    I just purchased a 2023 CX-30 based on your reviews and the vehicle is everything you highlighted about the suv. It drives very well, excellent acceleration, handling, ride, and quiet interior. Love the inside layout and quality of materials. Thank you Shari for your great work, love your content and videos.

    FYI.. our family has the 2021 Toyota prime RAV4 and our electric range is an awesome 53 miles. Yes, not the 42 miles advertised but we average 52-53 miles during the summer months and 49-50 miles during the colder months in the SF Bay Area. A true value….

    Yes, it's right, the fuel consumption of the CX-90 is 9.5 l/100 when the battery is completely empty. But the electric motor works in the parallel mode and still helps the petrol engine (much like the F150 PowerBoost works). Driving a CX-90 during 50 km from an empty battery, cruise control at 110 km/h, i got a fuel consumption of 7.9. I don't know what to think anymore...

    • @p.a.93
      @p.a.93 8 місяців тому

      Or, what is the mileage with full battery over a full tank in mixed mode? It has to be below 7.9 ...

    • @PierreAllard-ci9wb

      Yes of course. When you drive in full electric mode, you do not use fuel at all...

      Unfortunately I cannot answer this question because I did a 60 km test drive. By the way, I had the chance to get my hands on a 2023 Highlander XLE Hybrid, so I bought it. Why? The performance delivered by Toyota is well known and there is a gray area with Mazda. The short tests I was able to do were encouraging, but I still had some doubts...
      If the Toyoya would not have been available, most likely I would have taken the CX-90

    looking at other reviews I was convinced that the Mazda CX 90 is better. than Highlander. Hybrid. I've got sienna hybryd. After watching this video, however, I'm not going to part with my sienna. It's cheaper and I like it better. For me, mileage is more important than how it looks on the inside.

    Neither, I'd probably get the Toyota Grand Highlander in one of the two hybrids. Though if I really didn't need the extra room, I'd go for the tried and proven Highlander.

    It seems misleading to compare MPG of the Highlander in hybrid mode vs. the CX-90 in completely battery-depleted mode. the 25 MPG number only applies when the Mazda is forced to run the engine at all times when/because the battery is empty (that's not equivalent to the Toyota's hybrid operation).

    • @carhelpcorner
      @carhelpcorner  Рік тому +1

      This is why I added the CX-90 only has the advantage if you charge it regularly. If you drive over 100km/60 miles without charging then the Highlander becomes more efficient.

      @@carhelpcorner what is the real MPG of the cx90 without plugin, e.g. 500 miles long trip, just in the normal hybrid mode?

    • @calenpope9787
      @calenpope9787 11 місяців тому +2

      @@carhelpcorner that's true but my point is that this fact is largely irrelevant when you consider how people actually use these vehicles. Most people with Plug-in vehicles plug them in at night. Most folks don't drive more than 60 miles in a day. Why compare the worst-case, non-typical scenario of the Mazda to the every-day scenario of the Toyota? It's apples to oranges.

    Both far too large and not practical for city driving. Sadly, both are grossly overpriced. You will not “ save money” spending $60,000 on any Automobile in fact you will lose alot of money in the long run.
    But remember, no one was ever fired or divorced for buying a Toyota! 😊

      Leasing is the absolute dumbest financing method for new motor vehicle acquisition. You’re basically throwing money away. Massive asset depreciation, huge opportunity cost, plus high interest costs. Why? To impress a total stranger at a stoplight?
      The lessee (that’s you) has to make monthly payments until the lease term is up. Then you hand the keys back over to the lessor. Leasing is a complete rip-off. In fact, leasing is “fleecing” because getting “fleeced” means getting taken advantage of financially.
      Car leases are an extremely expensive way to gain access to a vehicle, they are a "rip-off" because you end up getting charged a high effective interest rate that isn't disclosed upfront since leases aren't considered debt. Car leases can be extremely problematic as you often get hit with high fees for going over the mileage limit or wear and tear on the vehicle. You'll also end up making payments for years with nothing to show for it in the end, unless you buy out the lease -- which can be very expensive. Paying cash for a car or even financing it with a low interest loan that has a short payoff period can be a far better approach in the long run.
      Priceless.
