David Gilmour more or less got her started in the music business industry. Because of the American backstory Peter originally wanted to record the song with Dolly Parton. But her office declined and so he turned to his good friend and previous collaborator Kate Bush. And most people are glad that he did.
BTW Peter's original choice was Dolly Parton, but thankfully, she turned him down. If you read the comments left against the official music video, you will see that this song is responsible for making a real difference to so many lives.

Most would consider this a slow song and its length probably has something to do with that, but I don't recall another song getting to the chorus in under a minute and a half in! One of the best duets and the two are very good friends!

Genesis (the band Peter Gabriel helped found and was lead singer for up until 1975) proves longer songs are worth the time. If you want to hear something beautiful from their catalog, try The Carpet Crawlers (off The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway and sung by Gabriel) or Ripples (off Trick of the Tail and sung by Phil Collins).
Peter Gabriël said that when he was in the studio waiting for Kate, he was really nervous. He said he felt like he was waiting for the Queen. ❤❤

It's the sun, and a solar eclipse. It symbolises Peter's journey into darkness and depression until Kate draws him back into the light.
