Man, I have got to say, its refreshing to have someone look at warthunder from your perspective, alot of channels I've found just show kill compilations or even get mad at you in the comments because you dont solely run meta fighters.
Some people don't get that this is a game, bombers and attackers have there roles and you can make them useful with some time and skill.
Every playstyle is legitimate if the person is having fun.
I'm too old, and have been gaming for far too long, to get hung up on other people's "skills" or style in some particular gaming meta.

@@TimsVariety thats something i find weird, why doesnt the german heli gets a built in gun turret but both the french AND italian do.
@@Thekilleroftanks Because Germany didnt order it as they didnt think it would need them, Germany thought that the .50cal gunpods would be sufficient for CAS. Furthermore at the moment when Germany thought to add the turret the project was already too advanced to add it to the german version. A few months back they got a proposal to refit the Tiger with a turret but it was declined as being to costly.
Edit: Apparently the point where the turret would be is where several sensors are located in addition to the FLIR system. Basically Germany added more technology for scouting etc and thus had to pass on the turret. But it would be cool to have the possibility to change it to a different version like the BMP-1 to the BMP-1P upgradekit but then having no access to the sensors and or FLIR.
Hey Tim, I just recently started to get back into War Thunder and have been watching a lot more War Thunder related content and have found yours to be my favorite. Your reviews have informed my decisions on what vehicles to go for, primarily jets. I hope you continue to post great content, even the content not related to War Thunder.

And showing the bombing runs and that is great because that is probably what you will be doing for the first couple of games
And could not agree more stand off helicopter gameplay and normal meta gameplay is nice from time to time but is just boring after awhile so thanks for putting different gameplay in ur vids

I watched your other vid imo take no notice of them haters. You do great realistic content. Yes we all can show the best battles you get and say stuff but you show us how any normal player plays in different ways using different weapons. I had it when making content on a different game and players seem to attack. Showing how the normal battles would go in that vehicle shows the truth and the way most battle outcomes happen. Great work and keep it up man
yeah yo got the point, Tims reviews/gameplays is the most realistic so far i can tell both for WT or the other game, especially for casual players and as far i can see Tims did this for fun, i dont get it how the way those gremlins think or what they achieved so they can trash on people, typical WT toxic plebs, much bark, cheers mate!

in regards to your video about criticisms and stuff I don't get what most of the people would be complaining about, you explain yourself in the videos like this one saying you don't like certain styles so you don't play them, I personally quite like the different styles of gameplay you use in your reviews as you are showing people what the plane or heli can be used to do correct or not

Their aren't similar at all.
At some point, I plan to do a run-down of each nation's "starter" helicopter. Most of them are pretty awful, but some are worse than others.
One thing I've learned from playing it a bunch in RB is that you don't need to press F to track a target to lock the PARS LR. Also, I would recommend against hovering with it, missiles are fast and it'll take longer to get out of hover and possibly dodge it. I absolutely love open maps and have been able to clean up targets in a decent location. However, I do recommend using F to stabilize the camera

@@mcMarcin6 F is to track the target you want to launch a missile to, you don't need to use it when using the PARS LR, just look at the target and press space until it'll lock
@@redditor758 F is the stabilization key though - so if you aren't moving at all your tip is fine.
But when you move the unstabed view wobels around too.

Weapon systems like this are why i still like the t90a as a later spawn, the rwr and shtora saved me from so many helicopter missiles!
are you sure shtora works against the Pars ATGMs?
@@adityabora9131 I am not, I can't tell what's being fired at me when in game.
I do know that I've seen many guided missiles deflect course and miss the T90a though, mostly air to ground missiles.
In the game Wikipedia for T90 there is a list of missiles the shtora works against if you are interested.

Like i said in my original message, the Shtora/rwr combo has saved me many times.

I might take and advantage of the "no chat" nerf and do some heli-runs maybe some actual CAS with the "dumb weapons" while the enemy players can't warn each-other of my presents, till its too late, or they use their head 4 a change!
AH-1Z Viper next? Only heli besides the AH-64A to have the AIM-9L in the game, not to mention a beefed up cobra with all the bells and whistles.
Not next, but I'll get to it eventually.
Hey Tim, if you double lock, you should be able to move the cursor around while maintaining lock on the target. Also, try manual control mode, it will not return to level flight when you do! Great for traversing the battlefield
Was on kursk last night on tank sim seen this heli behind friendly like by a hill basically sitting I the ground here and ther hile doing mild strafing side to side. I was focusing on shooting down any heli and planes I seen. But my position didnt make it easy to see many but he lasted the entire game and then sone
probably the only thing that manages to be just as bad (or worse) to face than the ka-52/mi-28nm
I think Ka52/Ka50/Mi-28Nm cause the missiles still have proxy is worse as you can eliminate all SPAA missiles.
ka-52/mi-28nm are better since they can missile joust enemy SAMs, shoot down planes effectively with both missiles and gun and are way more durable

I am somewhat intrigued that you didnt say anything bad about the pars, and their tendency to hit dead wrecks. Was that very common for you? because it is quite annoying for me.
Another thing, did you have any problems with locking targets with the pars, did it sometimes not register that you told it to lock the target or fire the missile? because that is one of my most hated things about it, and im getting more and more evidence that it is a location/ping
I never had problems hitting dead wreks, but there were a couple of times when a live tank was sitting near a dead tank that I had to fiddle with it a bit to lock the correct target.
Its entirely possible I've just had good luck with it.
The Stinger is not a bad missile.
10Gs are enough to work with and 6Km locks are rare but happened to me really often. Just make sure the enemy is not too close to you since they dont track right off the rails
The big problem with the Stingers is that Gaijin for whatever reason refuses to give them their proper explosive mass, being anywhere from 1/3 to 1/10 of the actual warhead’s mass. So in game the Stinger does way less damage than it should
I'd like to get into helicopters, what kind of games do you play to unlock them yourself? I played tank RB and the rewards were really small.

I try to keep politics out of gaming as much as I can, but I'm a legislator in the United States serving my 5th term in elected office. This will be my last year, and I'll probably be a little more open about it after December when I "retire". Gaming/UA-cam is a side-hobby for me, as silly as it might sound its basically my primary stress outlet.

I am currently grinding to get to this beauty and I must say the grind is just downright cruel. Although I am playing with German premium Hind it is still very slow without premium account. On top of that the German premium Mi-24P HFS 80 is not very good at 9.7 BR and the fact you have to research practically the same helicopter twice in the German heli tree does not help (looking at BO 105 PAH-1 and 1A1 are exact same helicopters). In the end, as an avid heli pilot, I am looking forward to trying out something out of the mold of a standard heli meta, since this is the only helicopter with PARS 3 missiles but I might just quit beforehand. Remembering how horrid the grind will be on the Tiger to unlock them fire and forget missiles (I mean.. only 2 mighty mouse pods!?)
This is the best helicopter in the game for ground rb and one of the best for heli ec. Can’t. Change my mind. You can just hide behind hills with the camera peaking over then find a target launch a missile then hide back down. U can’t die. And they work on helicopters very well to. Basically 8 mavericks. Oh and yes I forgot to say that it’s very manouverable to

It does, except if you are targeting targets above you or if you fire at targets right below you with your nose down.

Enable the comments on your trolls video. I have some deep criticisms of your content (mostly the accuracy of some of your aerial histories, which I have noticed a couple that are extremely inaccurate), but everything you said in that video was 100% true, and I'm tired of L2P people.

If used correctly by a good pilot, this thing can easily outplay a Ka52/Mi28NM. I own all three, and while Ka52/Mi28NM are easier to use off the bat, those PARS 3LR can do some wonderful tricks if you learn them and respect them.
But the best heli comes at a price. You get a terrible premium to grind the tree and you have two 400K RP shitty helis before it that you have to grind. It pays off though.
Only real possible con to this thing is no radar. I set my radars to air mode so it finds enemies planes for me while I can focus on the ground. So you simply have to have higher situational awareness with this thing.

i had my ALt+F4 moment with this thing yesterday :D first PARS absorbt by BMP 3 track from a perfect side hit second Pars BOUNCED of a t80 Gun barrel and hit the cheeck i hit that ALT+F4 so damn fast like never before .......... made me almoast uninstall this game

This comment is about your haters video. I honestly have to say. War thunder players are some of the most toxic people I’ve ever met in a video game. It honestly gives me vibes of the old call of duty days. I really never play competitive anymore for this reason. But even when i go in custom battles i still get the same hate. All because I’m a level 21 and buy premium jets. It feels stupid that i even need to explain why but here we go.

Premiums really aren’t THAT expensive if you have a job. $60 here and there isn’t really big deal. It pisses me off how these neckbeards tell me how I’m supposed to spend my money.
I buy the jets that i like and sure I’m not the best at flying some of them. And others i would say I’m pretty good with.
Also side note if you wanna feel the radiant toxicity of custom battles go on the Aussie mantis mod lobby and you’ll see what i mean. Its full of toxic players.

Hi, you might be new here. Most of my gameplay footage is not "playing to win:" , its playing to demonstrate specific things for the sake of the review. In the segment I think you are referencing, my intention was to demonstrate the narrow firing window of the missiles - which I think was demonstrated effectively. You may have also missed the part where I mentioned that how I play helicopters generally is a bit non-meta, as I find the "stand off at 6km, lob missiles, weave in and out of cover" to be exceptionally boring - both to play, and watch - so I only include a tiny amount of that in my captured footage.
Another example (which I thought was obvious but maybe not?) is the part at around the 6 minute mark hitting that tank with multiple tow missiles - allowing the auto-lock to score ineffective hits center of mass (which I mentioned being an issue in my commentary), then manually targeting the ammo rack for the kill.
TLDR - the point of my reviews is to try and give a well-rounded impression of the vehicle, not just to show off some match I got lucky and rolled up 9 kills or whatever.
