You can prevent noise reduction from completely destroying your image by using the qualifier tool on the same node to only select certain portions that you want cleaned up. For example, if it's only the shadows and blacks that are noisy, open the qualifier, shut off hue and saturation, and reduce the luminosity to only select the shadows. Your mids and highlights will stay sharp and the lows will be clean!
I've found that applying noise reduction to specific color channels ( RGB ) gives me the cleanest noise reduction. For example, applying noise reduction to the blue channel ONLY can really clean up that noise while not affecting the red or blue channel at all. I think the shortcut key to split all the channels separately into nodes on PC is Alt+Y. I always add another node after and add the smallest amount of sharpening.
''Lately'' I really feel they've just been _continunously_ been uping their game in the past decade really ahahahaha! Constantly and consistently being improved, and eternally affordable and accessible!
I did it a few years ago and never looked back. Besides the features, it runs MUCH smoother and almost never crashes... While for premiere it was crashing often.
I'm so happy I purchased studio and now this has been released because it will make the learning curve a lot simpler as I'm a noob when it comes to Davinci but I'm so creative so cant wait to learn from you Joris and get the most out of this software.
Only a couple of things are keeping me from switching to DR, 1. No auto removal of filler words, 2. Additional tweaking of Auto Reframing, 3. Integration with PSD files with layer support.
Hi Joris, I'm on Resolve 19, the voice isolation toggle you show at 4:08 doesn't show for me, just skips from Pan to the Dialogue leveler, is there something I need to do to make it show up?
Imagine a scene where an object makes sound moving one side to another, that tracking sound feature is great for something like that so you don`t have to animate the whole sequence!
Joris, Because of your video about Filmconvert Nitrate, I bought this software a few weeks before the release of Resolve 19. Do you know if there is much difference? I personally feel that the quality of Filmconvert Nitrate is much better. Another is the load on the computer. I haven't tested this yet. Maybe a nice idea is to make a video about Filmconvert Nitrate vs DaVinci's Resolve 19 (film look creator). As a company, the price of €116 for Filmconvert Nitrate incl Halation was reasonable.
Thank you.subscribed. updated the 19.2 version in fairlight bus format , i see only add main busbutton. the option to add sub bus is not there how can i add a sub bus/mix in bus format ,the button for sub bus disappeared. please let me know
I came here by way of curiosity while repairing a friends pc (seeing this app on his machine) and after seeing this demo,it makes me want to edit images with DaVinci. This look amazing!!!!
Really like your videos Joris. Thank you for that concise breakdown. This is one of the most impressive updates for DR. That software keeps on giving incredible features, and without any monthly fees. Actually, THAT is the most incredible :)
No, once you buy, you get all the future updates for free! But version 19 is still in beta so it doesn't update automatically. You have to go to their website and download and install it manually. But since it's still beta, if you have a lot of active projects, I would just wait until the official release with an automatic update. 🫡🔥
I'm probably halfway through a big project on DR18. I could def use some of those tools on DR19. Would it be worth upgrading mid project to a beta version?
They did good on the transciption updates. I wish you could have added a speaker because sometimes it recognizes two different voices as the same speaker. Been using it extensively this past week and it has some glitches!
@JoriaHermans I have a burning question. Every time I use the masking tool to keyframe an object out of it's background and put it into a new background (with the text behind the object etc); once I save the file, close and then return to it, the information is lost and I have to render this magic mask over the same exact clip again and again and it is highly frustrating. Any help would be so appreciated
I hae a tecnical question. Do you know any real solution for "horizon lock"? I keep waiting for a update that will make this possible. When i shoot handheld, my horizon keeps rotating clockwise and anti clockwise throughout the clip? Is there a way to keep horizon locked in place without me going to manualy keyframe every second of rotation angle? Thank you!
Bro that dialogue seperator was so clean. I think we had to use iZotope before which I took the FLAC file and dropped into Vegas edit. I am doing so much research on DaVinci right now
just wanted to ask a question regarding DaVInci Resolve 19 update: I have a new video and ive rendered it BUT when I try and play it it says its not compatible with Quicktime (Working on a Mac) and rendered in MP4. is there a quick fix or is 19 bugged?
Version 19 is full of bugs don't believe the hype. One problem is exported files are losing their chapter markers during the rendering process. The beginning of the video timeline starts at 1 hour when it obviously should start at 00:00:00: , quite ridiculous really.
You might be “late” but no rush is always better to get well explained. And I found no contest in other videos. Thank you and looking forward for those in depth videos🎈
Sir I am new camar in davinci resolve and I have not to much practice in fusion and effect, should I directly go to 19 version of davinci resolved currently I am using 18.5 version
I'm working on a project on Davinci 18 and when I check for updates it says its up to date, to get 19 do I have to download it from scratch then right? is it possible to then import my project on 18 to 19?
It's still a beta version so yeah you have to download and install it manually from their website BUT if you have active projects I would wait or make sure you back them up properly.
Answer to your first question: Because they shoot those videos days before, DVR gives them the software before they put up on their website. That's why they release the videos ( they are only allowed to do so) after DVR puts the software up on the website to download.
Will do some more in-depth tutorials on some of these soon! 🫡🔥
Are these free
Yes please. I always look forward for some in-depth tutorials.
I'll update the chapter tomorrow adding "Studio" or "Free". Totally forgot to do that!
@@JorisHermans Thank you! You make great video's!
@@JorisHermansI thought that every of them are in the free version. I was naive again...

Blackmagic is really uping its game lately. Great release, great coverage Joris.
And not making it unafforable and scammy like Adobe

What’s the name of the animation effect that he uses on the text during his transition scenes???
wtf... that background blur and voice separation... thats awesome :O
Unreal what they're offering to us, great work Blackmagic & great work Boris in covering it!
My favorite part of Capture One is the color wheel selection. Having this in resolve is incredible. I'm so pumped.
This music remixer tool is INSANE!
It feels like actual magic 🪄🔥😎
@@JorisHermans is it available on the free version one?
@@AzulDesign unfortunately not. but its literally the same as Audiio Elements

Okay I am switching BYE PREMIER
farewell
I did it a few years ago and never looked back. Besides the features, it runs MUCH smoother and almost never crashes... While for premiere it was crashing often.
Have fun
I switched to davinci and love it. First time it is a bit ambiguous with diferent screens, but then I got used and realise how convenient davinci is
U wont regret it!

Are all these in Studio version or Free version?
Good question! I'll update the chapters tomorrow adding "Studio" or "Free".
sadly for free users, it is not possible to use these features. all the more reason to purchase the Studio version. I need to save up huhuhu
I’ve been using davinci resolve free for years but now I’m going to upgrade. Your videos are awesome man. Thanks!
Duuude the sound tracker is wild
Does anyone know if you buy the studio version for the lump sum...do you get new versions indefinitely or do you have to pay for upgrades?
Indefinite updates included! 🫡🔥
Love the new Color Slice!

You have to click on an audio track first to "activate" it.
@@JorisHermans hmm I can't figure it out, are you sure that's not a studio feature?
@@JorisHermans I just went through the blackmagic forum and it does indeed seem voice isolation is a Davinci Studio feature

Dank je wel, mooi in beeld gebracht en duidelijk.

Good one thanks. Can you magnify the inspector section or other settings you show on screen for better understanding?
Nice Job! I been watching your channel more and more. (I subscribed today) I really like it when you show examples. Keep up the good work!
another set of epic features. I love Davinci Resolve for real, because it is even given to us for free for all those who already bought Studio 😍
