@@Pixeliarmus It actually went really well! I cut my hair at home now and get compliments on it, though I keep it a little longer than in the video. It helps that my hair is wavy so any possible rough areas aren't noticeable when it curls up. And yeah, not using proper scissors but I may invest in some.
Get yourself a pair of good, sharp hair shears. It makes a difference

All of the stylists I know cut by what best suits the client. I have been steered off many trendy cuts that just would have been awful on me.

Yes, most of us who are professionals actually DO study, practice and consider many things, including suitability of the cut tor the client in our chair. We're not just grabbing a tool and whacking away without a thought. I enjoy watching other stylist's approach to the same cuts I do; especially one as skilled as Ms. Ford.

I would totally get this hairstyle if I had a hair stylist I trusted. It's honestly the most beautiful hairstyle I've ever seen. Voluminous, elegant, and classic yet different. Love it.

The only time I had my hair cut entirely with a razor was while on vacation in Paris. I took a giant leap of faith and the stylist was as wonderful as Susan. It was absolutely the best haircut I ever had. My hair wasn't frizzy and it always looked amazing. This hairstyle is gorgeous.

i did this to myself today and i am absolutely happy with the result. the sectioning took me forever but it was worth it. of course i couldn't do the back part as perfect but that was never the goal anyways. i have 2a-ish wavy/curly hair so nobody will be able to tell where i messed up and even if, its 10 times better than all the shit experiences i've ever had with hairdressers. thanks a lot :)

Lola Montez my hair is wavy and really thick and frizzy, and I can attest that this is so true. They either want to straighten it or hack it off, note: my hair is wavy. Not curly or coarse at all!

@Lola Montez There is no problem hair, just over dyed and overworked hair that has become a problem. Work with your hair not against it and it will be the way God intended, natural is beautiful.

Cheryl Tiseo I wish I could but I don't do videos. If you have wavy hair a good cut is essential. My hairdresser cut and thinned out my hair so the curls weren't so heavy if you know what I mean. Then she put a toner in just to take out some old blonde colour. I love how she did this. The Tiber added body too.

I just started cutting my own hair (and friend’s) this year and I’ve never heard of a feather plier razor but it looks like it gives really awesome results. Is it hard to get the hang of?
It is and it is a dangerous tool to use if you have not had correct training. Just stick to a guarded razor for now- sounds like you could be a future hairdresser!

Here’s the rub: how difficult is it to style yourself when your running out the door to work (eventually), getting kids to school (isn’t school sitting in front of the computer??!!)
On the serious side, how long does it take to style every morning and how often to you need to get it cut?? I still do think it a gorgeous haircut
Meg Williams This cut can be air dried if you have a wave or curl in your hair - product is key to work with your texture. A curl enhancer if it has a weak curl or a smoothing product of it tends to frizz. If you want to dress it up you can add a curling iron to the top sections. The beauty of this cut is that you can enjoy every stage as a it gets longer. To maintain the shorter length I recommend a trim about every 2 months. Thanks for the questions!

I love this transformation so much.! I've been considering this cut but with soft rounded baby bangs, and I've spent some time trying to figure out what would best suit my features. I have a diamond shaped face and a convex profile, my jawline is softer than the model in the video, and I also have type 2a hair/thick. I would appreciate some feedback from you as this is a big transformation for me as well and I have to admit, it's a bit intimidating lol.
