  • I went to CPP (Classic Performance Products) and bought a new oil pan that will fit the ls3 into my BMW E46. In this video I show you how to take off and replace the oil pick up tube and how to assemble the new oil pan. If you have any questions let me know in the comments or message me on Instagram.

    Im guessing you have heard it over and over but I hope it NEVER gets old for you... You are the kind of woman that MOST men dream of. Not only are you gorgeous, but you are a gear head!!! I can honestly say that before I saw your videos here, you were just a theoretical thing like a unicorn... There are MANY vids with girls working on cars but they try so hard to be "cool" like the guys and it is SO transparent. Basically, besides your beauty, is your acknowledgement of not knowing certain things you are doing, which 99.99% of the guys commenting, are in the same position but are too proud to say so. Including myself!!! So many girls try so hard to show up everyone, it gets stale. Its SO refreshing to see a woman willing to learn and take criticism, even if she doesnt need it. I have to tell you, Im so inspired by you, Im going to start my "put off" project soon. Thank you so much. You inspire a lot of us, even if we dont want to admit it. Oh and I have an 89 325i german spec that I would like some advice for.

    its a lot easier to use an engine stand when you're interchanging parts and removing stuff all you really need is like three bolts to secure the engine so it will be faster to remove back to hoist,keep up the good work.

    looking good there Selena!!! Sorta reminds me when I had my 85 Camro 2.8 V6. I got 225,000 miles out of it and it still did not burn oil, but the upper intake manifold gasket went on it. I bought a wrecked 85 z28 Iroc and took all the running gear out of it including the ECM and wiring. Had the perfect sleeper; this was back in 1999.

    Cool video Selena, thanks for keeping us updated on your project. Just seeing you change the oil filter makes me want to bless the engineers at BMW for where they put the filter on my engine. At least they got that right!
    E30 prices going up? Hell yeah, they sure are. Good ones of those are going to be as rare as rocking horse shit.
    On that note, E46 M3s are almost unprocurable on the open market here in New Zealand. I talked to one guy a few months ago and he had bought up 13 of them as an investment. Smart fella. As far as I can see there are a mere TWO hard tops advertised as available in my whole country and one of those is trashed anyway. If you'd bought one when the price bottomed out, you'd be laughing today. Good move on buying (and keeping) the E30 Selena.

    Hello , I am not a fan of modern Beemers , the Beemers I like were build when your father went to the Kindergarten. Said this I tell you that you are doing an awesome job with this engine swap. But you are not the first girl with mechanic skills I met.
    Now my question...
    You are swapping a Chevy V8 engine for a Beemer S6. The power increase is quiet noticeable.
    Now you find out that you need to modify the Oilpan , the new pan has less volume than the original.
    Less oil translates in worse cooling. So you have to adress this issue. (Don´t forget , you live in California)
    What is your plan?
    1-Bigger oilcooler than original?
    2-Swap to drysump lubrication with separate oilreservoir and second oilpump ?
    Greetings from Tenerife

    2003 E46 325 MSport Manual Facelift with 100,000 on the clock. Was thinking of some performance upgrades. Maybe a remap and a new exhaust system. What do you reckon? I'm from the UK so not sure what the price difference would be like compared to US. Good work on your videos btw. The content is very helpful and all the best for your car.

    • @Eratiik
      @Eratiik 7 років тому +1

      AA AA nice car. I have a 01' 330i. Six speed swap with a spring/shock combo and sway bars, super sprint&eisenmann Exhaust/headers combo, tune, sticky tires, just perfect for a daily. I'm looking to give my e46 somewhat of a facelift as the kidney grills on the facelifted models look great.

    • @akzislam20
      @akzislam20 7 років тому +1

      Eratiik thanks. Yours sounds very well done up. Must be fun to drive. Giving an 01'330i a facelift would be awesome. Selena's videos actually encouraged me to improve some performance features on mine after all the work she's going through with the new engine. Funny you mentioned the super sprint and eisenmann combo. I found a decent package to get the same one done on mine between £500-£1000 which is just in my budget. How did you find the drive after you had done yours?

    • @Eratiik
      @Eratiik 7 років тому +1

      AA AA yeah it's great to drive daily. Especially since my 330i came with basically no options. (No sunroof,sports package, etc.). When I put the six speed into it, the feeling was a night and day difference. The 330s have decent power when auto but with the manual trans it *feels* so much more powerful, responsive. Had to get the springs done around the same time tho as I knew I wanted it to sit flat when I drive it a bit harder or if I felt like darting through traffic. I went for a better handling option without ruining too much of the day to day comfortability so I knew I wouldn't need adjustable coilovers just spring/shocks and some great tires. The car was loud and had a great deep tone with the stock exhaust, my mate had the supersprint/eisenmann setup in his 330i. The videos he sent me made me hate them until I heard it in person. I fell in love. Cameras don't do the sound justice on these cars. It still has that deep tone to it, just with a bit more bass and rumble, somewhat louder which I like as I tend to row through the gears unnecessarily. It felt like it added a bit more response and power at times after the headers and exhaust, but that was probably me just being excited that my car sounded so good lol. Perfect for fun in the canyons too handles the corners like they're not even there, while still getting great feedback through the wheel. My next plan is to get a 01'-04' touring and set it up. I just can't get away from the smooth N/A delivery and feeling. It's soo good.

    • @akzislam20
      @akzislam20 7 років тому +1

      Eratiik thanks for the useful info. Its helped me make up my mind that i'll be going for that same exhaust system. Also found a decent remap package which can increase the BHP and Torque by a decent amount. That will help being that its only a 5 speed manual as appose to your 6 speed. It's unfortunate that most 330i's available on the UK market are mostly auto's or else I would have opted for the 330i instead. I'd like to also own a 5 Series Facelift E39 but to maintain and do up two cars at once can be quite expensive. Still won't stop me aspiring for it though! Lol

    • @Eratiik
      @Eratiik 7 років тому +1

      AA AA sorry for the late reply, didn't get a notification. Another great way to go is with the stock headers, they work just as well and it's a cheaper option, performance wise I'm not sure, but it still has a beautiful sound. But ya know even with the info I gave you don't be scared to go and scan the multiple BMW forums for advice. Mine was just from my experience but there are tons of well known BMW gurus on the forums that are more than willing to give advice on anything BMW. Good luck with whatever you do bro! 😁.
