I’m an African American woman and as I watch every video she makes me cry tears of joy. Her lovely singing touches my soul. While we are from different cultures, the love from her spirit touches my soul. My grandma has passed. But please say hello to your new, “Black Grand Daughter”!!
Oh, Layla! I love your sweet post! This sentiment is truly what life is all about! We really are the same, and I wish all could be touched by how alike humanity is instead of how different. God bless you.
I'm so happy to watch Grandma Gina can. My grandma used to, she passed away before I had a chance to learn fron her. So I am learning with this lovely grandma. Thank you for sharing her with all of us.
This video should be sent to the Smithsonion Institute for preserving such an important History. This is as good as it gets. What an incredible gift of Love for Nonna's children and her future generations. So that they should not forget their beautiful Italian Traditions. At a time in Nonna's life when most men and women her age are sitting drugged up in Nursing homes, she is showing the world that you can still be vital and joyful in your old age. What an incredible gift she has given both to her family and to the entire world. She is not only preserving tomatoes, she is preserving Tradition, she is preserving love, she is preserving joy! This is as good as it gets. I thank you from my heart to yours for such a kindness.
I agree!! She KNOWS what she's doing and as traditions get lost overtime....her videos need to be preserved!!! Because...I came across a remote region in Italy fighting to keep its traditions alive and it's essential we keep archives of these. The video I was referring to was about a small village that is in Italy, too close to Austria and Slovenia in terms of culture. Pitina is one thing I'd LOVE to try! Is it exportable? Had anyone heard of Friuli? Name of the region. Case in point.
Been patiently waiting all year for the tomato harvest and your expertise in canning them... I was NOT disappointed! Gina you’re an exquisite example of the perfect matriarch. Thank you to you and your wonderful family for generously allowing us to share in your lives. I pray God continue to bless you and them.
I am the new grandson. I LOVE HER. I am canning tomatoes at 20 and will do this with my brother for the rest of my life. My grandmother lived far away so I never got to do this with her. My mom often talked about canning for long term food preservation. I sometimes just come on to watch her even if I am not making anything. Thank you Gma!
We should all take example from this lady who shares her knowledge with everybody.....It is useless not passing what you have learnt in life to others who are younger!...then as Gina says..everybody can adjust according to own liking.....thank you dear Gina!
And bless those who aren't with us anymore. We lost my mil three days before Mother's Day 2021. Thankfully, it wasn't due to Covid. Her health became compromised after more than three years of becoming bedridden. I'm grateful she was able to see her two youngest granddaughters grow into amazing young women.
She looks so happy...you can tell she is been taken care by people that appreciate her and love her. Who ever is taking care of her, thank you. You are a good example.
I love her! She is so sweet and reminds me of growing up I would watch my nanita and nana (great grandma and grandma) make Mexican food for huge parties. We also had two stoves in the back of the house with storage.... I enjoy watching Gina. She is so sweet and full of culture.
Gramma Gina, I love your work station, everything you need for canning. I can see why you are in such great shape, your arms are toned and strong from all the work that you have done throughout your life. God blesses the hands that stay busy for doing good, idle hands He does not bless. Your hands will always be blessed because you put so much love in your work. I am inspired ! To Gramma Gina's family, you are one blessed family to have her, I know you all know that. Thank you for sharing. May God always bless you and your family!!
This sweet lady caused me to buy a bushel of tomatoes from our local farmer's market a few years ago... There's nothing more rewarding than reaching into the pantry and grabbing a jar and then cooking with the fruits of your labors (...that I bought from a farmer ;) I came back to hear her voice.
Hey, canning is laborious! Don't sell yourself short. Canning is most assuredly laborious too. And I say that as someone who does grow tomatoes at home in a garden. I haven't put up tomatoes in decades bc I prefer to blanch & freeze (tho you can't do that with tomatoes & seal the freshness), but I have canned albeit it's been a few decades. Canning is hard work in & of itself! Kudos to you.
I own my farm, and grow a huge garden of heirloom tomatoes. Thank You for shopping at the farmer's market and supporting us. I usually can 200 quarts of tomatoes a year...keep up the good work!
I have left Italy to move to the USA 30 years ago by myself. Watching this video brought back memories of my childhood in Torino Italy, when after school I was going to my grandparents house and was helping my grandma Gina (like you) canning tomatoes, making preserve, ravioli and all kind of food. There was something special about those moments that I had completely forgotten. Thank you for sharing this, and in memory of my grandma I will now follow your video and try to make sauce and put in the same love that you like my grandma put into anything that you do. Grazie nonna Gina.
I'm not Italian, but watching Mama Gina's videos brings me right back to times with my Grandma, learning how to make her specialties. And today, when I make those dishes and eat them, it's like Grandma is right here with me. There's an old saying, 'No one is ever really gone as long as someone remembers them.' Thank you, Gina, for helping me remember my Grandma.
I love you Gina!!! This is my favorite UA-cam show of all. You make cooking so much fun and what would appear to me to be a lot of work sometimes (like canning your tomatoes) shows how much love you have for cooking for your family. I am looking for all your recipes, and saving each one. You are a joy to watch. God Bless you You are an angel!!!
Cara Gina, this video warms my heart of the memories I had while canning 30 bushels of plum tomatoes I made for my family every year. I was so happy to see the electric machine you have. I was blessed when my husband bought one for me after so many years of hand-cranking the other one. I processed the tomatoes exactly the same way you do it in the video. Cara Gina, God Bless You every day. God Bless your spirit of happiness and God Bless your hands while you prepare every dish the "old fashioned" way. I wish I could share with you so many good memories you bring to me.
You are amazing nonna Gina! We make tomato sauce to, at least 10 bushels and it is a labour of love! You are a blessing to your family and a big joy to watch. I can feel how happy you are making the tomato’s! I just love you! You are wonderful and I wish the world was full of nonna’s and their unconditional love! They make the world a better place! I miss my nonna so much!
I remember when my Aunt Gina, my parents, and the entire family would be in our basement with bushels of tomatoes. We used a hand grinder and as the oldest nephew, I was 6 then, I was the grinder. It seemed like we were in the basement for days. We had sauce for the entire year, for the entire family. Most of the times when she cooked these recipes, she was with my mother Philomena, and my Aunt Marion. Miss those days, love you Aunt Gina
this is one of the most beautiful works that our Italian tradition has, it is a tiring job but that gives a lot of satisfaction when it is consumed, some think that all this effort is useless, but in reality it speaks because it has never tried the goodness of the sauce completely different from the one bought, last month I made 40 bottles, and I also check if the cap clicks, and if you click then it's not good :), thank you grandma for this important video for the new generations of everything the world that follows you.
Miss Gina, I absolutely love you!! I am a black woman from Louisiana, and I love Italian food. What better way to learn to cook it than from you. Thank you for all of your tips and thank you especially for the canning and the sauce videos! Much Love!!
I have tried a couple of her recipes. So good. I love the singing, I love her communication. I love her personality. I watched her video on canning tomatoes and plan on trying it.
She put all her heart in teach all what she knows to be clear for us, each step. In some you tube shorts young people does not want to share even 4 ingredients 🤣 silly people. Nona Gina , God bless you.❤
I love Mrs Gina she is such a sweet lady I love her voice and the way she is so humble and down to earth I wish I could meet her and spend a day cooking with her what a blessing it would be to learn from this sweet lady . God truly has blessed her family with her and has blessed me and all those whom has watched any of her videos . I bet she gives the best hugs may God bless you Mrs Gina for many many more years of love life laughter and good Italian cooking.
Her methods of canning is THE BEST. No one could compare to Jenna. I also have the machine. To removed seeds and skins. When making the sauce. . Love to be taught from this lovely Lady. God Bless You Jenna.
When I watch you my heart soars, you remind me of my sweet grandmother and down to earth cooking with hands and a lot of love. I watched this video a few times because I love your recipe. Only one I can find on the internet with natural ingredients and no preservatives. Thank you so much 🥰😍

OH, you dear lady. I planted those San Marzano tomatoes, too. Wish my harvest looked something like yours. Your recipes and accent take me back 65 years when I was listening to my grandmother. You bring me happy memories and big smiles. THANK YOU, GINA
I am Italian and I live in Brazil, thank you very much Gina for everything you teach me, and this brings me sweet memories of my great Italian family and how it was pleasant to cook with all my aunts and grandmothers, my mother, and everyone. I respect the Americans, but the Italians have a cheerful way to enjoy the moments when we are cooking. Graze Tante!
I absolutely love watching grandma Gina. She reminds me of my late mom. Even though I am Serbian, the love for cooking, family and heritage is relatable. You can see and feel grandma Gina’s love for food and her heritage. May GOD continue to bless her with health and your family. Thank you for sharing these moments with everyone!
Nona Gina, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your videos and more importantly, your spirit! Forty years ago another woman from Italy, Malvina, taught me how to make good Italian food - like you. Everything was home made! You remind me of my Malvina,
I am Scottish, Signora Gina and I could watch your videos all day. You are a National Treasure and a credit to Italian grandmas everywhere. Keep posting your videos and look after yourself. x
Grandma Gina you are melting my heart. I'm remembering summers as a child how I would watch my Mom can fruits and vegetables the same way you are doing in this video. She is now passed on. You bring me so much joy to see you teaching the new generation the craft of canning. ❤
Hello from Turkey🙆 we love you😚 my grandmother makes tomato sauce like you, she puts tomatoes into cold water after boiling them. Icy cold water makes tomatoes easy to peel. I always peel them for her :) this is my job as granddoughter.
I'm Indian and am presently living and working in the UK. I've worked in three Italian restaurants here and I hope to start a restaurant when I move back to India. I love making pizzas. Always wondered how peeled canned tomatoes were made as I love preparing home food from scratch. Thank you Grandma for teaching me the technique... Love your channel and how passionate you are about sharing your knowledge... You are leaving behind a legacy. Thanks also to your whole family for helping you to spread your knowledge in this technology driven age... :)
Thank you, Gina, for giving me my grandma back again. Grandma Felice was born in Cercemaggiore not too far from you. She passed away in 2000 at the age of 105. We had often tried to learn how she made our favourite dishes. Thank you for giving us quantities and the ability to see again how it is done. My daughter has made cavadill (Cercese). We are so glad we found you.
I don't know this women. I have never met her. BUT. I have a strong feeling that she is a women who is full of love, and she is a women whom I love. God bless.
Our family lives in California, in the 70's, 80's and 90's my Dad owned a trucking company and once a year in tomato season-summer I think?? He would have a huge truck bring up what seemed like to me at the time,(I was 8 years old to 30+ years old) 1000s of tomato flats to our home and with my Mom leading all of us kids wash, peel etc. etc make the canned tomatoes for the year and we would freeze them in plastic containers. My Mom wasn't a cook like Grandma Gina, but canning these tomatoes each year was her way of keeping her Mom and Aunts customs alive and I'm grateful. We had a huge freezer just for tomatoes and it never lasted the whole year. Thank Grandma Gina, I just found you today, watched your pizza video and that remind me of my Uncle Dutchy who was the pizza maker of the family. And now the tomato video. Thank you!!!!
Thank You. You are a wonderful grandma . I appreciate your dedication and love to the job you are doing . Congratulations. And for those who made fun of your English , please be polite and respectful . She is Italian , not from London . And it's very natural that her pronunciation and accent will be influenced by her mother tongue . She still has good vocabulary and put a nice effort to make us things right. Congratulations again Grandma !
I’ve watched this video for a few years this time of year, tomato harvest time. It is a great check on doing what I need to d to turn my 80 tomato plants into food that will feed my family for months. It also guides my tomato planting schedule. Thank you Gina, you have fed my family for a couple of years but will feed our family great food for decades.
What a fabulous production. Those tomatoes 🍅 are treated with such love. When cooling under blanket, I was sure I was to hear a bedtime song. You are so beautiful. What a blessed family you have. Love to all the grandchildren 🪗👏🪗👏🍅❤️🙏🏻🦒🕯💝 I adore your apron.
I remember my Nona canning I the basement in Detroit. She canned all kinds of vegetables. She was hero. I miss her and Papa and they were wonderful to grow up with. ❤️
Grandma Gina, where do you get your energy? I’m 10 years younger than you and I’m exhausted just watching your video! Must be your happy disposition, love of God and family that keeps you so young!
Wow.....you look so joyful Gina...you are going to heaven with your shoes on ...God bless you...I was in a deep depression for a long time...started watching you and I got up and started cooking again...thank you...if you helped one person in your life...well I may be it...merci
She is such a perfectionist and her son in law behind the video does a great job. To the point and no waste of time. Very professional. You should have a TV show on the food network. I have watch almost every video with Gina
This family will be cruising thru covid food shortage...we will all need to be learning how to can and store food here very soon. It’s amazing that we have beautiful examples like this lovely lady to learn how to can essential food items.
I used your technique to make my own pizza or pasta sauce. Thank you so much. You are know my Italian nonna.😘👍Nonna. Especially love that you pray before you create. I am praying for you today in church. May God bless you with long life and health. ❤🙏
OMG, I cant believe how thorough this lady is, especially her age and how busy she keeps. I always wanted canning videos, and she has done it for me step by step with detailed description & hints, like what could make the jar break. AMAZING, if she was close to me I'd come over & give her a hug. AWESOME LADY
I just want to let you know Grandma Gina that I am so happy that I came across your channel I want to say thank you and God bless ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ you're my favorite channel now
Gina you must have a large house. You have a really nice kitchen upstairs. I've never known anyone that had such a great set up for canning in their basement. Two stoves, big tables, a sink, and lots of shelves. Great set up. I also have never seen anyone cover the hot jars with a blanket to slow the cooling. New one for me. I love your videos. Thank you
So it looks like you have a canning setup in the basement, with a stove and all! That is so terrific.I am going to try to learn how to do this! Thanks as always. You are such a good teacher!
What a treasure she is! My wife and I smile ear to ear the whole time we watch her videos. I will be doing this today with san marzanos and basil from our garden.
Gina cans just like my mother did over 60 yrs ago, except my mother's jars had glass lids, the same jars her mother used in the early 1900s. Great memories! Gina is from the same area of Italy as my grandmother, she cooks and bakes very much like my family did and I try.
I'm of Scots-English background and I absolutely adore Nonna Gina. She's like the BEST of all Nanas rolled into one. Come on . . . I just spent twenty-one minutes watching a person peel and boil tomatoes, enraptured and with a huge smile the entire time. Now I want a hug from her . . . and some sauce.
I can watch this video all day every day. We came here from Naples Italy many years ago and watching you reminds me watching my mom gather all 6 of us to help her with this amazing and beautiful process. Thank you.
Y'all are SO fortunate to have such a cool, funny, sweet Gramma. 🤗 I'm hooked on her videos and my wife and I use her recipes and processes for canning sauce and whole tomatoes! GINA! WE LOVE YOU! 😁🤗
Looking at all those GORGEOUS, ripe, red tomatoes spread out one the table is spiritually! Praise the Lord for this lovely woman and sharing her SKILLS with all of us!
My three year-old loves your videos, but this is her favorite. She calls you "the grandma who makes the tomatoes". Thank you for sharing your expertise!
I love watching you. You remind me of my grandma 👵. I’m Mexican so my abuela loved to make everything out of scratch. Nothing was bought from a can at a store and if she new you would buy it she would get upset 😂. Miss my abuela. Thanks for all the beautiful recipes. Qué viva Italia 🇮🇹
I don't boil mine after jarring. I cook them and spoon into jars while the tomatoes are still at boiling temperature. Then I put the lid on and put them quickly into a storage box and cover with a thick wool blanket. But you have to work fast so that the mixture stays at boiling temperature. After several hours, you will start to hear a click from each jar in the box meaning a good seal has been made. I have never had a jar explode using this method and my jars stay fresh and last for two, three years.
Signora Gina you bring back so many fond memories of my childhood when my parents, many zia and zios and all us cousins would gather to “do jars”. The smell of burning wood to light the fire that would boil the pots of water in the garage. The children helped, played and got in the way. The men drank homemade vino while discussing the cost of uva for the new wine. And the women worked. Hard. Mamma would slip away for a bit to the kitchen to make lunch. Fresh homemade pizza, salumi and formaggio. What a treat for me to revisit these sweet and cherished memories through your videos. Grazie. Grazie. Grazie nonna Gina. 👌😘🇮🇹🇨🇦
Nonna Gina-This is a tradition in my family. In the first week of September, 6 of us can tomatoes. We use 20-30 bushels. It's messy, hard and so much fun. We do it in the garage with propane burners, the neighbors all come to check out the wonderful smell. Tanti Baci!
This is amazing. I avoid using commercially canned food but for few things, I go for canned tomatoes. Now I know how to do it at home without chemical preservatives and I don’t need to buy peeled canned tomatoes. Thanks grandma! 🤗
Nonna Gina deserves to surpass into the millions of subscribers..she is the best of the best❤️🍎🇲🇽❤️🍎🇲🇽❤️🍎🇲🇽❤️🍎🇲🇽❤️🍎🇲🇽❤️🍎🇲🇽❤️
❤🙏🏽👏👏👏👏
I’m an African American woman and as I watch every video she makes me cry tears of joy. Her lovely singing touches my soul. While we are from different cultures, the love from her spirit touches my soul. My grandma has passed. But please say hello to your new, “Black Grand Daughter”!!
Thanks miss Jena I got making tomato sauce you have a great day
Love this! Same with me - I am Filipino but I feel like you are my grandma! What a special lady!
So beautiful....we are all a beautiful human family, from country to country.
You could have just said "grand daughter" without adding the "black" - not necessary.
There's something comforting about having parents or grandparents who take the time to teach ways of thrift and home economics.
So very true! 🍅💚🍅💚🍅
Absolutely ❤️
Yes, also nothing is better than home made.
Absolutely

How can anyone dislike Gina's videos??...those people probably eat at Olive Garden and think that's Italian food...lol
I’m in Oz and l love her videos.
Too much work for them... "My" Grandma Gina puts them to shame! They prefer their Grandma's Prego sauce

Right? Lol

Keep posting your videos and look after yourself. x
with all that awesome food ... the healthy eating is not a problem ;)
Grandma Gina you are melting my heart. I'm remembering summers as a child how I would watch my Mom can fruits and vegetables the same way you are doing in this video. She is now passed on. You bring me so much joy to see you teaching the new generation the craft of canning. ❤
I Love this gramma she is happy and talkative!!!
Hello from Turkey🙆 we love you😚 my grandmother makes tomato sauce like you, she puts tomatoes into cold water after boiling them. Icy cold water makes tomatoes easy to peel. I always peel them for her :) this is my job as granddoughter.
So sweet! I really like the Family Credits at the end. Gina & her husband raised their family beautifully. Family is everything.
MISS GINA, YOUR FAMILY IS SO LUCKY TO HAVE YOU IN THEIR LIFE. SINGING MAMA MAKES ME CRY LOVE YOUR SINGING, COOKING (TAUGHT ME A LOT) AND LOVE YOU TOO.
What a lovely comment from a fellow viewer. Best of wishes to you.
God bless.
Me too
"when they no say nothing, they good." I love her! Wonderful work! Thanks for sharing! ♥
I wish I had a grandma to give me such generational wealth. So wonderful! Thank you for sharing this blessing of knowledge...
I'm now going to call my colander the 'Thing That Droppa The Water'. Its the perfect description! I love this Noni!
lmao
Isn't that cute?
She is amazing. It is just like being there for a private class. Give her a hug for me. 🥰

I remember my Nona canning I the basement in Detroit. She canned all kinds of vegetables. She was hero. I miss her and Papa and they were wonderful to grow up with. ❤️

I'd be first in line for "Gina's Italian Market" if we were ever blessed with a store full of her goods ❤️
These shows are so much better than any professional ones on cable, this show is just good food the way it should be done, viva Gina !
She is such a perfectionist and her son in law behind the video does a great job. To the point and no waste of time. Very professional. You should have a TV show on the food network. I have watch almost every video with Gina
Love her 🤗🙏🙏 already learning so much from her. She makes me happy. God Bless Her❤️❤️❤️
This family will be cruising thru covid food shortage...we will all need to be learning how to can and store food here very soon.
I just want to let you know Grandma Gina that I am so happy that I came across your channel I want to say thank you and God bless ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ you're my favorite channel now
Dear Gina, thank you for sharing your recipes, experience, enthusiasm and love.
I can see and hear the excitement in her when she tells about the finished product. I love her videos. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
So surrounded with love ,adoration and respect a lovely loving family.
..My salutes from India.
So sweet mama.. wish you long life.. love you. ❤❤❤
Mama mia Gina that's alot of tomatoes! Homade sauce made from garden tomatoes is tastebud heaven. Your knowledge of farm to table is a treasure.

This is a lot of hard work but so worth it!! Thank You for sharing your recipes & your knowledge with us, Gina :-)
I can watch this video all day every day. We came here from Naples Italy many years ago and watching you reminds me watching my mom gather all 6 of us to help her with this amazing and beautiful process. Thank you.
Y'all are SO fortunate to have such a cool, funny, sweet Gramma. 🤗
I'm hooked on her videos and my wife and I use her recipes and processes for canning sauce and whole tomatoes!

Looking at all those GORGEOUS, ripe, red tomatoes spread out one the table is spiritually! Praise the Lord for this lovely woman and sharing her SKILLS with all of us!
She really takes great care with everything she does.
Mary Marth she does, you can really tell she enjoys doing what she does.
My three year-old loves your videos, but this is her favorite. She calls you "the grandma who makes the tomatoes". Thank you for sharing your expertise!
Please give her a big hug from the grandma who makes the tomatoes:) God Bless!
Tanti Baci!
I love Italian Grandma!!! It makes me so happy to watch her videos. I wanna be like her when I grow up
Absolutely love her, reminds me of my great grandmother. Information in these videos are priceless, thank you for posting.

This is amazing. I avoid using commercially canned food but for few things, I go for canned tomatoes. Now I know how to do it at home without chemical preservatives and I don’t need to buy peeled canned tomatoes. Thanks grandma! 🤗
