i think the main reason that you're growing so quickly is because you are well spoken and detailed in your nuzlocks. it seems typelocking / hardcore nuzlocke is trending as a hobby for pokemon fans right now and you are 1000% the best content creator in that field. you have good descriptions, editing, pacing, etc. keep it up!
I love consuming this type of content and, on top of what you mentioned already, what I like the most about Flygon HG is that: 1) he makes actual hard challenges for the most part that are interesting to watch. E.g a lot of other youtubers make challenges in gen 6 games or BW2 but those are generally easy games with a lot of good pokemon to choose from, so I don't find those as enhaging, and 2) the fact that he goes over every major battle in detail without skipping any turns
The formula that led me to subscribe is your tone of voice. It’s calming but dynamic and expressive. In your nuzlocke runs I like how you give your Pokémon personalities and back stories even if they are silly. It’s a good contrast against your analytical take on the strategy for the runs. Congrats on your degree and 100k subs. I hope to see you reach 200k soon.
@@skibalovesya that’s perfectly fine, at least you still have a challenge. Once you get them all the only challenge you can set for yourself is doing them in order. So far, I’ve done Gen 5, 6 and 8 in order
I think your sense of humor combo-d with your editing, comedic timing and often deadpan delivery of those jokes is something that makes your vids stand out and what people like. It's a big thing I like anyway
This is great! I had an idea for a Nuzlocke challenge while I was in the shower a few days ago, so for that reason I suggest you do a hardcore nuzlocke using only genderless Pokémon. The game that comes to mind is Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon, since you can find Magnemite before the first trial.
@@helal3840 can you blame him? Usum literally forces you into a tutorial for the first 6 hours and then shoves cutscenes down your throat for the remainder of the game.
USUM is so ridiculously hard to hardcore nuzlocke. The totem fights will screw you up if you don’t have a good counter. There are some near-unavoidable one shots from random Z-moves if you’re not overleveled. That being said, it’s possible, but you’re gonna be losing mons left and right which is very sad. P.S. I’m doing a non-hardcore nuzlocke and I’ve managed to go deathless up to this point (vast poni canyon).
What makes your videos so entertaining for me is your humor, the thought process of every move and straregy but I think what I like most is seeing every attempt. There are some youtubers who offscreen their losses and just mention them. Or their attempt # just increases out of nowhere, but I really like that you actually show us where you failed and analyze why
Fr I discovered his channel with his emerald grass type nuzlocke which I think is one of his first videos and he's grown so much, not only in terms subscribers, also in video quality.
You were my first nuzlocker i discovered, after which i followed a whole bunch of other yt nuzklockers throughout quarantine. But even so, you are still my favorite nuzlocker! you rock flygonhg!
Congratulations for becoming a real doctor now! By the way, I think the gen 5 quiz should have a bigger time limit, because the list of Pokemon is so long, that getting all of them under the time limit is sooo hard.
Yay! Dr FlygonHG P.H.D, so happy for you. And I can say that my reason for liking you and why I subbed, it's cause you do nuzlockes I love and you also have a great voice and don't scream like other people do sometimes in their playthrough.
I've watched so much of your content recently Dr. FlygonHG, hope to see some content on Twitch soon as well! Great job and to think you were doing that level of schooling at the same time is insane!
This is great! Love your normal content of course but I’d also love to see more Sporcle content, there are some fun ones out there. Congrats again on both 100k and the doctorate!!
Heck yeah! Go Dr. FlygonHG! That’s an amazing accomplishment. Making all this content while working on your PhD is super impressive. Must have a crazy work ethic.
Hello Dr. FlygonHG, PHD! These generations are the bane of my existence because typing them is hard, especially in later Gens. You deserve that 100k subs because you made the content people want!! Keep it up! Stay healthy 🥰
New challenge idea! - You can catch only one Pokémon of each evolution line, however you can catch more than one Pokémon in each region. - You can only use a Pokémon once in any trainer battle, so after each trainer battle you must box/discard your entire team - All other nuzlocke rules apply (no items in battle, no overleveling, set mode)
@@boybrushedred18 Same here! Also in my masters. I highly encourage you to hang on tight, long studies are really hard but they are so worth it especially when you have a project :)
I think one of the main reasons your videos in particular are so successful is because you grab the attention of viewers immediately and go through your run in such a concise and well written manner. It’s clear to us why you succeeded or failed in your run and even concepts that could be complex like EV training are easy to grasp with your knowledge of the game and how you present it, making it an overall enjoyable experience. I just recently subscribed after watching Jan react to one of your nuzlockes and I personally have loved every video I’ve seen thus far. Congrats on the doctorate and I look forward to what you have in store for us!
Congratulations on your PhD dude! I liked the video, but then the Grammarly ads were...uh...highly appropriate for the ride you took me on. I'm sticking around on your subscriber count, but missing Fennekin and Nickit and mispronouncing Thievul (I.E. Thief-Vulpine), OOH it's a good thing I could scream in Japanese. XD If you can find your Sporcle quizzes and link them in the video description so we can test ourselves and see how we do in comparison that'd be cool though. Knock me off my high horse maybe. X3
I say with how short gen 5 time was compared to the amount of Pokemon, you totally memorized Gen 5. Good job, that's the most amount of Pokemon added to the game
i just got the first video in my recommendations last night and i watched it and liked it a lot so i’m happy also congratulations on becoming a doctor!!
I have a hardcore nuzlocke idea, its only using two headed or three headed pokemon, you could do this in Pokemon firered and leafgreen or Pokemon Sun and moon, pokemon available are doduo, exeguttor, magnameite, klinklang, dugtrio, hydreigon, weezing, combee etc.
I'd only be good up to gen 5, X and Y is where the games really fell off for me so I stopped caring about the new stuff as much. Congrats on being Dr. Flygon!

Pretty much spot on
I like how he offered "Sandcastle" as a legitimate answer
and “big elephant”
And “Groot”
19:39 "i already got carbink, the only pokemon that matters in this generation" ah, i see i've found a fellow cultured person
Tbh your videos have become a highlight for me every week, and it’s strangely comforting how you explain things
Doctor FlygonPDH, Mad respect.
the pure joy i get from watching this man fail to recollect the names of pokemon is top tier
It took me 4 years of doing these quizzes to get 100% on every generation. I was really bored in class…
Gg
Did your school servers somehow ban other sites or..?
@@tobysinbad oh they banned literally everything. Pokémon quizzes is the only fun thing I have to do other than google’s minesweeper or snake.

The Fennekin one kinda broke me 😩
