The Buttercream Gang was a common movie we watched at my Grandpas house. We (my cousins & I) loved that movie when we were kids. Thanks for this trip down memory lane ☺️

Yes I was going to say kick the can!
I’m pretty sure the jump rope thing was a variation on ring around the posies too.
Yes definitely kick the can!
I had this movie as a kid and get ready. There is a second one. They made a sequel and I had that one too. It’s just as bad if not worse
NO! LMAO!!! OMG, Jamie HAS to react to that one too!!!
@@VampyreBarbie fo real
it's worse
It's worse. The first one wasn't bad for it's time. The second one not so much.
@Jaime PLEASE spoil us w/ a part two of the sequel 😂❤ 😂❤
You should TOTALLY watch Cold as Ice “staring” Vanilla Ice.
I. Would. Die 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The baseball scene with the sad cheering literally made me spit my coffee on the counter. I NEED to watch this lmao
I'm starting to think that I might have a problem
because I can't seem to be able to stop watching these videos.
I love how Jaime pauses and just like, stares in shock, every time the storm gets loud. I love it.
Also, her eye makeup is SO PRETTY!!
At this point I will watch anything you produce; even when the topic doesn't sound like it will interest me, I know I'll laugh hard and loud and often! You're frickin awesome, you've been a source of much needed belly laughs for me lately
Thank you so much 😭
Poor widow Jenkins needs medical help, not children lmao
😂😂😂fr
Please make “Treat Thief” merch 😄
Omg 🙌🏻
With a picture of Pete in his bandana. 🤣
Make “treat thief” tshirts or bandanas for dogs and I’ll totally get one for my shih-tzu. She’s a treat thief. Lol
@@HealingWithLove mine too! I would totally get her a treat thief bandana.
Yes that would be amazing!
As a kid in a strict pentecostal household this movie was my favorite for most of my childhood
Man, it's hard finding someone else who's family is pentecostal lol hi army
@@kai0tfoool It really is, I was always surrounded by pentecostals while I was growing up and everyone in my family was pentecostal but everytime I mentioned it in the secular world people always had no idea what it was. Honestly I was one of the few people in my family that went to public school and a lot of kids just straight up didn't believe me when I talked about some of the restrictions lol but now I'm a gay kpop stan so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I was raised pentecostal. I did not like it.
@@FakeJerseyGurl bitch same
Okay 1. U mentioned Bailey and drew. Absolute icons. 2. Feature family films (like the buttercream gang, rigoletto, etc) were a staple of my childhood. This is bringing things back omg.
Oh em gee, you should do 90s movies, like the Babysitter’s Club, the Barbie at Disney World movie, and It Takes Two!
It Takes Two oh my gosh I forgot about that movie. 8 year old me had a huge crush on Stephen Guttenberg....
I just commented the Babysitters club too!! My daughter watched that thing a million times!!! I'll never forget " Jimmy Tony's not here!!!!!!
...... Spice World
The girls I used to babysit watched Life Size all of the time. It's a Disney channel movie with Lindsey Lohan and Tyra Banks.
@@rmaddendesign BEST MOVIE EVER. Just kidding, but I do love it. My (now 29 year old) daughter was like, 8, and heavily into the Spice Girls so I have seen it about 100 times. And my daughter still loves the Spice Girls. Her ringtone for me is "Mama" which makes me cry when she plays it for me.
When you said "so they go to the TREAT store" I spit my cereal out of my mouth! 🤣🤣🤣
As a kid who grew up in 90’s (I was probably around this age of a little older) when this came out in the Midwest and treats was a real word and we made up games like they did with the ball, and people are really often that nice... funny movie... made me laugh... in my small town in the Midwest this was somewhat probable. 😂😂😂 I know... I know...
Sounds nice
Same here!
I am 39 years old, and this was literally my favorite movie at age 9 or 10. I haven’t seen it as an adult, so I am having a blast rediscovering it with an adult brain! 💛🤦🏻♀️💛🤦🏻♀️💛🤦🏻♀️
"Child version of Joe Dirt."
I'm dying 😭
Omg I owned this movie as a kid cause my mom signed us up for some Christian movie thing. Oh man it was "special"
Same! “ Feature Films for Families”
Same! Did you guys watch Girl of the Limberlost too??
Edit:
Omg or Split Infinity 😂😂 That girls style was amazing 😂
Yes, I just left a comment about Feature Films for Families. I'm glad other people know what that is 🤣
same😂
Hannahbella omg! Yes! Split Infinity, Rigaletto, On our Own, Girl of the Limberlost!
This was SOOOO good, Jaime!!! If you do this again, you should do Meatballs 2. I haven't seen it in a long time, but I remember it was really really bad.... I just remember it was at a summer camp and there was boxing and an alien that was kind of like ET...
Why did I think of Mac & Me lol
I second this
Meatballs🥺
yes please
If u found her by accident or u came here via the fb train...... u have found a bestie. Jaime I'm a huge fan of ur work for years. I watch over ur videos when I'm down cause u have such a 'pick me up' attitude. Keep up the great work! Ur ads are amazing! Ur cool asf lol! Much love from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹
I want a “Treat Thief” tee.
omg
“The widow French” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’ve been rewatching every makeup and movies Monday . It’s so nice to watch something and never get bored with it. Thank you for the content!!! You’re an amazing human !
Omg memories flooding back...so any time in our elementary school there was a case of bullying or like spurt of outbursts from students towards eachother the teachers would put this on and make us all so together and watch this. Wholesome for real.
I love these videos so much! My ADHD means I suck at watching movies. So I get to basically watch a movie but with the commentary that makes it worth it.
Same
.."ya know, typical.. gang related activity..." 😂🤣😂🤣🖤
If I was a widow I’d like my butter churned too. Oh wait. Did I type that out loud? 😆
I’m glad my mind wasn’t the only one who went there.
annexkatherine same. I though Jaime was gonna comment but she kept it clean 😂
Seriously 😅 has anyone in these comments seen the way butter is churned?!
After watching this for the 87th time. I feel like "The Widow French" should be a skit character with Tammy and Trish lol
I didn’t know anyone else saw this movie 😂 this was an uncomfortably significant part of my childhood
7:14 I dunno...’Widow French’ kinda slaps
Never stop making videos like this!!
Some suggestions:
Girls just wanna have fun
Valley Girl
The peanut butter solution
Yaaaas! And don't forget "Teen Witch" with Robin Lively & Zelda. The small psychic lady from "Poltergeist"!
@@jennaevelockwood3047 best movie everrr lol
The Buttercream Gang was a common movie we watched at my Grandpas house. We (my cousins & I) loved that movie when we were kids. Thanks for this trip down memory lane ☺️
“The face he’s making when he’s surprising his friend.... 🥴🤪”
Lmao
Why do all actors in 90s movies, even if they're supposed to be young/teen age, look 35 lol
Bc they were
Beverly Hills 90210 effect
The buttercream gang all look like middle aged dads.
Because the fashion was different. Kids dressed like little adults
Because the actors were 35
When I was a kid we only owned two movies on VHS. The buttercream gang and Two Bits & Pepper. I was pretty sure I made both of them up in my mind up until this point.
I'm two months post partum and I have been struggling with PPD and you have helped so much, I love watching your videos! thank you!
Little Joe Dirt 🤣🤣🤣 You deserve a treat for this movie break down.
The weird ball game was kick the can! Fun fact: doesn’t actually have to be a can that’s kicked.
I was waiting for someone to say something! ♡ I used to play this all the time
I never played it before, but I've seen it on an 9od movie or something. I noticed it looked like a can rather than a ball in this scene.
I just commented this! We always used a coffee can.
This was 1 of 3 movies my grandma would let me watch at her house when I was a kid. Oh my word, such an absolute blast from the past.
What were the other two?
Omg I'm happy to have found the origin of you reviewing movies, and even happier to see what a difference it's made for you to move away from the makeup part and make content according to what you truly want to create! Getting into your channel a few years ago was the best thing to come out of my phase of being into beautytube, seriously. You're a great human, and brilliant and hilariously funny and absolutely adorable, and I'm so happy that you've worked toward honoring your own needs and desires more and more over time. You deserve to get to do just things you truly want to do!
Omg thank you so much 🥹 and thank you for being here with me for so long! It means the world to me
@@jaimefrenchofficial Aww I'm so glad you saw my comment and that it reached you meaningfully! You're worthy of ALL the praise and encouragement I and others can give! You really are a force for goodness and you deserve goodness in return. Much love to you! 💚💙💜
Oh for crying out loud! You must call a meeting to order when you’re discussing another member. Clearly you’ve never been a Buttercreamer.
But seriously...if the original gang members got their name from churning the widows’ butter-which sounds like a euphemism for something else (“yeah, I churned her butter alright...and then she gave me a treat!”)-why weren’t they the butter CHURN gang?
LOLLLLL churned her butter omg I'm deceased
I totally thought euphemism too but felt too lost in the butter and cream and butt cream and churn and just BARF
kate carew so much barf.
Hahha!! Yes it sounds like it could be remade into a porno.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
OMG! The buttercream gang was my jam growing up in my sheltered, Christian home! 🥳😂
💯 SAME!!!
"...throwin' Pringles and kicking dirt and stuff" got me real good.
I'm binging Makeup & Movies at work today while wearing headphones and the thunderstorm in this video is SO GREAT. I feel so nice and winter-cosy even though its like the middle of summer in New Zealand
Child Jo Dirt 😂. I loved this. I’ve never seen it.
Jamie, I LOVED this video! My little boy who's 9, walked in while I was watching it and REALLY loved it and now asked me if he could watch this movie. LOL!
Heres a couple of movie suggestions:
- The Little Rascals
- E.T
- Batteries Not Included
- Freaky Friday
- Daylight
Random. I don't know why these came to my head.
Oh and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. So bad its great.
Yes!!! Batteries Not Included 🥰🥰🥰
Yes!! Girls just wanna have fun.
The little rascals would be hilarious to see her review 😂😂😂
I am once again back to the beginning of your fantastic movie reviews. I really love how eclectic your channel is and how it has evolved over time. You are so multi talented and I love watching and listening to you! I am here for all your content no matter what you decide to bring to the channel
I can't even begin to tell y'all how many times I catch myself singing "YOU GOT THE RIGHT ONE BAYBAY UH HUH" in my head and out loud. When I'm driving, when cleaning, when I'm showering. I cannot get this out of my head 😂. My mom was like sarah what are you talking about...haha
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Have you seen “Cool as Ice,” the vanilla ice movie? Gold.
I used to watch this movie on the weekends when I went to my father’s house (my step mother got this movie because it was okay to watch as a Christian household). I had a crush on one of the kids.... haha. Tried looking for this movie a couple of months ago to show my kids. Can’t wait to watch your video!!!! 💕💕.
“A girl????”
“I’d let a lying, cheating, treat thieving, Pringle kicking, bandanna wearing, dance ruining, kid pushing, commercial reciting lunatic join the Butter Cream Gang. But NOT a girl!!!!”
Loved that, “not Widowed French”. Always enjoying your humor. 😊
I remember watching this in 4th grade. It was shown as a reward for the kids who met some type of behavior goal. I remember everyone making perverted jokes about butter cream. Also, we were in a rural town and I pretty much assumed gangs worked like this movie showed. Lol
When you said "Scott's dad," I thought you said, "Scott's dead" and I was like, holy shit this movie took a turn! 🤣💀
10 minutes after watching this I got in my car and the first song I heard was Black Pink's Ice Cream, where there singing about "you deserve a treat". I'm never not going to think of you when I hear that word now.
I'm a baker and one of my favorite words literally is "buttercream." Also a 90's kid but never heard of this movie, and them calling themselves buttercreamers cracks me the fuck up. 😆
