Unova will always hold a special place in my heart. I know this is a VERY unpopular opinion but I think Gen 5 was the best. It had an amazing story! And all around great battles and world building! It was the first Pokémon game I ever played. So it might just be nostalgia talking. But I loved gen 5. I remember battling Iris and coming down to just my trusty Emboar and her final Pokémon. I’m not sure what it was. I use head smash (I think. I was 4 when this happened so I’m not sure) and I kid you not, I got a CRITICAL HIT AND BARELY WON THE BATTLE. Call me stupid but that has to be the best champion battle I’ve ever fought. It may have been because I was 4 years old but it was pretty tough!
Im also love Unova, and I also think the Irirs Battle is the best for a Pokemon Champion, Im remember battle with my Shiny Chatot (the first Shiny I ever got) :,)
Wow, this is so similar to my own experience. My first time ever fighting her, it came down to hydreigon against my Samurott. As a last ditch attack, I used hydro pump. I, with one pokemon who happened to be at 1 hp from draco meteor, just barely beat her. Later, when I had a team of level 100's, I fought her again after almost sweeping the elite four(they always give me trouble somehow) and I, after a full 5 pokemon(i refused to heal in battle to give a challenge), found myself in the EXACT same situation. I swear to this day that the people in Unova are real.
Thats not an unpopular opinion at all. Gen 5 did have one of the best stories of all the games. The only gripe people had was the regional dex for unova being kinda small. If only they could see the state of pokemon today 😭
Such a shame the original got deleted. I remember it coming really close to 1 million views last I saw it. Would've been quite an achievement, since I always found this remix superior to Glitch's.
I can’t believe I found this remix again, I thought it was gone forever when it got deleted but I had a random feeling to search for it again and I found it and I couldn’t be happier. I remember listening to this while doing homework or whatever middle schoolers did to waste time in class, now that I’m graduating in a week it feels really cool to be hearing this song again! Nearly a whole decade later... and this is STILL the best remix I've heard made of this song. It took the original beats/melodies of the original and evolved them in ways that I've not seen done since. I absolutely love how it simultaneously sounds like a final battle theme, a credits theme, and an energetic intro theme all in one! It's such a shame the original upload was taken down. I remember this song use to be popping on the dude's channel back when it was still up. You're doing God's work by keeping this amazing cover alive, my guy! 👍

God I love this remix so much. I was disheartened when I couldn't find it on youtube anymore. I still had a copy of it on my computer so I could still listen to it but it's great to see it up on youtube again.
I stopped playing at Gen 2. To my, Pokemon Crystal 2 is the true final game to the series. And that's technically the truth, they only ever planned the first two games. Everything else came after Nintendo saw the success of Pokemon. I never got an Advance, never got Ruby or Sapphire. Saw most of the new changes as gimmicks, saw most of the things they took away as validation in my choice to stop playing. I still feel that way. I feel like I enjoyed peak Pokemon and "cashed out my chips" before the game series quality dropped. My memories of playing Pokemon are cherished. Still though, it's nice to wonder sometimes, what it'd be like to have played any of the other games. Glad to see new people continue to enjoy Pocket Monsters.
I remember there being a PWT finals remix playing and the video had the dude against Blue in a triple battle, all I remember from that video was that he had an Infernape and he won.

I'm from the old school, but I must say Gen V gave us the best core-game plot ever made.
