@deltanu3330 That’s so ridiculous. This is insanity not “classic Trump voter”. I’m a Trump voter and would never gift a 14 yr old with a high powered gun. That’s nuts and illegal. 14yr olds can’t legally own those guns. If someone makes threats online and the FBI knows this, the entire home should lose their right to bare arms. And ALL schools should have medal detectors and stronger security. Meanwhile Kamala wants to remove police from schools

His family, the FBI and local police and school failed this child over and over. He should not have been gifted a gun or remained in the public school system after the previous threats. People make fun that the younger generations, starting with millenials and down, are too soft and in their feelings. But this is why mental health talks and a society with strong emotional intelligence are important. Still too much stigma around getting people the help they need. Parents, especially of certain mindsets and ages, don't want to get their children help bc they see it as weak. "My child is fine, everyone else is the problem". If his dad took his son's OBVIOUSLY-disturbed mental health seriously, lives could have been saved.

He gets the right to presumed innocence, the right to a speedy trial, the right to face and cross-examine his accusers, the right to testify in his defense or to choose not to, among many other rights. Everyone arrested in U.S. (whether citizen or not) gets those rights until they waive them through plea deals.
Besides, there isn’t even an indictment yet so slow your roll. Justice follows a certain path. This kid will not be able to afford an attorney that will drag this thing out (that’s something only rich criminals can do) so I’m sure the trial will happen before he’s old enough to drive.

His mother throwing him and his siblings out of the house late at night on several occasions and locking the door. There were times there was no food in the house. MULTIPLE visits by police and DHS but they never intervened. The SYSTEM left these kids in the care of a drug addict and a violent home. The FBI also failed him last year. Does he need to face consequences for his actions? Most definitely! But my heart hurts for all involved. This could have been prevented if everyone in this childs life that knew what was going on would have done something. I don't feel sorry for him but I do ask myself what it is going to be like for him to go through this process, that would flummox an adult in many ways, as a fourteen-year old, and presumably, unless he is as devoid of human emotion as an organized crime hitman, make his way through the justice system, particularly when it seems he has no reasonable defense. Whether or not he regrets what he has done, he must be in a daze.
As for the father, Dante has a place for him. It is hard to imagine what he was trying to achieve with his son by giving him a military-style weapon...when the MILITARY would not allow him in to be trained under strict supervision to use a military-style weapon for another four years.
