In 1990 I was going to see Nirvana during the week, and raving at the weekend to burgeoning electronic scene in Sheffield. Musicians were obviously doing the same, experiencing new music, sounds, influences, advances in affordable technology that allowed you to experiment

    So great! Love all eras of Ministry, this one and Twitch in particular, heard this on the Rock and Roll Alternative in Dallas sometime in '83 and it was instantly a favorite of mine out of all the new music hitting at that time. Duran Duran, Gary Numan, A Flock of Seagulls, The Clash, Buzzcocks, Souixie and the Banshees, The Cure, and so many more....

      Terence: yes, it's a terrific trance-funky groove, I love it. It's been an earworm of mine for years! As an English lad living in Evanston/ Chicago in 79-80. I was always in WaxTrax for the vinyl, but I have to say that the crew in there (which I think included Al J) were unfriendly and arrogant. Never mind, it was a great store, and with WXRT it made Chicago just cool enough for my 'sophisticated' 1979 Limey tastes.

    Ministry 1984 touring lineup: Al Jourgensen (vocals, guitar), Stephen "Stevo" George (drums, percussion), Patty Jourgensen (Jupiter 8 synth), Brad Hallen (bass, keyboards), John Soroka (keyboards), Yvonne Gage (vocals).

    • @abelisraelcruzayuso4682

      Synthetik Films is Stevo playing any drums or is it a drum box? Sometimes it really feels he’s really playing but then in the middle 8 and the end there’s this guy in the white t_shirt playing percussion, which I guess should be him...

    • @SyntheticFilms
      @SyntheticFilms 5 років тому +5

      @@abelisraelcruzayuso4682 I believe there was a full drum kit set up behind John Soroka (the tall synth player in the middle) where I believe Stevo was playing drums. You can see him playing for a little bit during the "I Wanted To Tell Her" clip. Stevo appears to transition from the drum kit to the standing percussion rig during the bridge. The other video clips from the 1984 tour (e.g., the Exit show in Chicago) also show Stevo transition between a full drum kit and the percussion setup depending on the song being played.

      Quite true... I'm thinking that perhaps Alvadido is a bit confused... besides what you pointed out... and unless I'm misinterpreting the first sentence... it seems to imply that Ministry didn't have the extreme changes in their musical style from this first album ... basically just honed their craft ... most of us know that they became the antithesis of this first album ... and quite quickly... and rinsed and repeated many times.
