Great video. I just paid 280 to have bank 1 replaced and the next day bank 2 went. Good thing I purchased all 3. I am doing this tomorrow! I am now confident I can do this!
Good video. I got the same code on a 200k '09 V6 accord sedan but just changed the primary & secondary oxygen sensors, reset the scanner. Problem solved. But those 02 sensors are not cheap, got NGK's at Napa for about 60% price compared to the dealership. If you get this code, fuel quality surprisingly might unlikely be the culprit, then maybe your mass-air flow sensor needs cleaning/ replacement, but it's most likely your 02 sensor(4 on the V6), then maybe your cat converter.
Clutch on the video. I didn't see any other youtube videos going over this. My 2011 accord V6 sedan has been throwing (on and off for 2 years) code P0430. One mechanic wanted $1500 for parts and labor (apparently OEM part is $950). Insane. Can you share the detailed PNs of everything you needed either as a comment or video description?
I have the 2010 Accord V6 , Same Code, I noticed that I was burning more gas than usual. Did you notice any performance difference? I thinking about getting a Magnaflow cat
O2 sensors throw different codes. The p0430 and p0420 “cat below efficiency” are basically end game for catalytic converters. Aside from possible wiring issues, 9 out of 10 times it’s a cat
Are you in CA? CA is strict with replacing catalyticd converters. They require a certificate of the new CATS and proof thay they needed to be replaced.
Yeah Honda really screwed up the great j30 series with the stupid VCM one of their many lately that’s probably the real reason they decided to stop making it in 2017 I was able grab a 2017 model V6 coupe still almost like new garage kept one owner trade for a 4 door 2022 model with only 32,300K miles on it I currently also own a 2010 3.5 V6 coupe the one that i gutted the cats on here Mississippi we can do that and get away with it because it no longer requires vehicle inspections thank goodness lol 😂
Thank you. I have a P0430 code but that's all, not P0420. Should I replace the Bank 1 anyway even if I didn't get a code for it? I guess what I mean to ask is, if one goes out does the other usually follow suit shortly thereafter? Thanks.
Great question! Well it depends. Did your car misfire making the P0430 pop up? If so most likely the other one is bad as thats what happened in my case. If it didn’t misfire and only shows the code for P0430, personally I wouldn’t change bank 1 until I see the code for it
Yes you will get the p0420 later like I did but instead of replacement of cats i simply removed and gutted them and used some minicat o2 sensor extenders gained about 15 horsepower and still no check engine lights it eliminated a lot of the restriction also gutted the third cat now it sounds great too
It means bank 2 (bank 1 is far side by the window), front Catalyst System experiencing issues. If you have a good scanner it'll tell you exactly what's wrong. Likely your 02 sensor needs replacement depending on mileage (recommended 60-100k). It's easy to do, and I would not buy the OEM part from Honda, you can get it much cheaper at Napa or Amazon.
I mentioned in my other video of the p0420 that the car misfired before so it most likely messed up the cats. Yeah i drove with the code on for awhile. You may feel a loss in power

all good now? installed? anythinh notable?

Dude, thank you for making this video. I think you're the only video I could find out there on it..

Is your car CA emissions and did you replace with CA or just EPA certified?
I have the 2010 Accord V6 , Same Code, I noticed that I was burning more gas than usual. Did you notice any performance difference? I thinking about getting a Magnaflow cat
Its a direct oem replacement so no change in performance
How many catalytic converters does this car have?
how do you know if the p0430 is the cat or just the oxygen sensor?
Exactly what i was wondering man

Swap sensors see if it follows
Hi There I have a question? how many gasket total to replace the new cat bank2? Thank you .
2

We all just love that VCM system on our V6 Hondas 🤦♂️ I wish I found the vcm muzzler sooner

Have you had any issues with it or the engine light?
Nope everything runs normally. No check engine light
What size is the Oxygen sensor socket? I have an 2009 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L V6 (iVTec Engine)
Thank you. I have a P0430 code but that's all, not P0420. Should I replace the Bank 1 anyway even if I didn't get a code for it? I guess what I mean to ask is, if one goes out does the other usually follow suit shortly thereafter? Thanks.

This was so helpful thanks
What's that metal ring inside the plastic with the gaskets
so code P0430 means replace the front CAT? I only have code P0430. I keep resetting it but it comes back in 2 weeks every time.

thanks did you replace original. where did you get it.
Bought it from rockauto
By any chance do u know which cat u bought , thank u
Thank you man lol
Trip, I am missing that same bolt in my 2010 EX-L.
Do you have the website link for oem cat and gasket
I was fighting w them sensors too lol
Did this clear the code?
Yes it did. No more check engine light
Did you figure out the cause for your catalytic converter failing?
Also how long did you drive your car until you got your parts. Is driving with po430 code okay to do?
I mentioned in my other video of the p0420 that the car misfired before so it most likely messed up the cats. Yeah i drove with the code on for awhile. You may feel a loss in power
I have a P0420. Never had any misfires. Wtf
Don’t say “omg”. You’re breaking the 3rd commandment sayin that. Repent for your sin and Ask the lord to forgive you and he will
0430 is the other side. That’s not the right one.
False. It is the correct one
