusion and the Color page can be tricky if you’re used to editing in layers

But there’s also a Audio Only preset in the render settings. You just have to scroll to right to find it.
What I've found in Resolve is there will always be multiple ways to do just about anything, depeneding on your particular project needs.
The worst mistake a user can do is think, "That's not how I would do it" because not each of the methods is appropriate for all situations.

@@Daniel_Batal i have watched 4 or 5 vids already for my issues with glitchy video from my iPhone 15 pro. nothing is working and I don't have the option for proxy media mentioned in a couple of them. Any idea why i can't get the video to smooth out?

I exported as a Wave, but found MP3 to be missing. It's not a big deal, but does anyone know why MP3 is missing as an export option?
MP3 is there.
Make sure you have Video export disabled and that you’re using either “Custom Export” at the top left of your render settings or “Audio Only”
Legend. Is there a way to content match 2 audio tracks? Like I have a video and 2 extra external audio that I want to sync up.
There actually is a way to auto sync tracks inside of Resolve. I'll have to try and cover that in an upcoming Short

It is. Just make at the very top upper left you choose either “Custom Export” (as I did in this video) or “Audio Only”
What about if you only have an audio track present? The export audio button is selected, I set it to mp3, but the render button is not coming up for me. Any ideas?
Ah, nevermind I just figured it out. But in case someone else ever needs to know, you have to scroll through the options at the top and find audio only AND select the audio export button. :)
Yep! Same process. Glad you figured it out. You can also use "Custom Export", which will allow you to do either or both.
Doing this for the first time in Resolve. It is taking a LONG time, like as if it's also doing video long time. Is there something I'm missing?
Make sure you’re using either the Custom Export or Audio Only option at the top of the settings options and that you’ve unticked the “export video” box under the video tab.

meanwhile Daniel i have audio problem with my old videos recorded in HD on my oldest camera which i dont have anymore
movavi recognize audio track but davnci is mute .This is not comfortable for me as i dont want extract audio from over 250 videos files seperately .
how i can fix this then ?
Might be a file type error? The free version of Resolve doesn’t support all the same types as the Studio version

Even my standaloje player is muted
If you know tool called avidemux same too also recognize audio .
I will give you name of coded next time when i will check audio from that file

What are you audio export settings in the Deliver page?
Yeah well what if your Add to Render Queue button is not active. Why can't i press it?
Typically that's because you've missed filling out one of the options that allow DR to understand what you're exporting.
Could be the file type you want to export at, where you want to export it to, etc.
Just make sure you have each of the required fields filled out and you'll be good to go 👊😎☮️
I've had the same problem, cause I muted the audio while working on the project with pressing "Mute Track" on the left side in the "cut" environment.
exported the audio into mp3 but somehow it became an mov file instead even tho i picked mp3
You most likely forgot to untick the video export option. In the upper left export options, click on the video tab and untick the box that says "Export Video". Make sure on the Audio tab you DO have the box that says "Export Audio" ticked.

How to separate audio from video in project
When you bring a video clip into your timeline, it will put the audio and video onto separate tracks.
Right click and unlink them.
Now they’ll be completely separated. You can move or delete either

But all my 10 bit . H.265 footage is just showing audio in resolve
I’ve spent a day and half trying to figure out what the problem is but I’m stuck and tired 😭
The only other option is converting it to h.264 (8bit) and that a no for me
If you’re using the free version, they limit some of the file types supported

why does it save as MOV?
Make sure the top selection is either “Audio Only” or “Custom Export” and you can select audio format from the menu.
Make sure you have video unticked.
