    thanks for taking us along on the overhaul. I just bought a 4430 with a blown engine. I put a combine engine into the tractor and she runs good. the tractor operates nicely. might have to go through the brakes though. It growls a little bit louder than it maybe should while stopping. But mabey ill check screen for metal filings before I get to excited

      Thanks. Let's hope! Kind of crazy that a 50-year-old tractor with some rebuilding might make it another 50 years

    always enjoy your old iron horse maintenance. I got a 4430 that the draft control is not responding trying to figure that one out.

    You said on I believe the ten and 20 series tractor when you pushed the clutch in the loader,would not function until clutch was released.
    The neighbor has one what can be done to eliminate this issue?

    • @jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754
      @jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754  6 місяців тому

      @georgemarshall7508 when you hold the clutch down it stops the transmission pump.
      The Hydraulics will run long enough that if you come up to your wagon or Manure Spreader that you can function the loader.
      If you're going to be stationary for any length of time doing multiple hydraulic functions then just simply click the neutral and let the clutch out

    Hi Jon, Question, is it posible to remove the top-shaft rear bearing-race without removing the oil pump. Can it be removed from inside the transmission case? Has anyone done this.

    You should wash the tractor 🚜 steam cleaners

    • @jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754
      @jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754  5 місяців тому +1

      When we do a transmission overhaul I will roll the transmission into the center of the shop and steam clean it. Then hit it with air to get all the water off. And if we are going to be waiting for parts for a while I will take a penetrating oil aerosol can and spray it down so it doesn't rust on the gasket surface

    Great video. I am pretty sure the 4230 was the last NF Deere produced. Have you ever heard of or ran across any 30 series NF utility tractors 830, 1530 2030, 2630?

      Grew up with wood. No way no how would I ever want to use wood for the shop. For the amount of time to go get wood and then a little bit of stove maintenance during The winter, I could build them hours out in the shop and make a lot of money.
