Becoming. As for something individualized that I realized this week, which may have been due to pondering on topics in this lesson: It wasn't very pleasant, but as I work to resolve them, positive things are happening. I realized I have/had two hidden emotional agendas in my body sabotaging it from healing. I have been working on them some myself since I realized them and I have a practitioner who has techniques to help. More becoming!

We are so lucky to have the scriptures and the opportunity to study together. It is BECOMING part of my life and I appreciate the time and effort you give to us! I love the thought that the light of Jesus Christ is from the inside out, not the outside in. As my husband and I are the only two active members in our family I constantly pray that we will be and example, a light for the rest of our family and especially our grandchildren! Thank you again for your time and effort.

After my divorce, I was so sad, crying and couldn’t figure out why. Divorce was the right decision for me so why was I so upset. My daughter said mom your mourning. Your mourning for what should have been, your mourning broken covenants and promises. She was so right! Mourning was a process to heal. Christ was with me and I could feel how loved I was and am. Through Christ I’ve grown so much over the last five years and Becoming the best me I can be. People who knew me before my divorce and see me now say how happy I look and that I just glow. I know that is the light of Christ. I have been so blessed and continue to be blessed every day.

Becoming, what a concept from a peacemaker. I love this verse as often it was hard to maintain peace in my large family growing up, and now that they are grown, it still is hard when we all get together. However, I love them all. Claire in Independence, MO

This week was so hard, I thought I was past this kind of pain. My grandson had a 5 hour back surgery for scoliosis. He's at the hospital with his mom, my daughter. Being away from him has been so hard. Knowing the pain he is in. So, I am becoming g to realize, there are miracles but opposition to those miracles.

Becoming is the word. Love from Brisbane Australia. Thank you both for another amazing lesson on the love and the confidence that Heavenly Father and Jesus have for all of us. I am a very ordinary grandmother but I have had amazing experiences in the Brisbane Temple that testify to me that this is the Lord’s church restored and what an amazing statement that is. I am truly humbled and grateful for this powerful testimony that I have. This world is very hard to manage sometimes but I feel that I can manage it with the love of my Saviour and my Heavenly Father. Hi Steve and Chelsea, I enjoyed this week's lesson. A friend of mine sends me a spiritual thought every day. Yesterday she sent me one about showing our good works. Realizing, no matter how small it seems, that Heavenly Father sees what we do. And what you guys said about confidence in showing our good works, we may glorify God. To not hide our light under a bushel. I love bearing my testimony. Even though my knees start knocking when I get up on Sunday. But anytime I have the opportunity to bear it about Family History, I absolutely love it. ❤️ So, from Coos Bay, Oregon, we love you guys. Keep up the light you bring to us each week.

On John Hilton III UA-cam channel he has separated out clips in The Chosen to go along with CFM. I love these quotes by Jesus when He is planning His Beattitudes speech....they are a "map/directions to find me". "If anyone wants to find me, these are the people they should look for." The meek, humble, peacemakers etc. A stairway of becoming like God, and Jesus is with us every step of the way.

Remembering that my kids are in the process of becoming allows me to show them more Christlike love. Which means a better relationship. Trying to guide them but not in a controlling way creates freedom to love them more fully for me. This helps me in my ‘becoming’ as well. Mahalo for a great lesson.

You mentioned mourning and becoming and help from our savior so I have battled with the feeling to share a comfort given to me when my brother passed it was hard to sit in the hospital day by day for a week and watch him he was homeless and an alcoholic but he was close to his family as I was preparing to talk at his funeral I was given the message that he was were he was supposed to be he was not meant to grow old and the peace that knowing he was where he was supposed to be was over whelming and the flash that let know he was happy happier than he had been for a long time comforted me I am so thankful to my savior for understanding us all and the message that he to loved my brother helped me heal ❤

While we are working on becoming more like Jesus, we shouldn't forget about doing our genealogy and finding out what ancestors need their work done.
I don't know how many have done this, but have you checked to see how many famous relatives you have. I am distantly related to over half of the US Presidents, Princess Diana and Winston Churchill. I am still trying to answer the question, “how am I blessed when I morn?” I am doing a little better, since my husband passed 6 months ago. The pain of him not being with me every day, not being able to hug him every day, not being able to talk with him every day, is sometimes more than I feel I can handle. I do feel the Lord has blessed me to continue study the scriptures and have family and friends around. Most of the time I feel a hole in my heart. Sorry, I didn’t mean to go on. I appreciate all you do and say! Thank you very much! Please forgive my rambling. Linda from Oregon

We can get so close to the savior with mourning ❤
    We feel that heart softness
It calls out angels to us
It calls God to come to our aid to soothe us
I remember one of my earliest and strongest testimony moments was when I went through my hard childhood stuff and my personal traumas I found solice in my closet .. and discovered the power of the song child’s prayer and would sing it out loud over and over and over as I sobbed and the power of that has stayed with me and will forever . Because it was a spirit manifeston instead of simply proof through my body.
It wasn’t until years later I learned about the counsel to retreat to our secret places and that Hymns were prayers

My son is 30 yrs old, had another upheaval in his life.
I've been to hell and back a few times with him in the past 12 years.
His narcissist behavior is poison to my soul, my well-being.
Plain and precious things I have shared with him of my testimony and spiritual moments over the years which are later shot at me like poisonous arrows when he makes a choice to move out of the light, again.
Turning the other cheek, forgiveness, do they require me to let him live under the same roof? Pay his bills or buy him things he needs? I've heard the words "I've changed" so many times before and supported him to have him turn around and throw it all away. I pray for him daily. I know it's his right to choose his path.
What is my part? I ask Heavenly Father this all the time. Waiting and listening, reading and praying.

I am BECOMING better each day as I study the scriptures. I heard a couple of things as I was reading the week. One was as I was reading Matthew 5:38 "Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:" I heard "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a cow for a cow, a sheep for a sheep" and my thought was when someone asks something of us we want more back than was taken. An eye or a tooth is taken and we want the whole body back. A cow or a sheep is taken and we want the whole farm back. But the Lord says in verse 42 "Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away." So the Lord is saying, when someone asks, give freely. Everything we have belongs to the Lord anyway so share what you have plus a bit more. Then don't expect them to repay you by giving back more than they borrowed. Then, if they don't repay you don't get angry. Anger will hurt you.

I don't find forgiveness as hard as allowing them to do it again and again while I'm forgiving them

I have really enjoyed adding your videos to my study routine. I already have a couple other channels that I subscribe to. One is very scholarly and sometimes longwinded:/ one is DMT, with which I’m sure you familiar. I have really enjoyed your unique insights and concise lessons. There have been many times, as I take notes, where I feel inspiration lead me in new directions, and it’s great. However ( and I have wrestled with saying this because I don’t want to be negative), as much as I appreciate Steve’s enthusiasm, things like the high five/fist bump stuff make me feel like I’m in a primary class :/

    Becoming...
In Mat 5:48 Christ says "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."
But in 3 Nephi 12:48 He says "Therefore I would that ye should be perfect even as I, or your Father who is in heaven is perfect."
The difference is that Christ's mission is now complete... fully developed.
Look back to the footnote of perfect...

I think the scriptures mean what they say. Moroni taught it properly when he said that we should be "perfect in Christ" (Moroni 10:32,33). If the translation was not correct in the NT, why didn't Joseph Smith correct it in the Book of Mormon? It says the exact same thing in the Book of Mormon (3 Nephi 12:48), and I take it at it's word. We seek for the mighty change and the power from God to help us become perfect: that's being perfect in Christ. I seek every day to be perfect in Christ - I don't change the words. But, that's just me... Also, I love the first two beatitudes that are left out of the NT and included in the Book of Mormon (3 Nephi 12:1,2) - great stuff!

Have you ever thought about praying to cast out the devils and unclean spirits that infect your family so that the relationships can be healed. I have done this for my family and I know that things have improved. Every family has this to one degree or another, but some are worse than others. We don't like to talk about this in the church, but it is everywhere in the NT, it was in the early church, and it is true today. Do we think this is less of a problem now than it was 2,000 years ago? I don't think so.
