Step 1: Make sure your deck is stacked with a collection of Persona cards with a variety of nullifications. This'll especially be the case with the Showtime boosters; make sure you whittle him down as much as you can with them. Nocturnal Flash along with Debilitate/Heat Riser allowed me to spam Morning Star with Lucifer. That killed off a lot of the dires just from getting caught in each other’s all out attack. Reaper took a lot of damage from that too. This fight is so fun.
The little amount of damage YOU deal, vs the huge amount of damage THEY deal to you... That's why I feared to imagine how a Reaper battle Hyrule Warrior/One Piece style would be...

@@andrichomann8562 I would suggest building a persona with Nocturnal Flash, Dizzy Boost, Ailment Boost and 99 in Luck. From there, spam whatever attack or spell from a persona that has Technical Adept and you should be able to stunlock the reaper, reapplying Dizzy whenever necessary. Once the dire shadows appear, it actually gets easier. Lure the dire shadows and the reaper into the same general area and spam Dizzy again, and as soon as one gets hit by the ailment just go ham with the technical hits and All Out Attacks and the Reaper should not be able to even make a move.
I just started my merciless playthrough and the mini boss bicorn in the waterways was harder than legitimately everything in my first playthrough on hard difficulty. Like I never thought I could be one shotted at 609 hp by lunge.
I didn’t realize until I saw this video that this is the SAME REAPER that can be found in Mementos in Royal and 5. I started playing Royal almost a week & 1/2 ago so I was surprised when I saw this video and put 2 & 2 together
My strategy for the Reaper (Merciless) Step 1: Stock up on items (recommend Soma and Balm Of Life or any items that revive teammates with full hp) Step 2: Before you start the fight, if you have Yoshitsune with Attack. Defense, and Speed Masters, you can basically start the battle with Heat Riser. First Phase I start with applying Debilitate on the Reaper and then I switch to Black Frost and basically spam either Ice Age or Diamond Dust (depends on what you have on him) for the whole first phase. Once the Reaper is frozen, you can either continue to freeze him or use Hassou Tobi on Yoshitsune. Keep in mind that the reaper has exactly 195,500 health, so while the fight can take a while, the first phase is easy. Second Phase (Halfway) Luckily, once you're about halfway down the fight, the Reaper doesn't immediately summon the Dire shadows. There is still a little bit of time to continue freezing him before he summons them. Use that time to your advantage. Once the dire shadows do appear, I recommend using a Soma to fully heal hp and sp so that you can be ready. The dire shadows that appear in the fight are as follows: Mithras (Abyss Jail), Eligor (Osaka Jail), Yatagarasu (Kyoto Jail), and Archangel (Tree Of Knowledge). All these dire shadows have the same weaknesses as when you first encounter them in their respective jails, so while there's no need to worry, I do recommend that you remember what these dire shadows are weak to so that you are better prepared. Starting with Mithras, it's weak to Ice, Bless and Curse. I decided to use the same strategy with the reaper where I just freeze Mithras until it's frozen so that you can do an all out attack (while dealing with the shadows, try to get the reaper as close as you can to you're skills hitbox so that you can also damage him. After dealing damage, Eligor will appear as the next shadow. If by any chance Mithras isn't dead by then, switch to Metatron so that you can spam Makougaon to damage both of them since they're both weak to Bless. If you did manage to kill Mithras before Eligor appears, then switch to Thor so use can spam Wild Thunder while also damaging the reaper so that you can do an A.O.A again. After some time, Yatagarasu will appear. At this point, you don't have to do this, but personally you MUST finish Eligor in time so that the next two shadows will be easier to deal with. On to Yatagarasu, it's weak to Fire, Ice, and Nuke. So use the same strategy as before, but instead switch to Trumpeter or Mot (Depends who you have) to deal Nuke damage to it. After some time, Archangel will appear as the last dire shadow in the entire fight. Now, depending if the reaper is already dead or not, you should be almost done in killing the reaper at that point, if not, then do the same strat on Archangel and deal nuke damage while again also dealing damage to the reaper. (If Yatagarasu is still alive, then just continue dealing nuke damage since both shadows are weak to nuke, and also you might want to use Soma if needed). After all the shadows are gone, this is completely optional but you can finish with a showtime to stylishly finish the reaper and FINALLY finish the fight. P.S: all of my personas used were at Lv. 99 but not max stats, so there could be minor differences.
If you need a place to grind out the somas, the tree of knowledge dire shadow gives them out upon consecutive defeats. With how grueling this boss fight is, you’ll probably need at least 10 if you have max stats, and are using the right sp regenerating builds, more if you’re not.
EMMA+ on merciless is just the long game for me, orbs arent really issue but she has a ton of health and it may be the cutscenes prolonging the fight more than merciless reaper really

Wow that’s crazy . I just did exactly that recently with black frost and yoshitsune. I also used Lucifer and metatron during first phase. The team I used was joker, Morgana, Sophia, and zenkichi. I was prioritizing the dire shadows and was also hitting the reaper as well killing Two birds with one . Only Morgana died once during last phase but it went perfectly well. Joker and Zenkichi should be on the main platform, as I had them be really tanky and had the personas to cycle through draining almost every element.
Nope you unlock lucifer when you enter ng+ reason being that p5s is a sequel to p5 joker loses the ability to summon satanael similar to how he couldn't summon him again in p5r after the battle with yaldabaoth until you beat the third semester in and reach ng+

If you beat the game than reload your save Lavenza gives you request to defeat harder versions of 4 of the jail monarchs and the final boss, once you beat all of those you get a final request to fight the reaper. Beating him unlocks new game plus, and Merciless difficulty.
@@raffrumble6196 so wait, the reaper is a new game boss? so when I beat the game I load the save data of the game I won and then when I get to a certain point I can fight him?? Is that right???
no, there's essentially a post-game section where after you beat the main story you reload your save you get access to new bosses, including the reaper. You can start a ng+ after you beat the reaper
@@splatoonistproductions5345 yeah very similar, you'll actually unlock new requests for all the boss battles again but they're all harder, but you also get access to requests where you'll fight specific very strong shadows in certain locations in the jails (not the dire shadows these are different) and you have to go through and beat all of those before you can unlock the request to fight the reaper
Sadly, it's only capped at 60FPS. It's a crime in this day in age to have capped framerates. What about all the people who spent the extra money to take advantage of their high refresh rate monitors?
It's actually not that hard once you prepare the right way. You only need lucifer with almighty and dizzy build for reaper and alice to grind outside for items and reset sophias shop. During the fight you need to continuously dizzy him and hit him with technicals till he reaches 50%. Then pay a bit more attention and get rid of his minibosses then get back to him and repeat what you did in first 50% hp. Always use items when any of allies is under 100% hp and always have buffs running in second half. I dare to say last story boss on painful ++ merciless is far harder because you need all people good and maaaaany more items and attention to use them on spot. I used 100 gauge increase items there to finish without stressing lol.

Nope you unlock lucifer when you enter ng+ reason being that p5s is a sequel to p5 joker loses the ability to summon satanael similar to how he couldn't summon him again in p5r after the battle with yaldabaoth until you beat the third semester in and reach ng+
@@ElectricGhost66 Thats lame, they could've let us fuse satanael in NG+ instead of Lucifer
@@jackjohnson8305 I would've liked that as well but let's be honest this is also a way to get people to want to buy the og game or royal by not putting satanael. You can tell that's how they're thinking since they drop hints of things that happened in the first game but don't bother explaining to the new characters hopefully we get another sequel/spinoff
@@jackjohnson8305 lucifer is just as strong as sataneal and morning star wreck everything in this game. Its about time lucifer got a spotlight.
A spiral bookmark for what exactly?
From what I've read it allows you to fuse the most powerful persona in the game
@@morganhe-man3543 which is?
Edit: just checked and it only unlocks NG+ for you so thats false, the last persona you'll unlock in the game is Lucifer
@@jackjohnson8305 guess the article i read was wrong
How do you fight this guy btw?? Is it part of the endgame by chance??
@@philipdowdell3429 ooooh wait, is it that whole sorta thing where you can fight each boss again at least once thanks to a request?? is that it??
@@splatoonistproductions5345 yeah very similar, you'll actually unlock new requests for all the boss battles again but they're all harder, but you also get access to requests where you'll fight specific very strong shadows in certain locations in the jails (not the dire shadows these are different) and you have to go through and beat all of those before you can unlock the request to fight the reaper
I never thought you need teamates to fight the reaper
Seriously??
Man, I'd forgotten that in P3 you can solo the fucker
@@OpalRhea13 You can pretty much solo him in every game if sufficiently prepared.
Thanks.
FPS is really low for PC
Sadly, it's only capped at 60FPS. It's a crime in this day in age to have capped framerates. What about all the people who spent the extra money to take advantage of their high refresh rate monitors?
you can thank denuvo for that. they leaked a denuvoless exe that works on steam tho
This is insane, hell i couldn’t beat him on merciless even if i cheated the game.
