Good video. I got the same code on a 200k '09 V6 accord sedan but just changed the primary & secondary oxygen sensors, reset the scanner. Problem solved. But those 02 sensors are not cheap, got NGK's at Napa for about 60% price compared to the dealership. If you get this code, fuel quality surprisingly might unlikely be the culprit, then maybe your mass-air flow sensor needs cleaning/ replacement, but it's most likely your 02 sensor(4 on the V6), then maybe your cat converter.

I just put mine in the other day and now I’m wondering… how am I gonna replace these ball joints when they wear out?? Lol am I gonna need to get them from Godspeed only? I didn’t really look over the ball joint setup on em, just slapped em in the middle of the adjustable area and put em in, but maybe the ball joints can be removed from their mount idk. I still gotta put in the rear UCAs so I’ll check those ball joints and see what the deal is gonna be when the time comes

Great video. I just paid 280 to have bank 1 replaced and the next day bank 2 went. Good thing I purchased all 3. I am doing this tomorrow! I am now confident I can do this!

Seems Bank 1 is always has the faulty cat - could it be due to the VCM shutting off? My check engine light always comes on when I'm cruising at highway speeds and I get the same P0420 error. If the cat cannot heat up properly due to the VCM shutting down two of the three cylinders, if you kill the VCM and run all six cylinders, would this bring back the cat back to life? The cat runs from heat and if there is only 1 cylinder firing on that side of the motor, it would make sense the cat would throw that P0420 code cause its not getting sufficient heat from just one cylinder firing. I wanna cut off the VCM and run the car and see if that error comes back again.

0430 is the other side. That’s not the right one.

Old, retired, still driving the red 99 my wife bought new in Santa Rosa 24 years ago. 207,000 miles, faded paint that I am going to get redone but other than that runs great, daily driver. Not fast in a straight line but handles better than any other front driver, as well as some rear wheel drivers. Will never part with this car.

I had my 2012 accord v6 overhauled in 2014 because of the same issue you talked about. I called the local Honda dealership and there was a recall. They covered the overhaul and reprogrammed the fuel management system.. I have 170k with no problems. I'm getting 31mpg on Hwy. You might want to call Honda dealer.

if your RPM's tend to get really low when getting warm or even get a check engine llight when fully warmed up and cant rev past 3000 RPM, you need to swap your ignition distributor.. My non-vtec (F20A4) had this issue. Very easy and fast fix, if you can get ur hands on one. GET A OEM ONE!

Are you in CA? CA is strict with replacing catalyticd converters. They require a certificate of the new CATS and proof thay they needed to be replaced.
