I saw this show 8 yrs ago & still have great memories of it. Disney pulled out all the stops in renovating The New Amsterdam Theater, it is GORGEOUS. And the show is wonderful, "spectacle" is def. the right word for it. The costumes are the most dazzling I've ever seen in any show. And the energy is wonderful.
I’m seeing Aladdin next month on tour and I’m so excited, it looks stunning! I would love to see a Tangled musical, I feel like there’s so many beautiful moments in the film that would translate so well to the stage
Saw Aladdin in London in their final month at the Prince Edward. Saw Trevor Dion Nicholas as the Genie and made sure to see him in whatever show he's doing the time I'm visiting (which was just Hamilton and Next to Normal). Seeing Courtney Reed (OBC) as Jasmine was the highlight of the evening as I've been obsessed with the album for years. Really wish I could go see the tour and really hope someday the Pro-shot will be released from the vaults
Thanks! Haven’t been to Aladdin. Disney should do Moana or Encanto next. There was an Encanto concert at the Hollywood Bowl with costumes and a set, so perhaps they re thinking about it.
I love the New Amsterdam Theatre. When Mary Poppins was there, that was possibly the best combination of show and theatre aesthetic that I've ever seen -- it just worked perfectly together.
Aladdin on tour is gorgeous. The tour genie is so so good. I personally felt that kassim is the strongest character of Aladdin's friends but we had nay nay and they killed it. Proud of your boy is so gorgeous. I must admit I have only seen lion king and Aladdin Disney musicals and lion king is definitely the stronger for me. As for iago the one we had I genuinely dont think he would have been as good as a parrot version. Such a good show.
I was lucky to see Haunchback of Notre Dame here in Seattle. Unfortunately, unlike Aladdin which went straight to Broadway from the 5th Avenue Theatre, Haunchback did not transfer to Broadway. Also, the the thing about Haunchback is that the musical has seened to not use Disney in the title. The cast recording also doesnt say Disney. It just says 'based in the Victor Hugo and songs from the Disney film."
I went to Disney University and was a cast member thirty years ago. Aeron is right. Great attention to detail which is noticeable even moreso if a cast member. I still have my I D pin. I would love to see Snow White as a musical. Might be issues as Someday. My Prince will come but I love it
Saw it in june of 2019. It was so much fun afternoon. i had Katie Terza on as Jasmine she was magical def triple threat. her and ainsley melham were brillant together. how can you not smile and dance with michael james scott. two added songs "These Palace Walls" & "A Million Miles Away". Alan Menken should have kept the original arrangement for "A Whole New World" instead of the new one for the musical. i wish they kept abo. but a good musical & family show. New Amsterdam theatre is haunted. Broadway Ushers want to bring back Beauty and the Beast. Mary Poppins was amazing there.
Fun Fact: When I saw Aladdin on the US Tour it was the only time I was told to stop recording the curtain call (by the conductor mid bows. I was front row & he was waving like mad at me verrrrry strange) I'm glad I have been able to see most of the Disney shows minus Tarzan, Mermaid, Hunchback, & Herc (obviously the last 2 being very limited in runs) as a HUGE Disney fanboy myself there really is nothing like Disney magic on stage. Hoping we see more recent films like Coco & Encanto get some sort of stage adaptation even if just at the theme parks. (I love Beauty & The Beast at Hollywood Studios but I think it's time for a change)
I want to see Pocohantas. The music is incredible and the plot has a lot of room for improvement. A musical version update could fix a lot of its problems.

Awesome, Hope to catch it again on the UK tour! 🎉
Disney put together an Aladdin show for their theme parks, that one used an Iago puppet, it ran for years in California.
I think Encanto would make a great musical. Lots of characters and musical numbers!

I'd like to see Tangled on a Broadway stage.

You've mentioned the Follies a few times but I don't really know much about them, where they a dance troupe or a company?

I've never seen it. I was wondering whether it was worth seeing. Are you seeing Disney on ice on tour next year?
I would love to see aristocats stage adaptation

I've heard Coco is next, but I want Encanto too.
