I’ve been teaching for three days and I already feel like you. I tried to resign yesterday, but my students, my team and principal convinced me to stick it out a little more. I’m going to try to stick it out until the end of the year. However, this will be my first and last year teaching.

Teachers are my absolute heroes. I’ve said this since my now college student daughter was in Pre-k. It makes me so sad how we as a country undervalue teachers and education. I am a nurse and I have wanted to transition into elementary Ed for a long time but just can’t due to all the things you’re talking about. Big hugs. 💖 you are amazing!
I was happy and proud to work with students with challenging behaviours. What I couldn't manage was the adults who had challenging behaviours. Life turns us sometimes in strange directions and we can't clearly see the path, and then one day there it is. Be good to yourself, like in an airplane- put your own mask on first.

While I’m so sad to see you go, I have been here since your first video here on UA-cam. You were my inspiration. This is my 11th year. I’m praying on leaving because as a black male we don’t see many males teaching. I am just so scared to make the wrong decision.

i know ur probably not reading these comments anymore but i will miss u as a teacher so so much u were so funny and kind u taught so many kids to feel okay when they eat sugar and for them to feel comfortable in there own body❤

I see you as an awesome teacher and really those students do too because despite the behaviors that happen during the year when the pressure is on you and them when that last day of school at the end of the school year comes those children come out embracing you when the pressure is off that should be what tells you that you are a successful teacher and to me your emotions and expressions said it all.
We who love you support you in your next stage of your life in being a resource to other educators and I personally want to thank you for your sharing your teacher journey on here and exposing what is happening in our system.

Best of luck in your new adventure. Everything happens for a reason and in less than 3 months you will look back and say this was the best decision I made for myself at this time. The good thing about teaching is, you can always go back. I taught for 7 years, left for 16 to raise my family and returned when my youngest was in 1st grade. In those early days, I second guessed myself, but looking back now, it was the best decision for me at the time.
What did you use on your 12x12 clear boxes to remove the days of the week words?
I was wondering if you could share how and why you got into photography and the journey on making that decision...

Not sure if you've ever considered charter schools? They don't have many of the issues that public schools have. I've never taught in public school, only charter/private schools. It's not perfect by any means, but there aren't so many issues. Maybe that's something you would want to look into some day. I believe the teaching style would be very different, too.
