  • How do you live life with the end in mind, especially when you are told your days are numbered? We all know that Scripture calls us to live life through the lens of heaven, but how do we really do that?
For Colleen Chao, finding out she had Stage 4 Cancer forced her to think about living the way God called her to in spite of the fact or perhaps because of the fact, that she is dying. Having expected life to go in a much different direction, Colleen has been learning to see the beauty in the most unexpected places like suffering and pain.
In this episode, Davey has a raw conversation with Colleen on seeing God's beauty in the darkness of suffering, the transformative power of gratitude, and how the blood of Jesus can keep us from dwelling in our regrets.
You don't have to have a life-altering diagnosis to be encouraged by Colleen's story of living life fully when heaven is closer than you anticipated.

Wow, thanks for this beautiful episode. Coleen is such a gem with such an infectious smile. You are both gems. I was hanging on every word. Such wisdom and depth come out of people who are really suffering, and I appreciate and relate to what you both have said. I can't imagine losing my mom at age 11 or any age. I'll pray for Jeremy.
23:40 Thank you for saying you got angry with God. I sometimes struggle with that because of suffering, but He's always so merciful, forgiving, and faithful.
26:53 "Rubbing up against normal is really painful..." Yes! Exactly! Thanks for putting that feeling to words.

I lost my wife to cancer in April 2021. This story is so similar in the way that they chose to draw close to the Lord during the darkest hours and days. Colleen you are an amazing witness to God’s unending Love and Grace. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.

So many hurts, disappointments, hurt/ pain, frustrations that one human being could go through, many would call hope at this stage the fruit of brainwashing but no, Colleen's witnessing is raw in acknowledging suffering as it is and yet genuine in surfing over it, in per grace still being able to set her eyes on Him walking over the waters and taking her hand to step out of the boat of her journey on earth and keep taking steps over the water too, helping us all believe focused on Jesus no matter what
