To all my fellow misfits and vagabonds who took on this song as our anthem... We are still here, we are still relevant, we still trod through life with a hope of something bigger than ourselves.. You are NOT alone. There are many who understand what you feel. I am one of them ...and I love you.
Back atcha, brother
Were Still Here🤟
I don't know if this song actually was the result of him being on the Phil Donahue show oh so many years ago, but check out what he says around minute 8:30 in the video. ;) ua-cam.com/video/UGOQUahAmxg/v-deo.html
So many times did I fight for I looked different then everyone else. Listening to different music or had different friends. Yes this has more meaning to me then you can imagine. Long live the Dirty’s
Yes Brother..Being someone whose been playing the music for 40+ now. I'm still on the road and appearing soon before your naked eyes. That's me and Al.. Anyway my mission in life aside from making Goth girls wet has been to encourage everyone different just be you..
Don't know how to express how freaking amazing this remake is. This isn't a piece of music anymore, it's a work of art!
STR8!!!🤗💜🖤💫
Uh, music is art, though.
But you are right, this is some next-level goodness.
I really love seeing how Al seems to be appreciating his older content much more as of recently
@Cory Thompson I doubt they've played this pretty much at all since the 80s
He needs money to fill his spoon!!! MWAHAHAHAHA!!!
@@rodneyboyd404 youre a pretty stupid fuck arent you?
You think a 'With Sympathy' reworking is coming soon?
@@rodneyboyd404 weed only
OMG Al Jourgensen and Dave Navarro collaborate together and this song makes me shiver down the spine. Stunning.
Right!!?
Makes me want to puke.
Had Me All😢🤗🖤💜💫
First time im hearing this i have the chills too
I like how you can tell that this song still means something to him. Don't deny your past Al. You really created some amazing things.
I feel like you can see his rediscovered love for this song. I'm happy they filmed the process.
Get me the chills, I remember listening to Dark Matter Radio where Al was a guest. Dave Navarro suggested to sing " Halloween" in the studio. Al replied" it's been 30 years that I have performed this song"
Gladly Al accepted the challenge, it was magical!
Thanks, Al and Dave, for this beautiful gift!♥️
They just made the song even more electric. Restarting the hearts of us who were honored to have lived, and experienced this new born dynamic era of music changed our lives forever. Showing the younger generations what brought us up to become what we all our now, the future that succeeded to express ourselves inside and out, and still make it in life to work any job, or have a PhD etc.. while looking how we want, saying what we feel, and publicly caring for anyone no matter the gender, color or religion by staying 100% real. The ultimate anthem of our time. We MADE IT!
I agree thoroughy and passionately. This was in my "prime time" of music....was 17. This was everything.

There will never be another Al Jourgensen ever!!!! ..............................lyrics ........
Well I live with snakes and lizards
And other things that go bump in the night
'Cause to me everyday is Halloween
I have given up hiding and started to fight
I have started to fight
Well any time, any place, anywhere that I go
All the people seem to stop and stare
They say "why are you dressed like it's Halloween?
You look so absurd, you look so obscene"
Oh, why can't I live a life for me?
Why should I take the abuse that's served?
Why can't they see they're just like me
It's the same, it's the same in the whole wide world
Well I let their teeny minds think
That they're dealing with someone who is over the brink
And I dress this way just to keep them at bay
'Cause Halloween is everyday
It's everyday
Oh, why can't I live a life for me?
Why should I take the abuse that's served?
Why can't they see they're just like me
It's the same, it's the same in the whole wide world
Oh, why can't I live a life for me?
Why should I take the abuse that's served?
Why can't they see they're just like me
I'm not the one that's so absurd
Why hide it why fight it?
Hurt feelings best to stop feeling hurt
Denials, reprisals
It's the same it's the same in the whole wide world
It's the same it's the same in the whole wide
It's the same it's the same in the whole wide
It's the same it's the same in the whole wide world
I hate to say this but it gave me goosebumps .
It brought me nirvana and a vision
Class Of 1986 this was my Anthem 🥰🧙🏼♀️😈I was proud to look obscene. Still Am!!!
Glad to see we are all aging gracefully. This is a fantastic arrangement!!! 🎃😈

This is, hands down, my favorite version of this song. Amazing. Just amazing guys!
I wish Al would do an orchestral version of "I Wanted To Tell Her"
Conrad Poos Agreed! Love that song!
i love Al since With Sympathy!!
My favorite from that album was always I should have known better! I love I wanted to tell her too...that would be amazing
Gawd, YES!
Ooh, yeah
25 years ago: /me stomps angrily to Ministry
Today: /me still stomps angrily but meaningfully 'cause I know the lyrics
You guys nailed it. Brought a tear to this old grumpy goth's eye. Thank you.
Cry more, pussy.
@@TheBigMclargehuge ok
I'm proud that my teens can drop into the Bop-be-bop-bop chorus at the mere suggestion of Halloween. I figure this Gen-Xer raised 'em right.
Halloween is the most shinning pearl in Ministry whole discography. I love this version.
This will be played at my funeral from the speakers in my casket.. Everyone will receive a copy of the lyrics printed on linen card stock embossed in black and purple. We are all the same..... Thank you for sharing your beautiful talents with those who will listen.
That was my first notion too: How appropriate a comment on my appreciation of life in poignant words and beautiful, unique music that Uncle Al and friends have done again! A most fitting song for a funeral for those that have truly appreciated and enjoyed his (and Ministry's) works.
Just when you think Al has already taken music to another level.
youve never even done a 10th of the drugs ALs had huh?
Some of us are only mere mortals,@@fillphat, not creative celestial beings like Uncle Al
@@oneskinnyhonky took the words out of my mouth mate...🤘
This is literally from the '80's
@@dougcameron6609 you had to be there to appreciate it mate...and were not drooling just reminiscing... 😎
What a great rendition of this song. I love how he breaks out that signature gravelly tone foe the last few lines of the song. Beautiful.
discovered WAXTRAX! in 87-88 through college radio legend L.D.(little dave) and his UCF Orlando FL program the INDUSTRIAL FEST. with a "MIND.." tour PSA from AL - "Hi this is Al from MINISTRY .. our true fans are the ones who shoplift our records cuz they'll do anything to hear the new sounds!"
u guys are my culture so thank u !!!!
thank u Al, Chris, Paul,Will, Novel ETC
Al, "With Sympathy" is unironically one of my favorite albums. I'd knock an old lady down a flight of stairs to see what you'd do with retro synthpop nowadays, or a country album with Barry Kooda in Dallas.
Barry kooda is greatness as well
Lol
I know he hates it, but it's so damn good. This version of this song is great. I just want to kill every single time I see Dave Navarro. Jeez, I'm watching as I type and this video...I'm gonna' go get a dictionary and see if Ministry's currently next to the definition of "Pretentious".
It’s not from With Sympathy. It’s from one of his Wax Trax singles.
I agree! I love their harder stuff way more but With Sympathy is just so catchy and it may be from a bygone era but that's what makes it such an escape from reality.
Absolutely beautiful! I am so happy that Al is [finally] embracing his early past.
This literally brought tears to my eyes it is absolutely the best thing I have heard in a very very long time!!! More of this please!!!
I agree !!!
i don't think there can be more, we set out own paths
"where roads are made i lose my way" - tagore
but yeah - a lifetime eh
keep fucking fighting for west papua
Oh, please. It's just a song.
@@clvrswine it might just be just a song to you but it's more to a lot of us, it's memories, it's life, it's the good times from back in the day...
No tears. But I sat silent for the entire song, and just let the lyrics carry me.
This is so well executed! The perfect anthem for all of those who hung in there understanding this is not a phase ! Let your freak flag fly!
This gave me that feeling I had way back in 1985 when I first heard the original version
Absolutely amazing
Uncle Al, thank you so much for this Halloween present! I remember singing along and dancing to this in the 80s, and I'm still happy to be a weirdo. I saw you and Chris do this at House of Vans on Record Store Day and it brought tears to my eyes. xoxo
Sang and dance at the Goth club new year 99 into 2000 this will never not be an awesome song
Was fortunate enough to see Ministry and Mark Walk of Skinny Puppy play in Hollywood 1989. Two drummers that night.......no words can describe how awesome it was. The mind is a terrible thing to taste
I love the original version of this track, because of all the memories and history attached to it, but this is a seriously righteous version!
Amazing! Only the originators could take it to this level.
🍺😋👍
It was almost 30 years before I found out that it was a James Brown sample not Al screaming during the scratching break
Stumbled upon this just UA-cam surfing. Am blown away by this version
I'm blown away. This is incredible.
Why did I find this version only now? Amazing redefinition of a legend.
Seeing the Cruel World set, wow! Speechless. I am so glad the band is venturing back into the old catalog! A refreshing surprise! AL sounds fantastic!
Absolutely STUNNING 😍
I’m not even done listening to it & I’m in awe! It’s beautiful, brilliant & absolutely epic! Love it so much, those strings & the bombastic drums, yes!
Listen live
Im crying! This is so nostalgic! Awesome!!
Speaks to my Gothic heart and soul, only darkness protects my inner light 🖤
This such a awesome version of this song. I like both versions equally.
Takes me back to high school and hearing Ministry for the first time ❤️❤️❤️
I'm so pissed that I found out about this a day late. Either way, this blew me away. Exactly what I needed to hear the day after Halloween when the shift now is to the Winter holidays. Rock on Al!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN LADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PUT THIS GEM ON SPOTIFY ALREADY!!!!!!!
Re-issue "with sympathy" uncle Al!
Theres a UK re-release on red vinyl
Dude, would be very nice to listen to an remastered version of with sympathy with some unreleased songs
that was a terrible album lol
Shut the complete entirety of the fuck up. All of it. That album was amazing. Youhushayoumouth.
I have that album on CD and also the 12” collection that I probably bought way back in 1990 something 🙌🏻 Club favorites for sure. “Work for love” was a great club song.
This made my day.
You are a thief of my love for good music
Twitch was the first album that got me into industrial music at that time. Would love to hear acoustic version of all of the Ministry hits.
Damn that was badass. So cool to see Al revisiting that classic.
Dave Navarro!!!!!! 😍
THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING RECKONING OF AN AMAZING BAND I HAVE EVER SEEN! I WILL BE 53YRS OLD ON December 20th.
Holy crap this is amazing!
I am so here for this acoustic masterpiece!!! This sounds awesome!!!!
Wow....just amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 150/100!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ministry is excellent, you made life worth the trip.
This song is very relatable as a metalhead who mostly wears dark clothing and band shirts i got accused of being a satanist and got called other awful names just for being who i wanted to be
Stronger than all! .. 👊
Yes!!!
AWW DID SOMEONE USE WORDS ON YOU SNOWFLAKE? The hidden meaning of this song is this: you chose to continue to dress a certain way in spite of knowing what would happen. But why oh why won't the world change FOR ME?? You take the abuse that was served because, right or wrong, you volunteered for it.
@@TheBigMclargehuge Wow, that is a gross, twisted misinterpretation. This type of thinking is why bullying doesn't die out.

Been listening to Al since the 1980s the power is still on!
right on
Badass! I was 14 when this song cane out and always my favorite Halloween song!
Since this was posted, every time I listen to this I'm instantly in a groovy mood...
this version gives me chills and tears in my eyes every time I listen to it ... like a hymn to my life and all my friends ...
Classic, Ministry!🎃🤘
That was fucking awesome... great job!!!!
Own it Al!!!!!! Your synth roots seriously kick @ss!!!!!!! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Numbers in Montrose Houston is where I first heard this song. Still incredible!
good call, good memory. I am hetero, but am an artist, so you most likely heard it at a gay bar...which is awesome..Montrose rocks
Into the rabbit hole of Houston, I was... Numbers was where I met and saw many perform the first time. Having connections to dance mixed 12' albums helped refine our choices of trips to the area. The Cult, Ministry, Love & Rockets, just to name a few. This even brings back memories of vivid occasions to downtown at Mecca on straight nights.
Me too. Do you live in or around Houston?
Hope this becomes available on Spotify and Bandcamp soon because I need it in my playlist pronto!
It's still not available correct?
Wow I have loved the song since the old days. Thank you. The is a awesome version. strong!!!
Holy Crap!!!! How did i only find this today? Awesome!!!
It's just beautiful, so raw and full of emotion. An awesome version of a classic song.
I remember listening to Ministry for the first time more that 25 years ago and getting goosebumps... listening to this version gave me goosebumps again...
Crazy, it fit me 40 yrs ago and still does today.
SQUEEEEEEEEEEE! The 13 year old goth in me is in HEAVEN! This is so awesome!
Brought tears to my eyes and chills down my spine 🖤
It's one of my favorite songs, since the first time I heard it on MTV in th 80s. Thanks for making it new to my ears again.
Happy Birthday, Brother. Thank you for being a staple in my life.
Fantastic💜💜love Ministry💀💀💀💀
Amazing. Loved the original and this one blew me away.
I listen to Haloween every day in my car! Love it, thx!
Listening for Ministry from 1998. Hello from Moscow!
❤❤❤ GOOSEBUMPS!!! LOVE YOU GUYS 🖤🖤🖤👏👏👏🥰🤩🔥🔥🔥
The weed pen had me in stitches! I love you, Uncle Al.
Edit: just noticed the video is 4:20 mins long LOL!!!!!!
its the weed pen or the heroin
@@Andf-kc4xx he doesn't do heroin anymore, I thought that was a common knowledge?
How do you know it's not ejuice with nicotine. He was a smoker
@@Yumicpcake because he's got a cigarette in another shot.
Wow, he’s actually finally acknowledging his own work again after 20+ years...
My goosebumps’ goosebumps have goosebumps…thank you Al- it’s not often I get a rocket ride to my teenage years.
Kinda proud to have raised my teens to drop into the bop-be-bop-bop chorus at the mere mention of Halloween anytime...
Al is the man! Met him at Wax Trax Records in Chicago so many years ago....
Can't tell if I love this or the original version more. So damn good.
Two of the greatest human beings that have ever lived
I never thought I'd hear a better version of this song..ever.
Here I am, loving the Loving Shit out of this version.
Where has this been for so long? The only work I can think of is "ASTOUNDING".
Damn. His voice has changed so much over these 35 years. Still sounds great! Now we just need him to do With Sympathy.
And the Twitch album!!
thing is... it really hasnt. al uses a lot of effects on his voice. he can still sing that old synthpop stuff if he wants to. i think his surgical meth something side project had a song where he sang clean and his voice is actually quite great for his age.
It’s happening. He did an interview with Yahoo where he announced he’s reworking the album to fit their current sound.
I saw him a year or so ago. He lip syncs....everything. 😢 except NWO and it sounded terrible.
But I still had a great time and prob would go again.
Happy Halloween!! The ultimate TRICK or TREAT!! Well done Al, Dave, and company!!
Beautiful! Happy halloween....
“Oh, why can't I live a life for me?
Why should I take the abuse that's served?
Why can't they see they're just like me?
It's the same, it's the same in the whole wide world”
These lyrics mean everything to me
This is beautiful I love the acoustic and original version
So glad to hear this, I thought Al swore off all his old stuff. Acoustic Twitch album next?
If I remember right this song is what pushed him to industrial
its theme song to a German movie called Radio Silence
It was mostly the With Sympathy material. IMO, that was a brilliant album
Front 242 was a big influence.
@@williamdewey9568 yes I agree... he hated New Wave, synth music.
This song he had to do because his producer made him do it.
This version makes me Cry. What a Beautiful song.
With Sympathy was my first. 1984 Singles, especially this song stays with me. Now this, it's just beautiful. Let me be very clear! Industrial is a huge part of my listening 🎧. The synth era, and to today is also huge with me! Punk, like DOA F'ed Up Ronnie! It's ME!🎸🔥🤘🏻 JUST SAYIN'🔥
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!
Such a beautiful spin on a classic. Thank you Al!
When I realized this was gonna be quite and acoustic I got chill bumps. This song always reminds me of cold air and smell of burning leaves.
God bless our seniors..gotta look up to them, now more than “ever”
this is mad nice. thank you all for making this.
What an amazing arrangement. It conveys so much of the originals emotion and power. Absolutely touching, wanted, needed, and loved. Thank you!
That brought back some wonderful memories.
Embrace With Sympathy Uncle Al!! Anthem for all alternative kids in the 80's
