Thanks a lot for the video. Just ordered some sandalwood powder from your shop a few days ago! I've been thinking about what kind of container to use for my tinctures. I've got some empty aluminum cannisters laying around, but I see pretty much everyone using glassware like mason jars etc. I can't imagine it matters much, since I'm planning on storing them in a dark cabinet anyway, but maybe?
Hello, thank you Dan for this helpful content, i want to ask three question 1. I don't have orris root i have sandalwood powder so can i use this ? 2. In which ratio Sandalwood powder and civit should be used (equal) 3. We should filter it when its freezed but clear me about that should we freeze and filter it after 6 weeks or we should freeze and filter it immediately then let it age for 6 weeks ? Thanks
Why would you remove the material immediately??? It hasn’t had time to macerate in the material that’s common sense Dan shouldn’t have to clarify that…
I'd like to ask that after four to six weeks after, we need to put in the freezer for a day or two days then it will be frozen. does it mean that fats become congeal? or wait for melting to use the paper coffee filter?
Filter it cold. Soon after removing it from the freezer. The fat will congeal and almost crystalize. It will stay behind in the filter. I try to filter it while it is at its coldest. Don't wait for it to come to room temperature.

I honestly don't know if any contaminants transfer over from the aluminum. But since it is not for internal use I doubt it matters.
Hello, can we macerate directly civet paste in santal oil ?
Do you throw away the fat? Or is there anything we can use the fats for? Soap? Candles?
A lot of the most obnoxious stinker perfume from history I smelled tend to include civet.
I can only imagine the stank during this process.
So how is civet used in oils? Pure oils/ pure essential oils?
