You've hit on something I just can't really get over when it comes to bow/piercing builds. Flat piercing resist (not even just non-magical) is so goddamn common on the more annoying enemies. It really made me value force damage even more. I know there's the bhaalist armor and other shit, but it's still pretty annoying
YUP. Force Damage is my best friend. ITS RED and its COOL and its PRACTICAL and its COOL and yeah Pierce Resist is too common on Tact / Honor. Amazing how strong it is with that being the case. Bhaalist is under the category of "Yes its good, but not everyone plays Durge, Murderer, or wants to wait until the end game to use a build"
@@gar-sen My main problem with Bhaalist is that builds that needs Act3 items to work feel horrible to play. That´s why I like simpler builds like open hand monk or MM with Reverb, you don't need specific items to make them useful or you can get the main items in act 1.
@@rever6612 I agree and just to for fun I would say the SOOPER COOL ACT 3 gear is fun too because its a far off goal to get to and make work well until a huge oay off power spike for the last couple of cool battles. Its helped me to do both on a team. Good, simple, early game stuff that steadily evolves and 1 or 2 on the team that need a little time to evolve into absolute monsters.
I'm thinking of running a 4 Fighter Champion, 4 Rogue Thief, 4 Warlock The Great Old One where with Spell Sniper you have Eldritch Blast possibly criting on 18-20 as a base and then 2 hand crossbow shots for 19-20 all of which can proc an AoE Fear which when used with Hex can make it likely to happen plus it being a great damage rider. I've done 6 Fighter Champion, 4 Rogue Thief, 1 Warlock The Great Old One and 1 Cleric Tempest with a half orc melee version of the build and got to Act 3 Honor Mode before putting that run on hold due to an incoming update.
For the first one, if you didn't know, Ne'er Misser in the main hand will give your Sneak Attacks Force damage. Otherwise, if you use it on the Offhand, your Actions and B.Actions can all do Force damage, which is awesome! Can def see some good crits after you add gear in! 4/4/4 splits are cool! What was the idea or goal with the second one? Im interested!
@@gar-sen Second build was just melee crit build variant with the possibility of aoe fear (didn't have much in Charisma or a Spell stat). Half Orc having Savage Attacks and then 4 melee attacks each round with a damage rider like Hex or using Tempest Fog Cloud with gear to get advantage while obscured and whatnot trying to get those crits more. Also having 1 in Cleric gives you guidance which, running with Shadowheart can mean also getting Enhance Skill. Tempest also has the retaliate when hit thing as well for a bit more damage.
OHHHHHHH Even crazier. I honestly don't have enough of that in my utility belt when playing. Good tips/tricks right there! Thanks for the reminder. I might add it to a personal list of "rules this run"
I think TB Shadowmonk thrower might be good (half-elf/human for pike profiency), shadow monk gets darkness as a spell to cast with ki points and a bonus action hide. Basically not wasting time with a rogue warlock multicast for poking.
thief 3 bard rest, band of mystic scoundrel + helm of arcane acuity, 2 slashing attacks and 1 offhand (5 hits) = 10 arcane acuity, than cast any cc like hypnotic or hold person/monster, is this a strong cc and damage build? to overload, callous glow ring+luiminous hands and armour. early game: offhand shots for arcan acuity (2 hits, 4 stacks offhand) and action cast or just normla attack for 4 hits (8 stacks) and cast CC spell in 2nd turn
Excellent. Mystic + Hold is always good, but don't forget someone could always just dedicate their action to holding and letting Shooty McShoot just get another, more powerful hit in. If you are trying to primarily caster and using the 2 Bonus Attacks to get 4 Spell DC, then add Reverb or Mental Fatigue not Radiant orbs. Reverb for Dex Throw spells with Thunder damage on Drake throat Buff to the weapon(s). Mental Fatigue with Psychic damage like Concentration ring for little extra attack and spells that target WIS (Hold Person) or even CHA (Banish). Overload isn't worth it if you're just going for Shooty McShoots a lot. Its usually not worth it in general if you're not already getting a lot of Psychic damage and using the Resonant Stone and then theres the Action or Bonus action wasted for a turn.

@ Damn that sounds fun. You should pick it back up or redo it with the Patch!
Hand bows are my absolute fave but I never took sharpshooter. I think of them as utility like bonus action shoot a potion/elixir or water bottle.

In that case, be sure to grab the Eversight ring to get blind immunity!
thank you for showing, you cna target the ground with scorchjing ray, that explaikns some misses . . T.T
I miss ALL THE TIME because I'm mister twitchy fingers. Hope that makes it feel better. lol
