Hi Rose, Investing in Real estate with your Roth IRA is a higher yielding investment than stocks and etf's. It requires knowing IRS rules but its a much better investment with Tax-free returns of 25% and higher. IRA/LLC with checkbook control to buy rental properties.... may not be for everyone but should be on your list.
Wife was absorbing some of this information while completing a writing assignment near my workstation. She remarked how Investing with Rose is understandable and easy to follow unlike many investing related webinars where the host will talk and talk, trying to show how smart they are and then present little content. My beautiful bride and I are in agreement. Rose, we LOVE your brain!
I've watched lots of investment videos for beginners on youtube and by far your channel is one of the best. Thanks for making these videos! Yours is my first subscribed channel:)
I love the content, there's a logical pattern to how you are investing. Wish we had UA-cam Videos like this 10-15 years ago so we could've had more time to grow. Thanks for the tips!
Thank you very much for this and all your educational content! After researching Roth IRA's all weekend, this video finally gave me the confidence to open up a Roth IRA with Fidelity. I downloaded the starter kit and can't wait to learn more. I'm turning 30 in a few months and I'm mad I didn't know about these sooner! I Feel like this should be taught in schools. I'm definitely going with the David Swensen recommendations. Also, I totally subscribed. :)
Thanks for the different approaches for Roth IRA. So I have had a Roth for about 1year and 3 months that consists of about 38 selected stocks that are growth and growth dividend. Based on this video I decided to create a new Roth this year and follow the David Swensen approach and compare them in another 1 year and 3 months and see which is doing better. Since I created it in M1 Finance I choose as follows: VTI 30%, VTIP 15%, VWO 10%, VXUS 10%, VNQI 5%, SPTI 15%, and PSR 15%. So my stock based Roth I will not contribute to just let it Drip and actively contribute to the new one maxing it out. Fun times😀
Hey Rose, just started investing in index fund using the David Swensen method, could you make a video on how to rebalance your account once year and readjust over time like you mentioned @5:52 in this video?
Hi, Rose. Two basic things I have not heard you mention for the beginner: how important to have your spouse/partner on the same page (saver+saver). Plus investing does not earn interest, like a CD. You are just trying to buy low and sell high. Thanks for all of your info. You do a good job of explaining it to the lay person. Kudos!
This was good information. I've been trying to figure out what to do with my 401K now that I am no longer with the company. I'm thinking Roth IRA is the way to go!
I just want to thank you for this amazing channel. I just discovered you today and I am learning so much, I’m so excited about investing. The information you share is very easy to digest and understand, this channel feels welcoming and not pretentious like a lot of other finance and investing channels. You are great at explaining things.
one correction...not all target date funds are target date "index" funds. you said a TD fund is a fund that has 3-4 index funds in it. some (like Vanguard or Fidelty) have an index fund composition, others are composed of actively managed funds. so it's important to find the ones that use index funds. otherwise, great content!
I listen to Rose even if I'm having a sh--ty day! I always feel empowered inspired and I DO NOT apologize for it! luv ya Roseeeee! read Remit's book, ready for the next one!
You are a life saver! I just started learning on financial literacy and working on improving my knowledge about money and investments. You make it so easy to understand.
I started stock trading few months ago and it took me the hard way to understand that entering and exiting a trade at the right moment requires patience. Although I’m yet to perfect my trades but I hope to take the right steps.
@Scott Riley I agree with you buddy, trading stocks gave me my first million, although it wasn’t all smooth I’ve had series’s of failed trades until recent years with financial advisor Dan Raziel at the helm of my trades, I’ve earned huge profits I never could imagine would be mine. And more than enough to cover for all the money I’ve lost trading as an amateur.
@@jackholley4286 Dan has been handling my trades for 3 years now, In my first 5 months I received a trade profit of $124,000 and he earned me that with an investment of $25,000. I had no doubt investing more and it paid more over the years in millions.
Thank you for the starter kit! I do have a few questions. Between the three options that you mentioned, am I only allowed to choose one option or can I do all three for my Roth IRA? Also, am I able to switch my strategies for a different year? So if I chose target date funds to start but in a few years I want to buy index funds would I be able to do that?
John is right. You don't have to wait to change investments in your Roth IRA and you won't create taxable income- unless you take the gains out of your Roth IRA.
Another great video that answered every question I had! Really clear and simple presentation of the information that gets past all the confusing jargon of investing.
Great videos. If I can make one comment. At around 11:16, you said owes versus owns. It took me a little while to grasp what you were actually saying because the first time I thought you just said owes twice.
very helpful video! your videos are really great and practical - probably the best on youtube for people getting hands on into investing for the first time! i'll thumbs up all your videos

I read his book and he does talk and really suggested TDF, but you really don’t have much control of your portfolio with a TDF. That’s why I stick with index funds so I can choose which ones are the best for me and a little bit of stocks if I have extra cash to invest.
Ok watched a dozen of your videos one after the other. Thank you, super helpful. I am super happy your videos came into my feed. Very direct and to the point. So many financial/investment videos tell stories and I wonder when they are getting to the content.
Thank you for this video and the free starter kit. I just recently decided to transfer my Roth IRA to etrade so I can manage it myself, in order to get away from the advisor fees. Your video was very informative and helpful. Thank you!
this is actually a very well executed video ..well, ok yes, minus the small audio issue, but you already took care of it :) This video explains VERY well about Roth IRA. Right to the point, easy to understand AND the free starter kit is such a great complement. This is well worth it. Thank you Rose.
Thank you so much for your practical and useful advice! Your expertise is much appreciated. Do you have any recommendations for Vanguard target date funds?
I just opened a Roth Ira with fidelity. Opened with 2k. Purchased FXAIX (500$ worth) and FZROX ($200 worth). Looking for recommendations for more options. ( love your channel)
If by passive you mean dividends, I could argue a Roth IRA is a great place to hold them. Take REITs that can have complicated taxation - it removes the nonqualified dividend component. Returns should be irrelevant where they come from measuring total return in a tax advantaged account.
I do really enjoy your videos. Have a great time with them as are very well done and easy to follow. Keep up your good work. Have a great week as well.
