I feel like LGBTQ now is totally different from LGB then. People are taking LGBTQ now way too seriously---they are obsessed with transgender people, coming out, etc. LGB then was whether you were lesbian, gay, or bi. I remember my v religious grandma telling me that people were not accepting of LGB in the 1980s, which I understand because most people in the 80s were straight. Now, it is accepting to be LGBTQ. I have no hate against gay people, but if people with Neo pronouns are forcing biological cis people (yeah ik people don't like the term "cis" but am I supposed to call biological people trans? Okay, I will stick with cis, but if people don't like it, then tough sh*t) to "respect them." @BarbieBizarreeit's usually very difficult to argue against teenagers needing more time to decide what they want in life. This is just true. For degree, surgeries, hormones, etc. No amount of your feelings changes the fact that teenagers are just less developed in the brain and that could lead to poor decision making for their older self. This is simple stuff that we apply to Neary every other subject. There are TONS of detransitioners coming out each year. And it's pretty clear to see how that happened. There is nearly no down side to putting off making that decision and just getting some proper therapy and support as well.

It's very encouraging to see this backlash gaining momentum. I have always been an open-minded and progressive person (or so I thought. Not according to a lot of people nowadays I suppose). Recently I went on a bike ride with a bunch of hipsters, and I pretty much have always fallen into that category I suppose, I was a musician and all of that, but I just realized how much of a drag it is to hang out with these people that I would have usually hung out with. I was talking about camping and I said that I had a small two person tent, but it was pretty much only for two people if you had a very skinny girlfriend or wife. I know that not everyone has the same sexual preference as I do and by the way, I'm sorry, but I'm not sexually attracted to overweight women no matter how much you shame me, I'm just not. I was immediately and rudely corrected with "or boyfriend or husband". It was said in such a condescending manner and I just said, "oh yeah, sorry, That could be the case". And then there's the stench of homophobia surrounding me. I was implicitly seemingly labeled as a close-minded bigot for a simple omission of lifestyles that differ from mine. I obviously see no problem with that, but still, now I'm probably the homophobe of the group right? I left that ride not embarrassed. I left the ride with clarity. Clarity in the fact that it was time to find new friends. I need to find friends that I can have loose conversations with and relax without worrying about slipping up and being called out. That's what you should be able to do with friends. You should be able to relax and maybe even have fun. I also don't want to have pseudo-intellectual conversations about serious topics and even pointless topics such as gender. I don't need to prove my intellect to friends and I don't want to discuss these things when I'm trying to relax on a weekend at brunch. These people are 28-32 year olds with stunted development. I first encountered such types about 20 years ago. I ended up working at two rival book stores while finishing my degree. People are taking LGBTQ now way too seriously---they are obsessed with transgender people, coming out, etc. LGB then was whether you were lesbian, gay, or bi. For degree, surgeries, hormones, etc. No amount of your feelings changes the fact that teenagers are just less developed in the brain and that could lead to poor decision making for their older self. This is simple stuff that we apply to Neary every other subject. There are TONS of detransitioners coming out each year. And it's pretty clear to see how that happened. There is nearly no down side to putting off making that decision and just getting some proper therapy and support as well.

It's very encouraging to see this backlash gaining momentum. I have always been an open-minded and progressive person (or so I thought. Not according to a lot of people nowadays I suppose). Recently I went on a bike ride with a bunch of hipsters, and I pretty much have always fallen into that category I suppose, I was a musician and all of that, but I just realized how much of a drag it is to hang out with these people that I would have usually hung out with. I was talking about camping and I said that I had a small two person tent, but it was pretty much only for two people if you had a very skinny girlfriend or wife. I used that example, I suppose, because that's kind of what would apply to my situation. Obviously, there are alternatives. I know that not everyone has the same sexual preference as I do and by the way, I'm sorry, but I'm not sexually attracted to overweight women no matter how much you shame me, I'm just not. I was immediately and rudely corrected with "or boyfriend or husband". It was said in such a condescending manner and I just said, "oh yeah, sorry, That could be the case". And then there's the stench of homophobia surrounding me. I was implicitly seemingly labeled as a close-minded bigot for a simple omission of lifestyles that differ from mine. I obviously see no problem with that, but still, now I'm probably the homophobe of the group right? I left that ride not embarrassed. I left the ride with clarity. Clarity in the fact that it was time to find new friends. I need to find friends that I can have loose conversations with and relax without worrying about slipping up and being called out. That's what you should be able to do with friends. You should be able to relax and maybe even have fun. I also don't want to have pseudo-intellectual conversations about serious topics and even pointless topics such as gender. I don't need to prove my intellect to friends and I don't want to discuss these things when I'm trying to relax on a weekend at brunch. These people are 28-32 year olds with stunted development. As one of the most loathsome of all creation; a straight, white, male, I honestly fear those trapped in the depths of demonic possession and actually feel sorry for those that recover AFTER the physical damage is irreversible. I first encountered such types about 20 years ago. I ended up working at two rival book stores while finishing my degree. At each store there was a "trans woman" that I could not help but "misgender." I kept referring to each individual as "he" ( I am a poor benighted heathen!" No one ever called me out for this because such lunacy had yet to reach a boiling point. My first exposure to the academic side of this demonology was in a sociology course with a professor that was known as comrade among the non-leftist students. He tried to convince his skeptical students that gender identity was dependent on social factors as opposed to the real biological facts. It sounds as insane now as it did way back then. How do you feel about the separation from lgb and tq+ debate? Some people think they can’t be lumped together especially since they’re two different things.
