- My old filing cabinet fell apart, so I decided to build myself a new one.
So I am giving free sketchup plans for it.

What is the purpose of having the back panel of the drawers peek up over the sides that extra half inch?

Just a little stop for the files if you don’t use the metal cage like I did. If you were to use the plastic side cap slides.
