- Good thing we don't take life to seriously over here! I am BACK! (and making stuff without thinking it through.... again 😅) Sometimes the Joy of creating is more about the process and less about the end product, let's just call this weeks episode "a lesson in learning the same lesson I seem to always be learning".

your patience impresses me. I'd have given up 2 hours in. It's why my sewing machines laugh at me behind my back, my cat hears them at night and swats at them to keep them quiet.
good thing you have the cat to defend you 😂👍🏽
Our Queen has another sponsor 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
lol I never thought id get to this point, but here I am 🤩
You are so honest to show projects that don't go to plan and still show it. And that's why I love your UA-cam channel. x
part of me thought maybe I wouldn't show this project, but then I decided to upload it anyways because I have no shame 😂
thanks for posting this. fail projects are relatable.
lol im not even mad this was a fail, well, im not mad anymore 😂 when I first tried it on I defiantly felt like a massive failure 😂
Something I was told about knitting that applies to other crafts ."As you get better, you don't make less mistakes, you make bigger ones faster." Yeah, pesky measuring, so annoying, so easy to convince yourself that it's not necessary.
My aunt has a sign in her kitchen that says "Drink Coffee and do stupid stuff faster"
hahaha the validity of this statement feels very pointed 😂😂😂 I need to needlepoint that and hang it up in my sewing room
Wow, your creativity knows no bounds! 🎨👗 The idea of making a parachute-inspired dress is truly unique.Keep exploring and creating amazing content. We appreciate you! 🌟😊
Perfect video to watch while relaxing! Today is my birthday and this feels like a great way to end the day!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! 💕🙌🏽💕 I hope this next year is a good one!!
omg you had me cackling when you thought you were sewing the rectangles together but weren't XD sets a precedence for the rest of the project T_T Pink one is gorgeous though!
I love that you show the great project results and also those that you feel aren’t the greatest, it’s what’s so special about you- you keep it real! ❤
its nice to see when things don't work out cause I recently felt the same with a dress I was working on that just didn't work. seeing how you say to continue and bounce back from it makes me want to do the same and not feel as terrible about it
I feel lucky that I can just reuse the fabric from this dress really easy because I dont cut it up very much, so at lease I have that going for me!!
I love everything about this video. Speaking as a neurodivergent person (and I have no idea if you are too) this video is literally how my ADHD brain approaches every single sewing project 😅x
I’m so glad you like it!!! Not neurodivergent (as far as I know?) but I definitely have high functioning anxiety 😂 and that keeps me on my toes 😂😂🤦🏻♀️
@@AlexandriaLayne sorry to hear that. Anxiety can also be a symptom of undiagnosed ADHD according to my psychotherapist. Because the brain is struggling to function in today’s world. Maybe look into it? I didn’t get my diagnosis until I was 50 and it’s made a huge difference (positive) to my life and the way I approach stuff. Sending love 🥰
It would totally make that long ass trip to do a power puff girls shoot with you 😂😂😂
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 yay! Love your videos
thanks!
This is such a mood. I just recently finished a 6month project because it spent 3 in the corner of shame. Darn those projects that don't go according to plan! At least you can re-use the fabric for something rockin' next time!
I am very familiar with the corner of shame 😂 I have a big plastic bucket there and I shove all my most embarrassing projects deep inside 😂
@@AlexandriaLayne a bucket is a really good idea... I need to rethink the mountain of shame into a bin or something.... it would probably fall on me less 😅
Yooo! So much fabric lol. But it's perfect for vertical gathers like beauty and the beast/drapey curtain style. Just fold vertically and do your preferred gather method. I like elastic cut to the desired length.
hey thats a good idea!
😂😂😂being there, done that! O girl, my closet is full of that stuff! Don't give up. the new project will be great! 😘
lol my closet is packed full of *interesting* projects 😂😂 new projects coming soon!
@@AlexandriaLayne whoop whoop! Love it!
I’m new
You are funny and great
I have to play and play till I catch up😊
You know ... I'd just chop the seam allowance off of the skirts in order to separate them from each other (yes, I realize I'd have to re-gather the entire bottom ruffle, but at least I wouldn't have to seam rip it off) in order to fix the skirt. The top looks fine - if it had straps it'd stay up well enough since the ruching is enough to make it form fitting (if not tight enough to keep it up).
Love you, fr
thanks for watching!!!!!!
did you try steaming and pressing the shirring? usually for cotton fabrics that helps to shrink it down even further, but i’m not sure if it works the same for chiffon
Because this is a polyester chiffon steaming it won’t make it shrink like a cotton, lol funny story, I had this friend who wanted to wear a cute chiffon dress to a party and she decided to steam in like 10 minutes before we all left and the steam was so hot it burned a hole straight through the chiffon 😂😂 polyester is literally just plastic and doesn’t like too much heat! 😂😂😂
It would help, you just have to keep it at the minimum heat for steam and be super careful. You’re aiming to shrink the shirring elastic and that stuff shrinks quite a lot! It’d do nothing for the excess length though… but it’s something you should always do wit( shirring as it makes it look a lot better.
🎉🪂❤
At least the skirt sections are still big enough to easily repurpose the fabric.
Sorry babe, it happens to the best of us. ❤
dude yes! there Is so much reusable fabric on this dress!! not sure what I will make out of it, but im definitely not letting it go to waste!
I think that if you wanted and put the work in it could be salvaged but it would probably be really annoying😂
I agree, I could fix it if I wanted to keep working on it, but I think im going to move onto making it be something else, lol I dont have the fortitude to keep working on this dress 😂
@@AlexandriaLayne totally understand sometimes it's just too frustrating to try and fix something after it doesnt work out
What’s d link for d pink parachute dress. I can’t find it 😢
Omg do you have a pattern? I would love to purchase the pattern if you have one
I don’t have a pattern yet, I’m working on getting one figured out so people can make the dress but it’s slow going 😅
So, wait. What did you do for the deadline? Was that a personal deadline? Was the deadline real? What? @.@
I was going on a trip and I wanted to take the green dress to photograph, but I ended up not bringing it because it was so ugly 😂😂
@@AlexandriaLayne Ooooooooh, that makes sense now. I was so stressed for you. I thought the dress was very pretty even if it was too long. The colors were nice. Oh well, I hope your trip goes well besides!
Please make a tennis skirt
so, now you don't like making that style of dress!
