  • This is a beautiful, short and gentle sequence that will connect you with your breath and release the neck, shoulders and upper back. It will lengthen out your upper body and bring breath and circulation into those areas of the body that begin to tighten up during pregnancy. Great to do if you are in need of relaxation and time out for yourself.
It is suitable for all trimesters and all levels of practitioners. Always check with your doctor or prenatal care provider before beginning any exercise program.
    Level: All trimesters
Props: Strap and cushions or bolster (to elevate hips if needed)
Produced by Paula Lay & Mischa Baka

Thank you for this video! I am 14 weeks pregnant & have had a very tight neck & shoulders the last several weeks. I work as a dental hygienist, which can be very taxing on the upper body as well & am always looking for upper body stretching/ strengthening. I will be sharing this with my other dental colleagues! THANK YOU.

Wonderful. Thank you so much. REALLY needed this after a long work day writing. I've just discovered your videos and having grown up in Aus I SO appreciate your soothing lovely homely accent and the Aussie birds in the background. I'm 17 weeks and only just getting back into yoga after a break to feel rough as old boots during the first trimester and your videos are such a wonderful resource. I'll definitely be donating x

I'm not pregnant, but I do have scoliosis and workout a lot, so I have a lot of upper back pain along with shoulder and neck tension. I loved this practice! It was gentle enough for me and I feel like I will be doing this every night before bed.
Also, I love your voice (very calming) and the pace of this practice is just perfect! So many times I feel that yoga practices will either be too fast for me to feel the pose, or too slow and I lose interest (patience is a work in progress for me haha).
Anyways, sorry this is lengthy, but I just wanted to really thank you for all that you're doing with this yoga channel. Much MUCH appreciated! Have a wonderful day :) You definitely got me as a new subscriber!

Good video but really dont like that you use right and left all the time and it doesnt take into account that viewers are looking at you so will be the opposite side

Sorry if that gets a bit confusing! You would probably get used to the sequence after awhile and it wouldn't matter so much. :)

Hi everyone! I am conducting for my midwifery Master’s thesis a study on prenatal yoga and low back/pelvic pain, I need your help! 🙏 If you are pregnant, living in the United States, experiencing pain or discomfort in your low back and/or pelvic girdle and doing yoga, please take a moment to fill out my survey after your prenatal yoga class. It is anonymous and takes 5-10 minutes to complete, just click www.prenatalyogastudy.com to access the survey or to know more about the study. THANK YOU 🙏
