Jesse, having clean equipment accomplishes 3 major things...
First it makes it easier to find leaks, cracks, broken welds....
Then it makes operating and repairs so much better...
Third clean and well maintained equipment instills a sense of pride and shows professionalism to your customers!!!!👍💯🤘🤘
You forgot quenches OCD.😊
I own a pressure washing company here in Illinois. We pressure wash heavy equipment and restuarant hood systems. If you have any questions on your washer ask away. I've built and rebuilt MANY of hot water washers. You need to get the charging system fixed. Even a little low voltage will fry the transformer that makes the spark to ignite the fuel in the burner. Could be the voltage regulator or the stator. It's very easy to check and isolate the issue and fix it. Id gladly walk ya thru it, if you'd like.
I appreciate it but I checked it and it’s charging so we’re all good for now!
I just LOVE your Music I'm 68
sitting here banging my head off!
Thank you! all music is original and comes from the Semi -Supervillains
Irregardless of what it looks like when your done, it just makes you feel so damn much better
Uncle Sam taught me many years ago “The cheapest and most efficient maintenance is cleanliness “. Momma taught me me not to criticize. So you did good ,once you did. Keep doing!
Now you can see where all the grease fittings are for maintenance.
Yes I actually found a few I didn’t know were there
Yep, spring cleaning.
Cheers folks
@@DieselCreek One thing we do here is paint around all the grease nipples in a contrasting colour. If it's a hidden fitting, paint an arrow as near as you can that's visible. Number each fitting, and paint the total somewhere obvious (e.g. if there's 31 grease nipples paint T31 wherever you choose). On this dozer I'd suggest next to the seat or on the side near the lift cylinder mount.
Then when you go to grease her, you can count them all off so you don't miss any: "Damnit, where IS #17 on this thing?"
dfross87 that’s a great idea.
@@30shandala Thanks, but I can't claim the credit for it. We've been doing it here on the farm for a lot longer than I've been alive. So assuming they didn't pinch the idea from someone else, probably my grandfather or great-grandfather.
Its like you own the real version of every Tonka toy I ever owned or wanted.
3:52 when your dozer is so dirty, you need to grade what falls off of it. lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣

Damn I love this show.. I'm OLD (79) and love the old machines still doing the job.
Thanks.... I want that blue jeep, hehe
The paintwork is a lot better than I thought it was.
We used to drop the belly pans, remove the engine covers and wash the engine, trans and rear end yearly. Lot of dirt and oil gets accumulated in a 9 month season. Radiator and oil coolers need attention as well. Nice video as usual!
I can relate to that lol also shoveling dirt from track frames.
that was just too much fun!!!
That starter is the real MVP of the show
I seen a guy in Liverpool in the 80’s driving a D4, and boy, he could make that thing talk. He was brilliant.
About 2 months ago, I got motivated to Power wash my truck...since I live in the south and it was warm, I put on my shorts, and rubber shoes...used the 4’ ladder my wife uses to clean ceiling fans, that’s clearly rated for 200lbs. I’m a good 50 over that, got out my 3000 psi washer, stood up on the top step, that is clearly marked do not stand...and turned on the washer...I went flying one way, the ladder went the other and my shoes straight up in the air, busted up my right need pretty good, yep, I’m a Darwin Award Nominee for 2020.
Glad you are okay! Haha we all do dunb stuff now and then, God knows I’m no exception
Diesel Creek besides my knee, which healed fine, only thing hurt was my ego...my neighbor watched it all unfold.
From time to time, Matt inserts into his videos a snippet of his version of Gene Wilder's "Pure Imagination" from the 1971 Willie Wonka movie. It means he is doing something, or about to do something, which is a particularly risky idea. Enjoy. 🙂
Come with me
And you'll see
A world of OSHA violations.
Dang it you starting the tractor reminds me I need to start mine for the first time this spring.
FYI presoap and a light scrub with a broom will loosen up the crud and make it a lot easier to clean up, we used to use laundry soap
Kept expecting to see little animals come running out carrying their earthly belonging!
The little critters seem to stay away from the dozer for whatever reason
Love your channel DC watch every week all the way from Tasmania-Australia 👍
Lovin that rock n roll music!
Thanks, check out my buddies channel he makes it all for me, Link in the description
Great video.... The dozer looks so much better. Slap a coat of paint on it and it will look brand new. Have a great day and stay safe.
Gonna touch up the rust soon
@@DieselCreek Yeah, it looks like it's time for a DuPont overhaul.
Rich Diddens DuPont!??! What am I made of money!? Hahaha NAPA brand it is....
@@DieselCreek Wash dozer down with fav detergent and scrub brush, rinse and repeat. Wring dry and hang on the fence to dry. She'll look brand new! I keed, I keed...
one more thing,,, I owned a pressure washing business for a long time,, diesel fuel in a garden sprayer is the best degreaser, spray lightly until it will not soak in , let set overnight if possible ,spray one more time let set for a little while and go for it.. just a little soap will stop the grease from re-sticking, hope this helps..
I’ll have to try that, a few people have said that
krazzlee2000 What an incredible poor idea, that has got to be the LEAST environmentally friendly idea I have heard in a long while, especially at a location without a oil trap on the drain, because I am sure that the forest floor does not have a oil trap built in, the alkaline soap they use at the meat packing plant works just as good, or better.
Just returning the oil back into the ground. Thats where it came from.
Petrol works better and it ovaperates better for the environment and all
@@tlr-nut7275 Recycled dinosaurs :D
Nice vid, the dozer looks so much better !!
Didn’t you say you had a lot of time on a D41?
Just did this to my old backhoe and it was worth the time and effort! She shines brightly now!! So satisfying!!
How can you not like seeing this machine get cleaned up. Something about watching this is soothing to see...
isn't it amazing how it seems to run better when all cleaned up.
Pressure washing something is incredibly satisfying. It’s like using a giant eraser. I enjoy your content, you have a good balance of different projects. I’m looking forward to what’s coming up. Glad you’re going back to work. We need to get this economy humming again. Take care!
Thanks for watching!
Sweet video, I can sit here watching you wash yours while I know I should be pressure washing mine. Lol.
I love work, fascinated by it, I could watch it for hours
Love the high-speed talking!
It's like a mosquito.
Got yourself a nice machine there, Matt. Imagine what it would look like if you painted it. Love the videos of Washington County...miss the area.
I love your videos! You have a great voice for them. Good music. Not too much reverse or time lapse. As said before, and you also stated, use a good degreaser on those nasty spots. I use Dawn dish soap in a tank sprayer. Don’t forget the engine. Now get her greased up. And....for Pete’s sake, at least create a pad where you can work on your stuff and not be in mud up to your ankles. 🙄
I’ll get a better area built eventually!
Glad to hear you’re doing well. Love the videos.
It's no fun cleaning something that size if it's *a wee bit grubby* but, if it's *caked* in all sorts of muck, such a satisfying job.😁👍👌
Cleaned up really good. Man the hours to put this together, thank you.
Nice job, looks great!! thanks for sharing
Now's a good time to replace those cylinder packings , she looks great and runs nice . also it would come in handy to make an area just for spray washing like maybe a raised area on some railroad timbers up out of the soil , thanks .
Just watched this video and you really did a great job on the old girl. I still can't believe how well it starts. An amazing piece of machinery!
It starts phenomenally well. It starts that good even in super cold weather!
@@DieselCreek Yeah I like your countdown when you are firing it up after inactivity or cold weather.
so nice to see what is supposed to be yellow even if it is used yellow it is still nice. WOW
Wow.....now I want one. Great looking dozer!
Good job , looks well , touch of paint and job done ✅
Always fun to watch!
Pressure washer is made by Easy Kleen out of New Brunswick, Canada. Magnum Gold is their 12v burner model. I think they separated the name Easy Kleen from Magnum so now they just say Magnum on the side, but it is all Easy Kleen. Also, I would definitely recommend buying a rotating nozzle. Will cut your cleaning times by several factors, the water won't splash back at you, and cleaning upg rease will be much faster, unlike the fan nozzles. They're a bit spendy but totally worth it.
just a note,,, for your equipment ( international tractor mostly ) spin the engine over for a couple seconds or until you see smoke, let it set for at least 30 seconds, spin a couple seconds again, do this a couple cycles. the fuel in the cylinders will generate heat and it should crank easier. saves your starter and battery, hope this helps.
Interesting I’ve never heard that method, it starts easy after it’s just the first start when it’s sat
@@DieselCreek include in a video, thanks for the videos..
@@DieselCreek i wonder if it looses its prime?
I’m pretty sure that’s exactly what happens. Gotta do some digging on it and see, never really touched that since I bought it 5-6 years ago, just been running it and only maybe gone through a few tanks of fuel so not running it a lot either
@@DieselCreek i had the same issue on 3 diesels over the years and i cheated and just ran electric pumps just to keep them going.
Spring cleaning is very satisfying and gives you a chance to see where things need fixing.
Indeed, I found fittings I didn’t know it had
You know when your dozer is dirty when you spend ten minutes levelling the dirty you took off it LOL
Get yourself a Turbo Nozzle for the power washer. 👍
I’d like to try one of those
Agree, works like a champ especially on the grease.
Clean equipment looks like a professional who cares about his work. Good job!
A Clean Machine Is A HAPPY Machine ! I STEAM Clean mine before and after every Job it looks better and makes it better for repairs when you need to ! Great Videos I enjoy watching them !
A clean machine is a happy machine :)
the eighties girl is looking good nice one
A small thought for the back of your mind, most bully fires are caused by a build up of grease oil and diesel combined with dirt lying in the belly pan under the engine. we used to have to remove the pans from the bullies and the skidders every month, but that was in the bush// the woods. Run them up onto 2 logs then crawl under with a jack and drop the pan. We used to shackle the winch cable to a tree and run the rope all the way out to the last few raps then lightly oil the cables and reseat them on the drum every month (don't know if you know about it, but that cable has a wick, that needs oiling, to keep the cable lubed. Helps extend the life of the cable,, helps against rust and goes a long way to help with sprags) just don't over do it, and get oil in the winch brake We greased the machines every week. Wonder just how long since your one was cleaned and serviced before you bought it. But that was the 60s when machines had to last.
The belly pan on this is clean, I looked when I changed the oil last. Also the cable is pretty well trained to wind up like the mess you see, that was that way when I got it. It’s plenty strong for my needs but would be replaced if I were going to do anything serious with it. It does need oiled for sure
Get a rotary nozzle for your steam cleaner. You will cut your cleaning time way down. It also doesn't blow water back at you as bad. I like to do a hot rinse then apply purple cleaner at 50% cut using a garden pump sprayer. Let it soak a few and give it hot wash. I professionally cleaned large fleets of equipment for while and this method worked best for me. Make sure you match the rotary nozzle to your machines gpm. Should be on the data tag. Good Luck!
Thanks for the info,
SUPER CLEAN in the purple bottle.
The way you felt about getting into the clean machine with dirty boots on is the same way I feel when I come home from the laundry and realize everything I own is clean except for what I'm wearing. There's no way that a job is ever completely done.
Thanks for keeping real Mat.. Please keep doing what you are doing and try noy to get sucked into the Media and fake sponsorship side of UA-cam.
You are a star to us all already.
Nice job on the Komatsu, easier that a CAT. Cat's don't like water, they get mean and fight back when you try to bath them. 😉🤣 Hope you're all keeping safe. 😷🤞👍
Lmao Thanks for watching!
The D4....lookin' mighty tidy-!!!!!!😁
Great 👍 another fine episode
Suggestion for you. Bring in a couple loads of that big heavy rock you used on base of your driveway and put down a big rock pad where you can pressure wash your equipment. That way you don’t have a bunch of mud to be walking around on driving over.
Strangely satisfying... Isn't amazing how much better it runs after a good cleaning...
lol she ran perfect before it’s nicer to run now I’ll say that
I used to watch a channel from a guy who was an operator of a big, long reach excavator at an ENORMOUS (government run?🤷♂️) peat farm in Russia (?). Every time he brought his machine to the farm shop, for any reason, they completely steam cleaned it before it was brought inside for any work.
I thought that was pretty cool 👍🏻
Thanks for another good video!
Thanks for watching!
Great watching you clean up the dozer! Keep up the Great Videos! Love the Intro and all the rest of the Guitar Music! Excellent!!! :)
Glad you like it!!!
@@DieselCreek Keep up the Great work!! :)
Very satisfying indeed!!
Thanks for watching!
I always enjoy pressure washing around the house and driveway. Living in the Houston area means there is plenty of the green stuff to get rid of, twice a year…
They say that "Cleanliness is next to Godliness" - I must admit, that as a retired Shell Oil Fuel Depot Manager in Zimbabwe in Africa, we believed that it was imperative to have your entire fleet of vehicles spotlessly clean at all times !! I feel that people judge your efficiency and professionalism by your delivery vehicle's appearance !!
Matt you do a great job with clean or dirty equipment !! You're a busy man !!
very relaxing thanks :)
Thanks for watching
Wow doesn't even look like the same Dozer. I'm a lot like you, i want my stuff to look nice. Whether new or old i still want it cleaned up. Good job buddy, nice video.
Looks alot better than ever 👌
Ya got us ole southern boys rocking to the music
Glad you like it!
Love the vids stay healthy and safe
Thanks for watching!
So Clean you hate to get it all dirty again LOL
The hot water/steam is the real magic in cleaning over a straight power washer to remove oil and grease throughly. While regular power washer will clean 95% of oil, grease, grime, and dirt they tend to smear grease and oil on the final passes. I would recommend greasing every zerk fitting while they are so clean and to purge any water out.
i love this kind of video. i wish more of you heavy equipment owner/operator guys[[letsdig for example] would do this more often. although we do love watching the operation of said rigs. love this channel
Good job!!
Your Dozer is a very nice piece of equipment, it is easy to see that it was well cared for, it would sure help if you had inside storage for your equipment, when it is left out in the elements it won't take long for seats to go bad, tires get weather cracked, hydraulic hoses take a beating from the sun, the wiring gets damaged, paint fades weather checked and peals off, then rust. Animals also do damage to equipment left outdoors. I know you have to do things as finances permit, Rome was not built in a day. Take care.
Good work came up great 👍
Thanks for watching!
When I worked with these pressure washers we would always run some degreaser or at least detergent in the line as well. It really speeds the job up.
I forgot to bring it 🤦🏼♂️
Loved cleaning the dozers as they came off the oil and gas fields for servicing or repair.
Good job. I don't care what you scrape or dig or wash or burn or build...I'll keep watching.
Awesome thanks! 👍🏼
I would like to see more work on the church
I hear every word you are saying,
said them to myself, makes you think am I going at this correctly.
Good on back to work. Thanks for intelligent entertainment.
Central California watching
I really would like to see you give it a repaint, would make it look AWESOME 😎😎😎😎
I’m going to touch up the rusty spots
@@DieselCreek that will do it, then when you stand back you will need to touch up the lesser rusty bits, then when you stand back, and so it goes on just repaint the whole thing and don't kid yourself, by the way we call the green build up verdigris (verdeegree), it helps to wet it and let it softern, then it comes off easier, the only problem then is it is also very slippery so no standing on the roof, stay safe.
Nice job, Matt. Sometimes I worry about you falling and maybe breaking your neck. Be careful buddy. I love 💕 your vlogs
Good job!!!!
Your old Komatsu really looks good after that Bath ! You have collected quite an array of nice construction equipment to work with and a nice place to keep them . Happy for you !
Thank you very much!
GREAT VIDEO. RETIRED 77, USAF VET. TRACTOR NEED GLOW PLUGS BAD.
Hello Matt, sometimes you can't get around everything, as much as you want to, but the Dozer looks almost new. Good video Matt, please keep them coming, best wishes, Geoff Lewis, Wales, UK, 🏴🏴🏴
Amazing video
Doing a prewash with the foam cannon attachment really cuts the oil , grease and slimy mud. It’s an easy attachment to your present set-up.
Well it looks a hell of a lot better now man
Have you considered running a spiked roller over your ground and dressing with sand? Would be a relatively quick and cheap way to start improving drainage of that soil.
It looks like a heavy clay mixed with a lot of organic matter, needs aeration to help it break down and dry out.
You need to have a dedicated wash bay with a solid floor and a drain.
You will also have to go over everything again with that spinning nozzle that
you got for that pressure washer. 😃
I reckon that with starting that old Inter tractor you have to crank for so long the diesel builds up in the cylinders until it increases the seal for the rings and therefore raises compression.
I had an old Armstrong twin cylinder diesel that wouldn't start when it was cold unless you dropped a SMALL shot of sump oil into each cylinder through an open valve with a bit of garden hose, it would start fine after that and once it was warm it would start again all day.
Looks great. Old motorheads always believe "clean cars/engines run better". OK it's all psychological but we'll take anything that makes us think they run better after we wash them!🙂👍👍
I don’t really subscribe to that theory but I know they are much easier to work on when clean!
@@DieselCreek They sure are. Whatever works for ya. I enjoy the "feel goods" after getting something that's really dirty really clean. As I said probably all psychological but whatever works for us!
I can watch this kind of video all day...CLEAN IT !
a clean machine is a happy machine
Indeed
Nice cleaning !👍
Thanks for watching!
Dozers are great for spreading stone. I would recommend getting some and quit working in mud constantly.
You buy it I’ll spread it
wished i had your TOYS good vids take care
You should catch the water off of the roof to fill up your water container you use for power steam cleaning of your equipment.
Love that komatsu D41 they dont make them simple like that anymore love your channel.
They sure don’t! Thanks for watching!
