How many times have we all changed something only comeback full circle. Different guitars, different tones, Its all good, like different colors to paint with. 🙂
Hi, first time checking out one of your videos, I have to say that your Strat does sound great, I've had one of those American Special Strats and tinkered with it, but had he sell it a few yrs back, I've since moved on, Anyways, nice playing, big like and a new sub👍🎸🎶
Stringy with snap and pop. Chimey clarity and brilliance. Notes and chords hang really well. Musical and different is good... sounds great on this end, Rich. 👍
@@richhwang4230- Just goes to show how critical the basic stuff like pots, caps and wiring can be. I expect it will sit really well in a reasonable mix, while having plenty of space to move around in. Trial by fire tonight 🤔? lol...
@@richhwang4230- I did wonder about the mids with the whole EJ voicing thing, in a band situation. Sounds great out front either way I'm thinking. Guessing you have something there to kick on to push the mids a bit if need be. It playing incredibly well definitely helps overcome any issues. Does dialing back the tone a hair help at all? If all else fails there's always more volume, lol...
yes rolling the tone back definitely helps a bunch on the bridge pickup, especially on dirty sounds. A tube screamer adds plenty of midrange, about as much as I could ever imagine needing, and I almost always have one on the board.
Right on, I think you've discovered its purpose now, and that should help to open up the doors of perception for you to determine what its usefulness to you will be going forward. Hey, as long as you can keep it in tune, it's a winner in my book, lol! 😂
It was a favorite for certain venues for awhile, then I started to have problems with it that in the end turned out to be a faulty volume pot. It started sounding just a little bit dull, I played it and actually got used to it, then the pot malfunctioned badly and it sat. Once I fixed it, the feel/sound changed quite a bit and I brought it to entirely the wrong venues to test and base my opinions on. The inevitable comparisons were the worst part. It’s a mind game and I need to get past it. Hopefully playing it live for 3 hours tonight will get rid of all my half-baked notions 😅
Awesome playing and sound, love the vibe tones.
Thank you so much!

@@toddnearyyep! I’m on a gig with it now. It does lack the mids I’m used to but the difference is fun. It plays incredibly well and sets up great.
